Beautiful Monster 2 is the second and final book in the Beautiful Monster series by Bella Forrest. The book begins at the close of the summer and Amy is about to begin her year as a graduate student at school. Amy and Liam’s relationship has been going well, even with the loss of Porsche. But, the year holds surprises neither of them could have planned for. Amy and Liam begin receiving visitors, other vampires that have also been sired by Selene. They want Liam to help them to kill Selene. If she was dead, they would all be returned to human form. And Selene has continued to make all of their existence a living hell. And if he was a human, Liam could have a normal relationship with his beloved Amy. But Amy’s HIV takes a turn for the worse. And with the stress of preparing for their plan to kill Selene, Amy’s career taking off, and her disease progressing, their relationship suffers. Also, Sarah, Amy’s best friend, has been admitted to the school so she was an addition that made an unexpected impact on Liam and Amy.This is a quick book and all things are nicely concluded. For me, though, the book was just ok. I did enjoy getting closure to Amy and Liam’s story but neither of their characters really affected me or made an impact on me. I did anticipate how it was going to end as well. All in all, though, it was a sweet paranormal romance.

A disappointing end to this series. First, I wish the author hadn't decided to end the series. Dislikes... I thought Liam was so selfish in this book. I hated they way he described her blood. I found it very disrespectful. I also didn't like reading about his party nights out. The book had a lot of filler and seemed to drag at times and then fast forward at other times. The ending... Why wasn't this an option the entire series???? Nothing was mentioned in book two, maybe it was discussed in the first book. I can't recall. Also the plan for Selene.. Didn't understand the reason for the change up. Also Sarah's character was all over the place. Didn't care for her for most of the book.

3.75 starsThis was the sequel and final book in this series. This book was a little better than the first one. I don't know what is was about these books, I liked them, but they seemed to fall a little flat for me.This book continues the story of Amy and Liam. Amy is starting her graduate year and continuing her romance with Liam. Several things are happening, she gets a part on a TV show, vampires keep showing up and asking for her, her friend starts going to school with her, and she is still dealing with the fact that she is HIV positive. The vampires are on a quest to kill Selene, their sire, so it will break the spell and return them to humans. A plan is devised and practiced...Will it work? Tune in and see...

I've been a huge fan of Bella's since I read A shade of Vampire a year ago but I have to say that for me this book was missing something, I struggled a little with the first book due to the fact that Liam's change was so painful, I can't actually say what it was I didn't like but when I read a shade book I become totally absorbed in what I'm reading and this didn't happen with this, now Shade has the advantage of being a long series 5 so far and counting but I was gripped from the very first one so it's not that, this just didn't seem to have the same maturity and depth.Anyway criticism aside this is still a good vampire romance and it's a class above a lot of books in this genre so well worth a read.

I hoped with a 2nd book that it would get better and closer to the greatness that it her other series, A Shade Of Vampire. Unfortunately it was not, it was very angsty and not her greatest work. I will continue to look forward to books by this author because she does have the ability to write great stories and characters just not this series.

Beautiful Monster 2I am so sad that this is the end of Liam and Amy's story. I loved these books. It was a totally different take on the usual vampire story. I highly recommend Beautiful Monster 1 & 2!!!

Dynamic duo. Both book one a d two are well written and the characters are quickly developed. Even though this type of Vampire was not your usual, after you get over the fact that they are walkers and eat food during the day, the storyline is very interesting...

First half was kind a bore (to me), but started picking up the pace in the middle. A twist in the end it something I did not expect.

Vampire celebritiesAwesome book. Bella Forrest is such a great story teller. I read the beautiful monster first book and just finished book 2 while waiting for the shade of vampire book 48 to be released. It was a great love story set in the modern day theater venue. The story kept me captivated.

Actual Rating 3.5 StarsI had an idea/hope of how the book should of ended, and while how it really ended had about the same outcome I was disappointed. It could of gone off a lot better than it had. With all the drama involved between Amy and Liam I'm surprised they managed to get anything done.

I like the story idea between Liam and Amy but the writing style didn't quite sit right with me. I read both books because of I like the story and felt like I had to see it through. The writing was choppy and felt that both books could have been written a bit better.

Beautiful Monster 2 by Bella ForrestSteph's Rating: 3 starsOverall: 3 stars Steph's Review:I really did enjoy the first Beautiful Monster book, but I felt like this sequel was a bit lacking somewhat in comparison. From the get-go, I knew that I wasn't going to be captivated by this one. It wasn't great, just okay. After Porsche DeRitter's death, Liam Swift no longer has a Shield to keep him human during the night, and he must withstand the painful transformation into vampire at every dusk. The only solution is to return to chaining himself onto the wall in the basement of Leopard Academy, so that he won't be a risk to Amy, or any other student at his school. Liam knows he must put a stop to this to not be a danger, so he has gathered a coven of vengeful vampires for one purpose--to finally slay the mother of all vampires, Selene, and end the curse of vampirism. Beautiful Monster 2 overall just had a much more cheesy feel to it than the first. There was a lot of typical vampirism aspects like eating raw hamburger meat and unrelenting bloodlust that made me shake my head several times throughout the book. I had lots of "Really?" moments, because I thought Bella Forrest could have made the book much more suspenseful. I'd be reading a serious moment, only to have the magic broken by something ridiculously vampire. Vampires are a cliche topic overall, especially after the whole Twilight drama, but it is completely possible to still write a good vampire novel now as long as the author can make something unique about her definition of vampire--something not cheesy that would just make you sigh with melancholy.I really loved Liam and Amy in the first book, but for some reason I just wasn't as drawn to them in this one. It's not really Amy's problem actually, more just Liam. I understand that Liam is going through all this angst because he doesn't have a Shield around anymore, and because he's trying to orchestrate an assassination of a centuries old vampire, but he just pissed me off in this book. His attitude wasn't charming anymore, and he spent the majority of this book in a bad mood. That meant I was spending the majority of this book mad at him. Not the greatest thing for character development, eh? There are lots of new vampire characters introduced in this book, but since the novel was short I didn't feel like I really got to know them well before the story ended. I also felt like some things were just left unexplained. Heads up, there might be a few ghosts heading your way in Beautiful Monster 2 :)--which I thought was cool, but I didn't really understand why they had to be there. The conclusion to Amy and Liam's story itself was quite well done. It was the only valid way I think to give the characters a HEA without seeming too unbelievable for the plot. The problem was within what it took to get to that conclusion. This is a short read, so if you enjoyed Beautiful Monster this is something to put back onto your reading stack, but be forewarned that you might find yourself a little disappointed with it overall. I didn't expect much from this novel. The subject matter did not seem properly researched, there was nothing fresh, new or exciting added to the vamp/new adult genre(s) and most if not all of the characters needed a good slap in the mouth. My first gripe. HIV and AIDS are serious and should be treated as such. I thought writing a love story where the main character is afflicted with the HIV virus was a bold move and I thought that would make for an interesting read, but it was poorly executed. The main character would have been born in about 1993, by my estimation and somehow she contracted the virus from her mother due to a blood transfusion...In the United States that would be virtually impossible. And if by chance her mom got a dose of bad blood (and please remember this would have happened in the 90's, not the 80's) there would have been a major lawsuit and she would not have needed a scholarship to get into this school in the first place. So none of that made sense. Google Arthur Ashe or even a simple Google search regarding when they starting testing blood for HIV and you will see my point. Why couldn't her mother have been a police officer or EMT that was exposed to the virus in the line of duty???That actually still happens and is pretty plausible. Secondly. Do we have to hear how gross her blood smells on every other page? That was very off putting. If vamps have super smell, how was he able to be intimate with someone who smells like a walking corpse? Also. Sarah was so annoying. I won't say much because I don't want to give any spoilers, but really? I wanted to push her down a flight of stairs. Seriously. And lastly, there was nothing new in this story at all. Yeah if you are sickly supes can smell it, vampirism turns a hottie into a recluse, true love prevails and blah blah blah. The writing style wasn't too bad, but the story was severely lacking and please do your research.

3 Stars. The book was interesting, Bella took a different approach with the Vampire world in this book than she did in the Shade books, and while I do prefer the fantasy world of the latter it was still an interesting perspective. The characters in the book, in my opinion, had a lot of potential to grow into strong, deep characters, however, I feel as though they were rushed and not developed properly. Sarah was extremely annoying however I grew to like her a little bit towards the end of the book. I did not like Liam at all, I preferred him in book 1. He was egotistical, rude to Amy and just plain selfish. Amy wasn't bad, her HIV story was unique and interesting however I can't help but feel her disease was glamorised in some ways and also I didn't really like the way they kept talking about how horrific her blood smelled to them. I mean if she smelled so bad how was Liam able to stand being near her and kissing her etc? I think Bella could have just toned it down and said it wasn't appealing to the vamps. Also, the part where Steven(or Steve)(( don't remember what his name was which is ironic as I finished the book last night)), and the rest of the vampires leave and then come back seemed really pointless to me. If they felt so strongly about leaving would they not have made a bigger deal about it and not came back? I don't know, I think them leaving could've been left out as it really didn't add anything to the storyline. The fact that they didn't end up even killing Selene and just left her be was so stupid in my opinion and I'm still confused about it all. I mean I get Amy needed her alive in order to become a vampire but seriously what an anti-climax. In conclusion, the book was good but could've been better.

For a book to tackle HIV or AIDS in any form is a brave book, this book and the first book (also titled Beautiful Monster) does that to a degree, but, also includes vampires, witches, shields (a person that can negate the powers of he supernatural), ghosts and werewolves.I fell in love with this duo of books, most people will probably know this author from her Shade of Vampire books, I personally have not read one yet, they are on my very, and I mean very, long wish list!! Anyway, the story, it is about Amy a young girl who having got into the performing arts school run by Liam, who she discovered in book 1 was a vampire and is now her boyfriend, is now in her second year of school and planning the demise of Selene, Liam's sire.Word is getting around in the underworld and the school is visited by others that Selene has sired wanting to kill her in order to return to human. With them and their secret weapon, Sarah, Amy's best friend, they are all set for their plan. Things are never going to be that simple though and with the relationship between Liam and Amy hitting a rocky patch and Amy's HIV causing worry there are a lot of extra twists and turns to the story. The story is a great conclusion to the story although I have to admit to wishing that we could have more of their story. Perhaps even some more of Sarah's story?! It is well written and suitable for all who love this genre, YA and adults alike, watching the characters develop over the course of the two books, especially Amy, was a delight and I feel like I have now got to say goodbye to a friend.I guess i'll have to turn to Ms Forrest's other books now!!

Double review for books 1 & 2If you’ve been following this blog long enough, you will know that I’m a big fan of Bella Forrest’s A Shade of Vampire series. This time around I have decided to check out another one of her series called Beautiful Monster. Here are 6 reasons why you need to read this series:* The story surrounds a girl – Amy, who is terminally ill and is such a gorgeous character that your heart immediately goes out to her. She has hopes and dreams of becoming a successful actress but fears her illness will be the reason she never gets to fulfil them.* This is an intriguing story of luck and taking advantage of an opportunity to obtain a dream.* There is a hunky ex-movie star – Liam, who is a mystery at first but he is hiding a dark secret. However, he is seriously swoon-worthy. He has his moments of rudeness too, but once you get to understand him better it’s easy to see why.* We encounter several forms of supernatural creatures during this series – vampires, shields, witches and ghosts. All of whom have their own agenda.* A sweet romance between Amy and Liam that is filled with drama, love, lust and clean love scenes.* The book has a climax that doesn’t exactly go to plan, but gives a result that is fitting for these characters.Overall, it’s a story of hope and with an adorable character in Amy it’s well worth the read.4 stars!

A FANG ABOVE EXTRAORDINARY !!!Wow! Bella Forrest has done an exquisite job of the continuation and final book in her Beautiful Monster Series. I was totally blown away by the raw power and depth of this remarkable supernatural story of never ending hope, childhood dreams fulfilled, undeniable love, hardship, and tragic loss. The story is powerful, compelling, romantic, sensual, and heartwarming as well as heartbreaking. The dialog is simply exquisite. The characters are fascinating, intriguing, charming and relatable. The story casts its spell, charming your imagination while holding your heart with its magic. I was totally enthralled. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The beautiful love story of Liam, a vampire, and Amy, a young woman with AIDS, and their struggle to find happiness in each other's arms, will remain in my thoughts and in my heart for a long while. This is not a story to be easily forgotten. I smiled! I laughed! I cried! What more should you expect from a great book! I absolutely loved it! I can hardly wait to read Book Two. Bella Forrest is truly an amazing talent!

I love this book and I love Amy and Liam`s characters. I'm absolutely gutted there will be no more. This was an easy free flowing read that kept me hooked. I like the easy going feel to the characters, it's a refreshing change to the the normal intense vampire books. I think the aids disease brings an interesting spin to the story and I like the fact that Amy escapes the disease. I enjoyed reading about the shields some more and being introduced to the elders and more vampires.I love Bella Forrest`s writing style, the way she captivates you with all her books. I don't like to go into book details so all I can say is, if you have read Bella`s other books then read this because it's just as good. For those of you who have not read her books then give her books a go. She introduced me to her books this year and I love them all and she never fails to disappoint her readers.Another great book Bella thanks for sharing them with everyone.

Well I enjoyed this final book to complete this story of an intriguing new idea of vampires, ghosts, witches and of course the humans who get involved with them. I did enjoy the ending to these books and I have to say regardless of the miscommunications, angst, death and villains we finally see Amy and Liam come together putting aside her illness and his lack of mortality, and being joined by a variety of new friends who are closer to family. It's a bitter sweet ending but a HEA for our loving characters. I have to also say that I have never read a story which tackles HIV & AIDS to this extent and I applaud Bella Forrest for making a very empathetic story confirming that love really does conquer all.
