Bruised, bloody, and broken she had to walk away.THE AFTERMATHPicking up the pieces of your life after a tragedy is a daunting prospect, and that’s considering you still own all of the pieces. But what if you don’t? What if someone else owns those pieces, and those pieces are a part of your soul?You dig deep and work with what you’ve got. That’s what Danika told herself and believed, every single day, for years. Tristan and Danika’s love had failed every test that life had thrown at them. She couldn’t forget that, not for one second. And if those tests had been overly harsh, well, she wasn’t one to wallow in self-pity. The failure was the thing she had to focus on. The failure was the lesson. She had no intention of working so hard to make it out of hell without learning that lesson well. THE REUNIONOver six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan’s company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It’s been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There’d been a reason she’d gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad. She shocks herself by quickly giving in to a hunger that she never imagined could still consume her.Even the best intentioned denial has a breaking point. THE HARSH REALITYAfter everything that’s happened, the rise and the fall, the pain and the aftermath, can these two navigate the waters of acute regret, survive the trials of coming face to face with all that they have lost, and find the strength to try again?...

    **** FULL REVIEW NOW POSTED ****What a beautiful ending to Tristan & Danika's story!!If you love second chance romance, this is a must-read series! In this final instalment of the Tristan & Danika trilogy, R.K. Lilley truly brought this love story full circle. From the first time I met Tristan and Danika's characters in the Up In The Air trilogy, I've loved them and been intrigued by their story. What could have happened to make two people who so clearly loved each other become so estranged? And, would they ever find their way back to each other after hitting rock bottom? ... In this trilogy, all our questions were answered as we were taken through the highs and lows of Tristan and Danika's tumultuous, heart wrenching, and passionate relationship."I'm Tristan. I am an alcoholic and a drug addict. I'm here because using cost me the love of my life."I won't go into too much detail about the plot but there is some of it that isn't a secret because, when we saw Tristan and Danika in the Up In The Air books, we knew that they spent years apart. In the first book of this series, we saw the love and passion that brought them together, in the second book, we found out the cause of their tragic separation, and in this last book, we discovered what took place during those six years apart and what finally happened to bring them back together."I longed to have her in my life. In any capacity. I'd literally take anything. I wouldn't be happy with less than everything, but I'd take what I could get."Taking us year by year throughout their separation, we got to see how they coped, how they dealt with the pain, what they felt, what they did, and where their hearts still lay. I loved how, despite all the bad that happened to them, and despite everything that came between them (even if those things were sometimes their own actions), neither of them every truly stopped loving the other."How can you still love her so much?...""Because that's how love works. It doesn't die, even when you don't feed it. That's just the way it is... Loving her has become a part of who I am."Even though their separation was painful, I also understood it and I loved how they never truly lost their connection... and when the healing finally began, I just couldn't stop smiling."Whatever you need me to be, I'll be that. Whatever you want me to do, however we need to make this work, we will do it."Everything was realistically paced -- never rushed -- and throughout it all were these undercurrents of the kind of passion that only comes from true once-in-a-life time love tempered with the reluctance that only comes after immense heartbreak. Their was not an easy path and my heart went out to them as they slowly rebuilt everything that had been broken. They were both fighting their respective battles and it was both painful and heartwarming to see Tristan work so hard to regain Danika's trust and to see her want to trust him but be understandably wary of putting her heart out on the line  again."Love doesn't let you walk away clean. Love is messy…. Love takes a fucking piece of you before it's done."At the end of the day though, despite all the pain and heartache, there was no doubt that they really were perfect for each other and seeing them happy just had me smiling for pages on end. I loved their teasing, their banter, their games and private jokes, their passion, their love... everything.Tristan and Danika were just one of those couple who you knew were meant to be together. I was proud of them honestly. I'd seen them at their best and at their worst, I'd seen them both mature and heal and finally find their way back together. I was wiping happy tears by the end. It really was a beautiful, heart-melting end to their story."Oh sweetheart. You haven't been paying attention…. I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six fucking years. I am the guy who has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened -- what we lost together -- breaks my heart, but it doesn't change anything."I think that second chance romances are some of the most powerful ones because not only do you have an epic love but you also have the first hand knowledge of what it's like to have lost that love... so when it's found again, you can't help but treasure it."You were not responsible for making me worse. But I'll tell you one thing, it's a fact that you were responsible for making me better."I absolutely adore RK Lilley's writing. I've loved every single book I've read from her. Her characters and their stories just draw you in and you can't help but be feel invested in their lives. She's one of my favorite authors and I highly recommend all her books for anyone who loves hot, passionate, addictive romance.4.5 stars*******************************TIMELINE CLARIFICATIONThe Tristan & Danika trilogy is a spin-off of the Up In The Air trilogy (in which we first met Tristan and Danika as side characters). Both trilogies can be read on their own though and you don't need to read them both to understand the stories. However, their timelines are interconnected.The first 2 books of this trilogy, Bad Things and Rock Bottom take place 5 years before In Flight (the first book in the Up In The Air trilogy). Then, chronologically, come the three books of the Up In The Air trilogy.... and then finally comes Lovely Trigger (the last book in the Tristan & Danika trilogy).So chronologically, this would be the order of the books:✦ Bad Things (Tristan & Danika #1)✦ Rock Bottom (Tristan & Danika #2) - starts right after Bad Things✦ In Flight (Up In The Air #1) - starts 5 years after the end of Rock Bottom✦ Mile High (Up In The Air #2)✦ Grounded (Up In The Air #3)✦ Lovely Trigger (Tristan & Danika #3) - starts 6 years after the end of Rock Bottom However, the suggested reading order is to read all 3 Up In The Air books, and then the Tristan & Danika trilogy. Trust me, it all works out very clearly :)*******************************Here's my casting for Tristan & Danika:**************************** For more of my reviews, book news and updates:✦ Main blog: Aestas Book Blog✦ Facebook Blog Page✦ Twitter

    Love is not about want... Love is not about good... Love doesn’t let you walk away clean... Love is messy... Love takes a fucking piece of you before it’s done. If it is ever even possible to be done.I don’t think I could ever come up with more perfect words to describe Tristan and Danika’s love story, or as Danika jokingly called it:The great war of T&D. Their love was just that –a war. It was a long, tortuous, all-consuming fight full of battles and victories, defeats and triumphs, tragedies and trials.This may be the longest review I have ever written, but I honestly think I could talk about my favourite book couple forever. Seeing their story come to a conclusion was bittersweet, but it was the most satisfying ending I could have asked for such an incredible series. There's not enough stars for how much I loved this book!This book picks up where the last left off. The first few chapters span the 6 years of little to no communication between Danika and Tristan, both in their own quiet suffering. Their lives are exactly where they wanted to be, only missing one crucial detail –each other. Neither one can truly move on, so when circumstances call for them to be reunited, Tristan knows he need Danika back in his life.“We needed to become best friends again. Yes, that was how I would do it. I needed to become so essential in her life that she couldn’t conceive walking away. I meant to break her.Needed to break her.”He knows getting Danika back is no easy task and first he’ll have to break down the walls she spent years putting up. Danika and Tristan have never been ones to do anything half-assed and when reunited, their love and history all comes back full-fledged with a one way ticket on the crazy train.To say that I cried from the first page to the last would be no exaggeration of any sorts! But they weren’t all bad tears, not at all. I cried tears of happiness and sadness, of heartache and laughter. Tears of nostalgia and memories, of reunions and regrets. Tristan and Danika’s story was one of hope, loss, and second chances.“You don’t need to follow every impulse in life; you don’t need to take on every gamble. But some, even ones that have burned you before, well, some of them you do. Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances.” Those first few chapters were so hard to read but so necessary. So many second chance books go straight to the big reunion, but I liked how unrushed Danika and Tristan's was. We got to see their lives year by year and the struggles they went to in their attempts to move on from one another. But like Danika said, with a love like theirs, is it even possible?Tristan and Danika are two of my favourite book characters. Neither is perfect. They both have flaws and edges and there were times throughout these books when I wanted to shake them both, but I love them nonetheless. They are fighters; they are survivors. Neither was dealt an easy hand at life or love, but they fought and fought and fought. I could not think of any two more deserving characters of such a perfect ending. “Because that’s how love works. It doesn’t die, even when you don’t feed it. That’s just the way it is. I wouldn’t change it, even if I could. Loving her has become a part of who I am.”One thing you can always count on this author for in her books is the steam. Her sex scenes are steamy and sexy, and Tristan left me fanning myself as always! His new kinky side was as intense as ever and I loved every page. The chemistry and spark between him and Danika has always been on fire, and RK Lilley did not fail to deliver in this one.There is a fine line between showing a character’s growth and change, and making them into a whole new unrecognizable person. I absolutely hate when authors completely change a character in the middle of series just for the sake of the story, but RK Lilley kept each character in these books true to who they were from the very beginning. My heart broke for the young and in love Tristan and Danika we had met so long ago but I found myself falling in love with them, falling in love with their love all over again.“I knew she still loved me. I could see it now, even if she was still in the throes of denial. She didn’t have to say it in words. She spoke to me in so many other ways. Her love spoke to me in every surrendering line of her body. It spilled out of her pure silver eyes every time she looked at me. She was mine again. And, even when she hadn’t wanted me, when I’d lost all faith, I’d always, always been hers”Of course, Danika and Tristan changed so much throughout their years apart, but I loved that even through those drastic changes, we could see the wrenching similarities of the young characters we fell in love with so long ago. I felt so nostalgic every time something from the first book was mentioned and pretty much burst into tears whenever they talked about Jared or 'the lost years'. I was bawling when Tristan was staring at Danika in that diner, comparing the girl he once loved to the woman before him. I most loved seeing the change in Tristan. He’s a character I love so much and feel so invested in. My heart broke in the second book, seeing him become just a shell of the man he had once been. In this book, he was healthy and sober, but still the adorable, caring, cocky bastard we fell so hard for. “Mine, my lips told her...Mine, my body told her, as I pinned her to the wall...Mine, my heart cried out to her.”The amount of humor in this book was such a pleasant surprise. RK Lilley had me clutching my middle and laughing out loud with silly things like the cinnamon challenge, dick pics, pussy ring tones and (of course) Tristan’s magic hands. She planned the series so well and each book balanced the other out. Bad Things was all sweet and sexy, Rock Bottom was an emotional train wreck, and Lovely Trigger was the perfect conclusion to these much deserving characters. I laughed to the point of tears again and again! It felt so good to see Tristan and Danika happy again. From the very beginning, the way they talked like best friends, their banter and playfulness was what had won my heart.“In my whole life, there are only two people that I’ve ever called my best friend.” My eyes filled from his raw tone as much as his words. “You and Jared.” “You make me happy. You know that, right?” “Don’t,” I said weakly. “Don’t what? Be happy? I can’t help it when you’re in my life.”I love all these books so much and fell for each character, and not just our beloved D&T. I loved seeing James, Bianca, Frankie, Estella, Bev, Jerry, Stephan, Javier, Lana, Akira… each character holds such a special and unforgettable place in my heart. Their perfect ending really is more sweet than bitter, because I know this is a series I will return to again and again!Book 1 reviewBook 2 reviewRead in March 2014Reread: August 2014Reread: August 2015

    4.5+ EXPLOSIVE STARSWow! *wipes tears* I don’t think I’ve read about a couple like Tristan and Danika who so deserves their happily-ever-after! This third and final book concluding the trilogy is everything I hoped for! To be honest, I almost didn’t read this book. After the emotionally devastating (and that’s really an understatement) events from book 2 I didn’t think I was strong enough to read more of Tristan and Danika’s pain and regrets. Rock Bottom actually made me believe that these two would never get their HEA because of past tragedies and I just couldn’t accept that if it were the case in book 3. But holy flying cow! Guys, this book…it definitely wasn’t perfect, and as the reader looking in from the outside I disagreed with some of the character’s actions, but hell, it was perfect for Tristan and Danika. It was their beautifully broken story of how they slowly started to heal and entertained the idea of giving their love a second chance.First and foremost, I LOVED the setup of the book and how RK Lilley paced the story. I’m usually not a fan of time gaps, but it was done so well here. These characters, particularly Danika, had gone through hell and back and I could 1000% understand that it’d take years, maybe even a decade, for old wounds to heal. I really appreciated that the author didn’t just jump dramatically to 6 years later or a decade later. Instead, she paced out their story so every year or so, I’d get a glimpse of how Tristan and Danika were doing, an update on their healing progress, and to me, that helped me accept the possibility that they could get together again. Before, Tristan and Danika as a couple were dysfunctional, poisonous, and slowly tearing each other apart so I expected to see some development or improvement on each side to making their relationship work, and I did! It was immensely gratifying to see Tristan take up responsibility and he worked so hard to earn back Danika’s trust and love: some of his tactics had me giggling and sniffling over the thoughtfulness and tenderness in which he held Danika in regards to. And Danika…as much as she tried to protect herself from feeling again, there was never any chance of denying her feelings for Tristan. They were bound to happen and even if R.K. Lilley didn’t have them meet up 6 years later, should it be a decade later or 20 years later, their meeting and second chance is inevitable. These two people are just meant for each other. It's extremely rare for me to connect with two characters on such a deep level and that is the case with Tristan and Danika's story. I started out reading this series to get more glimpses of James and Bianca but instead I finished this trilogy with the thought that these books have well surpassed the Up in the Air books! Complete love and respect for this author!SERIES READING ORDER Sorry, no review but TRUST ME and read it please! AMAZON MY REVIEW AMAZON AMAZONP.S. 5 fabulous stars!!!I am a huge fan of R.K. Lilleys. Every book of her’s I’ve read, I’ve loved. The Up in the Air trilogy is a favorite of mine, but after completing Tristan & Danika’s series, I have a new favorite. Book two left me distraught. I have been waiting for this book, for the answers and closure I needed. I was not disappointed. It was the perfect conclusion to this series. Tristan and Danika’s relationship was not easy. In fact, it was destructive at times. The two were madly in love, and they were best friends. Now, after everything, they are nothing to each other. Tristan picked up the pieces of his life and got it back in order. He wants Danika in it whatever way he can have her. Even though she doesn’t want him in her life, it doesn’t stop him from loving her. It took Tristan losing everything that was important to him to truly get his life together. I’d been torn apart and put back together, and though I knew the end result was better now than who I’d been before, somedays it didn’t feel that way. Lots of days, it just felt like the world had lost it’s color, and the only things that defined my life were the things that I’d lost.Then there is Dankia. Danika was left broken. Broken hearted and trying to get through and realize that this is her reality. Even though she forgives Tristan for all the wrongs he’s done, she can’t have him in her life. Forgiving is one thing, forgetting she will never be able to do.The first part of the book was hard to read. It took us through both of their lives during the six years they were apart. It hurt to see them both hurting. With everything that happened, they needed that time. Six years later, they are thrown together at a wedding. They know it’s there, that spark and connection they’ve always felt for one another. It’s never left. When Danika is around Tristan, it just feels right. It felt right. Like I was coming home. Every single time. That’s how this felt. Tristan and I were entering a new and unfamiliar chapter, only it didn’t feel that way. It felt like no time had past at all. Danika comes to realize what Tristan has always known. They need each other in their lives. Even if it is just friendship. The problem is that all those other feelings are in the way. Getting hurt once makes it so hard to put yourself out there again. It’s not easy, but Tristan works for it. He’s willing to go as slow as Danika needs. Do whatever it takes to win back her trust and friendship, and hopefully in the end, more. Tristan stole my heart in this book. Anything he’d ever done in the past was forgotten. His love for Danika was powerful. He knew she was the love of his life, the only one for him, and he was never letting her go again. I loved how persistent he was, but not too pushy. He knew what she needed. He was willing to fight for her and he did. “I feel so lost.” He took my hands in his. “Not anymore. I’m right here. I’ve got you.” “There is this hollow place inside of me, where my faith in you used to be. I am so full of fear, and I do not know how to let myself trust you again. I don’t have the strength to do this. Not again.” “I’ve got enough for both of us.” He moved closer, wrapping me in his arms. “I don’t know how I even did it,” said Tristan softly. “Looking back from here, I have no idea where I found the strength to let you stay out of my life for so long.”This story had everything I love- second chance romance, love, steam, and even some humor thrown in. I was pleasantly surprised to have a few laugh out loud moments. The bed reminded me of a lifestyle. It reminded me of Frankie. “It was Frankie and James, wasn’t it? Did those kinky fucks bring you over to the dark side?” “Tristan Vega: Thanks for accepting my friend request . I promise to try my hardest to refrain from sending you too many dick pics.”After finishing this trilogy and the Up in the Air trilogy, I feel like I need to clear something up. Retraction from previous review of Bad Things, written June 13th, 2013:Some of you may remember me making this statement at the beginning of my review- Now, Tristan was no Mr. Cavendish, but he was pretty damn close.I’m a big enough person to admit when I was wrong, and I’m saying it now. I was wrong. After reading Lovely Trigger, I’ve come to the conclusion that Tristan is just as wonderful as Mr. Cavendish, maybe even more so. He completely redeemed himself for any past mistakes. He was PERFECT. ♥I enjoyed this book immensely. No other couple deserved love and happiness more than Tristan and Danika. Their love story is destructive at times, but powerful, emotional and beautiful. Their story solidifies that some people truly belong to one another. "Oh sweetheart. You haven't been paying attention…. I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six fucking years. I am the guy who has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened -- what we lost together -- breaks my heart, but it doesn't change anything."

    5+ all-of-me-loves-all-of-you stars! Lovely Trigger begins just a few months after the accident and spans the next six years while pivoting back and forth from Danika and Tristan’s point of views.Danika is trying to pick up the pieces after the accident and move on. She tried her best. She tried to be enough to save Tristan, but in the end she had to walk crawl away. Broken and bruised.I never cried a tear of self-pity. That had never been my poison. Bitter was my poison, and it took every ounce of character I possessed not to let it consume me.Tristan knew he needed to find sobriety. In the mess that became his life after losing Jared, the baby and the feeling of Danika slipping through his fingers; his rock bottom shot up from beneath his feet and consumed him. Ruined him.It was the most bitter pill to swallow; how my own rock bottom had impacted her. I had always been the one to throw myself in front of a punch for my brother, my mother. And my wife. My wife. I’d have done anything to take her pain, to bear her injuries myself. Instead though, I caused them.When James & Bianca’s wedding forces these two together, they both try their best to not allow their history to cloud the beautiful day for their two friends. But these two don’t just have a history, they have explosive chemistry that can’t be controlled and in most cases can’t be denied. Six years have passed since they lost everything. Six years of Danika trying to move on and failing to ever let anyone else consume her heart, six years of Tristan being sober and trying lose himself in women; only to find that nothing took the pain away. But something changes, Tristan held her for a moment and felt her and knew that he wanted all of her, but would be willing to take any piece she offered. Her being so close, in the same city, working in the same casino wasn’t enough. He knew that she’d let him in, even if just for a few moments – but he knew he’d have to break down her walls to get there.I meant to break her.Needed to break her.Whether it be with deceit, subterfuge, cold calculation, or sheer will power alone, I was set in my course.She’d built a wall up against me. A wall that seemed to me to be interwoven in to her very soul.For years, I thought that wall was impregnable. But a few words, a few brief encounters had shown me that the wall wasn’t stone, but glass.I meant to break it, and her, and anything that stood in my way. I was going to shatter all of the things she used to keep us apart.It had become my sole purpose. And if she failed to give, to yield, I”d break myself in the process.Tristan and Danika didn’t just have a horrible break up in their past to deal with. His sobriety taught him to face his demons and to accept the things that resulted of his actions. Danika spent six years grieving for a loss that wasn’t one of just a moment in time, but one that would scar her for the rest of her life. While Tristan had to push through to break free, Danika shoved her fears down, drowning them out while trying to move on – only to resurface later.I loved this series, these characters. I loved them all from the moment I met them and I have laughed and cried with them over the the last year. R.K. Lilley did an utterly breathtaking job creating this story. I am not sure if this was always their story or if bits and pieces came to life as she wrote it, but it was one helluva story in the end. I can’t recall a character that I’ve been more drawn to, that I felt more soundly before, than Tristan. His emotions were always so in your face and on display that you couldn’t help but become completely consumed by them. When Tristan was happy, I smiled – boy did I smile... but when he was hit with the harsh reality of what their past held, I cried. One moment of him breaking sent me spiraling. It didn’t matter if I was laughing the second before, the minute his pain was visible... I felt it. I can’t recall the last time I read a book where that feeling was so evident, so persistent. I wanted this story to have a happily ever after, I needed it to. I knew that no matter whatever the final scenes held that there would be pain felt along the way. And that part that was settled between the start of this book and the final words did not disappoint. We were given closure as to what happened with that letter that Tristan never got... how that could have impacted their future. We found out if our instincts about Dahlia were correct or not... (view spoiler)[I could see where she was coming from, but there is no understanding or forgiving what a piece of shit sister she was.(hide spoiler)]The one thing that I loved about Danika from the start of this series was that although she always had cause to be insecure because of the man Tristan used to be and the way people were drawn to him; she rarely fed that monster. Oh, what I wanted to do to that bitch, Mona. You know that classic magician trick where the assistant gets sawed in half? Well I wanted that trick, but I also wanted something to go horribly wrong. No second compartment where someone else’s feet dangled out of the end... nope. Just her and one helluva accident....I never wanted to see two characters fight harder for what they deserved. Not just half measures filled with good intentions. To really fight, dirty if needed – but to fight hard. Their romance started out as a battle. We knew going into this series that they didn’t survive. We read Bad Things, falling in love with them deeply – wondering how something so powerful could crumble. We went into Rock Bottom knowing that our world was going to shatter. But with Lovely Trigger we were going to finally get a future. No more of the story of their past, but a story born from the ashes of their destruction. Although this method killed me, I absolutely loved it. Knowing that they were apart, and going back to seeing how it all began only to know it wasn’t going to last – but never being able to give up hope. That is what this author gave us. So many times during Rock Bottom I wanted a different ending, knowing that it wasn’t possible. But I just could not let it go. Lovely Trigger gave me every moment I needed. Somewhere, in the great expanse of space,There is a home where soul reside,Yours and mine were joined togetherI have not moved from that place,God help me, I’ll never move from that placeBut there was a poison in my heart,And darkness in my mindI wasn’t there when you were drowningThough I’d give my soul to take it backYou had to leave me behindYou had to leave me behindHow did you leave me behind? And we get heat. The combination of these two have always been explosive, even destructive. That hasn’t changed. Whether a HEA lies in their future or if they are just opening up the scars of their past, there is no doubt that these two burn up the pages of this story. One of the things I loved the most about R.K’s writing is the way she gives you little warnings of things to come. Some may say, hey that was awful nice of you to prepare us a bit for what’s to come... but oh, no those warnings are not nice. Those little warnings aren’t meant to give you time to brace yourself... but in Rock Bottom those things drove me to tears and when I stumbled across that very same little trick in Lovely Trigger my only thought was ‘and this is why I fucking love her books’ – I loved every second of this journey that originally started in first class on an airplane, eventually landed on an island in Hawaii and suddenly found its home on the strip in Vegas. For me, these could never just be stand-alone stories of the characters that could be read independently. This was a group of characters that claimed a part of my heart that I will gladly let them keep. =========pre-review=========Not one, not two, but THREEEarly 2014? Do you promise R.K.?But what shall we do until then?["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

    4 to 4 1/2–Redemptive–StarsLoved it! I honestly didn't believe R.K. Lilley could make me a believer in Tristan and Danika's HEA but she did...BIG TIME! I've never read a more contrite, groveling hero than Tristan. He won my forgiveness and heart in this book. I love this couple and was grateful for the lighter, less angsty conclusion to their love story.

    ★★★★★ 5+ WONDERFUL, TOUCHING SECOND CHANCE STARS."Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances."If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would... No amount of stars will ever be enough to express my love for this series. Tristan and Danika's story is one that will definitely stay with me for a very long time and it will from now on reside on my all-time-favorites shelf.'The saga of Tristan and Danika' -The battles and the victories.The defeats and the triumphs.The tragedies and the trials.I laughed, I cried, I swooned, I wanted to punch certain people in the face and others I wanted to give a hug. I went through so many emotions while reading this series and even though book 2 left me heartbroken, by the end of Lovely Trigger my belief was restored and I once again felt like I could finally breathe.WARNING: this review contains SPOILERS for those who have not read book 1 & 2 in the series.Lovely Trigger starts off with Danika and Tristan each going their own way. After the accident at the end of Rock Bottom, Danika made the decision to stay far away from Tristan because bad things happen when they stay together. She's decided to move on with her life and focus on her career. Tristan, after leaving rehab, still struggles with his bad habits but he's determined to become a better person.He wants Danika back, and even though she wants nothing more to do with him, his feelings for her have never changed."How can you still love her so much? She won't even talk to you.""Because that's how love works. It doesn't die, even when you don't feed it. That's just the way it is. I wouldn't change it, even if I could. Loving her has become part of who I am."Over the course of six years, we follow Danika and Tristan's journey that occasionally overlaps. Whenever they meet though"Love doesn't let you walk away clean. Love is messy. I don't have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it's done."The author had done an incredible job at making the story detailed enough without ever making it too long or ever becoming dull. The fact that it was written in dual POV also helped me understand the characters and what they were going through much better and so I was glad for those alternating POV's."We needed to become best friends again. Yes, that's was how I would do it. I needed to become so essential in her life that she couldn't conceive walking away. I meant to break her.Needed to break her."T & D still have the best chemistry whenever they're together. Despite everything that happened, being friends comes natural to them and it was fun seeing them fall into old habits. Tristan still loves torturing and challenging Danika with his bets, nicknames and magic tricks and the fact that they so easily pick things up where they left off when it comes to their friendship, shows just how perfect they are for each other."In my whole life, there are only two people that I've ever called my best friend." My eyes filled from his raw tone as much as his words. "You and Jared."Slowly but surely, their friendship evolves into something more, but Danika still keeps a tight lid on her feelings. She's afraid of opening up and making herself vulnerable again. Her trust in Tristan was destroyed, which is perfectly understandable considering what happened, but Tristan is determined to restore what they had. The fact that he fought so hard to win her back made me love him even more than I already did. <3"I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six years. I am the guy that has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened - what we lost - breaks my heart, but it doesn't change anything. I still want to marry you, and I still want you to be the mother of my children."Still, their journey towards happiness is not an easy one and they have much more obstacles to overcome. Tristan and Danika are both such strong characters and the fact that they've both overcome so much and still try to make the best out of the hands they've been dealt made their story all the more admirable and powerful. Of course, there were also some less favorable characters in the story such as Twatalie who still kept showing up, Mona, Dahlia, Danika's dad...but overall the side characters helped make the story even better and it was fun catching up with James and Bianca, Lana and Akira and Frankie and Estella throughout the years.I couldn't have wished for a more perfect ending to this EPIC saga... Once I started reading it, I could NOT put it down until I reached the very end. And let me tell you, losing a few hours sleep over it was 100% worth it. The only downfall is that now that it's over, I feel a huge book slump coming up...what will ever compare to the magnificence of this story? (That might sound a bit over-dramatic, but I'm actually serieus, lol.) Overall, R.K. Lilley has done an amazing job and even though I already loved her work based on the Up in the Air-series, I have now become an even bigger fan!!! ♫ "Somewhere, in the great expanse of space,There is a home where souls reside,Yours and mine were joined together,I have not moved from that place,God help me, I'll never move from that place." ♫Series reading order: REVIEW / AMAZON REVIEW / AMAZON AMAZON

    I'm deliriously happy that she made this into a trilogy... The journey that these two went through was just everything!!! I am pretty sure I love these two crazy bastards more than James and Bianca! I laughed...I cried...I screamed...I "awwww'd"...I came...I hoped & wished...I loved...& I had my world rocked... I just cannot say enough good things about this one. I'm not going to talk about it at all as any and everything could potentially be a spoiler. All I can say is if you walked away with the worst book hangover in life on the last one and crying and not sure if you could go on... this book makes it so freaking worth the journey!!!R.K. Lilley... ---------------------------------OMG, OMG, It's coming!!!!! It's COMING!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to start it!!!That COVER!!! That TITLE!!!! I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!! http://rklilley.com/blog/2013/11/19/c...------------------------------------------I guess some people aren't excited that this is now a three book series... Don't get me wrong it's one thing when you have a series where the characters can barely carry one book let alone two, but Tristan and Danika obviously have a long history. They are also fantastic characters and just like my happiness over getting another Up In The Air book I also greet the announcement of this book as such...

    RELIEF I can finally breathe again. TRISTAN & DANIKA series was one intense ride and it was worth every crazy emotion I experienced along the way."Love doesn't let you walk away clean. The second book, Rock Bottom, well...left us on rock bottom reeling from all the drama, hurt and pain that Danika and Tristan went through. But...there has to be hope that somehow, someway these two can find their way back...and to each other. This is the final chapter in Tristan and Danika's journey. I feel like I've been waiting forever for it but I was so hesitant to read it and for it be done, over, finite. Of course, there was no way I could hold back and thank goodness, I didn't. It was A-MA-ZING!!!I love ~both~ Tristan and Danika...how could you not? Especially after being through their journey of such wonderful highs and such horrible lows. I have to admit, I wasn't sure they could make it. But they both have grown sooo much and isn't life about second chances? One thing I do know is that the sex scenes are scorching!! There are no holds barred with those two...anytime and anywhere! ;) I definitely loved having both POVs especially with these scenes. I loved reading how much they were both affected. And not only are we dealing with some drama from Tristan and Danika but we have secondary characters having their own dramas. There's a lot going on... ♦ Mona - what a witch but we all saw that coming. (and she was just plain out creepy!)♦ Dahlia - still being a brat. I had higher hopes but I did like how things ended up. ♦ Bronson - Danika's Dad...can we all just say "eeewwww"♦ Dermot - I like how that worked out. ♦ James & Bianca - of course, I still love them and how things are going for them. ♦ Lana & Akira - they were pretty funny and sweet.♦ Frankie & Estella - loved how Frankie was there for ~both~ Tristan and Danika. And how could you not love that ending? ♦ Stephan & Javier - both incredibly sweet. would love more about them. ♦ Bev - it was hard reading what happened but if I didn't already love her, I definitely would now. Sooo...did Tristan redeem himself? Well, of course, I can't tell you that but I will say that I was happy to see him struggle and to find out how much things affected him. Thank Goodness for his POV...the book would not be the same without it! And I loved how he worked his "magic". I'm really sad it's over. This is seriously a series I could reread and would definitely recommend it. I think I almost like it better than the Up in the Air series. Blasphemy I know! LOL! Recommendation:If you're looking for an intense love affair with lots of angst, drama and sexy times, this is the series for you. ❤A big shout out to Melissa for doing a BR w/me...it was great having you to discuss things with! xxoo ❤ Favorite quotes: ♥ "Sometimes protecting your heart is the only way to keep your sanity.”♥ "Now make like a magician and disappear.” (Corny I know but it made me giggle when Danika said it.)♥ “Fuck.  Well, that messes with my head.  What can I do to convince you to let me see that again?”  He smiled.  “I barely got a glance.  If I’m going to be fantasizing about that tonight, it would be nice to have a very clear picture.”  ♥ “It was Frankie and James, wasn’t it?  Did those kinky fucks bring you over to the dark side?” ♥ “Love doesn’t let you walk away clean.  Love is messy.  I don’t have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it’s done.”  ♥ “If I’d had even an ounce of hope left that you would let me so much as kiss your fucking feet again, I would have waited for you.” ♥ “You don’t need to follow every impulse in life; you don’t need to take on every gamble.  But some, even ones that have burned you before, well, some of them you do.  Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances.”

    FOUR LOVE IS MESSY STARS."I'd keep trying forever, if I had to, to make her trust me again."I've had a love-hate relationship with this trilogy from the start, but one things for certain the Tristan and Danika series is undeniably unforgettable. There's been love, lust, heartbreak, tear out your hair angst, knicker twisting sheet clenching sexy times and enough up and downs to satisfy any fair ground ride junkie. RK Lilley has a speciality for making her readers feel every possible emotion and after the highs and lows of this series I'm glad to say that I made it through all three books ... Just about, here's the rest of my 'lovely trigger' review thoughts.What's it all about?'Lovely Trigger' is the third and final book of the 'Tristan and Danika' series by RK Lilley. The trilogy is designed to be read in order and this book is the conclusion to a love story and the hope of a happy reunion. Tristan and Danika fell in love with a passion that was all consuming, their love was undeniable and explosive. Neither of them could imagine or believe what they would have to go through and they would never foresee that they may have to consider a future without each other. When tragedy strikes and life is not as they had dreamed they both have to find the strength to move forward to a life of belief that there has to be hope. As Tristan and Danika navigate through life picking up the broken pieces, they have to find a way to move on from the past or say goodbye forever.What did I love?No one can say that this book isn't entertaining and hold-on-your-kindle-this-is-one-hell-of-a-ride-addictive. Any author that can hold the attention of Goodreads like RK Lilley has with this this series deserves recognition. Love it or hate it, I don't think any reader can deny that this series was like a compulsive addiction and once I started that first page of the trilogy I needed to know what would become of this insanely obsessive but strangely loveable couple. After all that had happened to get me to the third and final book of the series ultimately meant that I was invested in seeing a second chance at love that would hopefully blow my socks off. By the time I got to the last page I can admit that I wiped away a tear and had the biggest and goofiest smile on my face. The journey to a happily forever was well worth the wait of finally getting to the ending and I'm glad to say that I fell in love with Tristan and Danika's love once again. This book has some wow moments that made me have that squeeze your heart feeling and it's worth mentioning that I went a little highlight crazy, this author has a way with words that quite frankly is magical. Danika and Tristan have taken up residence in that part of my heart that is reserved for characters that jump on the train of crazy love and I wouldn't have had them any other way.Why not five?Following on from book two in the series I struggled to forget about the difficulties that Tristan and Danika faced, sadly I found that I was still reeling from the over dramatised actions and conclusion of this couples relationship from book two. Having said that I was excited to finish up the series in what I'd heard to be an amazing finale. For the first quarter of the book I really felt I was connecting to the possibility of reconciliation between Danika and Tristan but as the book progressed towards the middle I started to feel like the book was largely repetitive and at that point I was feeling like I liked the book but I was nowhere near in love and I had settled to give this book a three star rating. Then I was presented with the ending of this trilogy and I was blown away, RK Lilley delivered the perfect ending and my book heart was left more than happy.Final thoughts ...This series will drive you to distraction, make you fall in and out of love more times than you thought possible, break your heart, mend your heart and take you on a journey that is simply unforgettable. There were parts that I will treasure and moments that I wish I could forget, but one thing that I am certain of is that RK Lilley is an author that is not to be missed, the 'in flight' series is one of my favourites and I'm not a little bit afraid to admit to my stalking of future releases to come. If you love your stories to be full of drama, outright obsessive love and heartbreak then you do not want to miss out on the trilogy, go grab it readers. Enjoy, kisses.

    6 "It's you I think about. Always you." Stars!(BR with Sharon is an emotional book junkie)This is my #1 book I've read so far this year! I was in book heaven! :)Book three begins a few months after Danika's accident, and Tristan and Danika are separately trying to pick up the pieces of what's left of their lives. They are both lonely, but trying to move forward, and heal from their devastating break up.Tristan really has come a long way. After Danika's accident he hits rock bottom. He's lost everyone that has ever mattered to him, all because of addiction. He comes to terms and accepts responsibility for destroying his relationship with Danika, and realizes his alcohol and drug addictions have cost him the love of his life.Tristan knows his life is completely out of control, and unmanageable, and seeks help. He goes to rehab, and starts seeing a counselor, and attending group therapy. He starts to deal with his demons, and make changes to better his life.Tristan is now staying clean, but has so many regrets. He is heartbroken at how he impacted Danika's life. He is obsessed with getting her back, and showing her he's changed. He is willing to do whatever it takes to have her in his life, and will take whatever she can give, even if it's just friendship.Tristan and Danika both work at the Cavendish Casino in Vegas. Tristan is a magician at the theatre there, and Danika runs the art gallery. When they see each other it is awkward, and Danika is still bitter, and tries to avoid him as much as possible. They both try to date others, but their hearts are always elsewhere. They can't either seem to find anything or anyone that comes even close to what they shared together.Six years after their break up they both attend a friends wedding, and are in the wedding. They still both miss and long for each other. Being in close quarters sparks ignite, and the explosive chemistry they've always shared can't be denied when they touch.They return to Vegas, and decide to try being friends, and begin to hang out occasionally. They start to feel comfortable with each other again, and find themselves really enjoying each other. They communicate well, and Danika starts to see how different Tristan is now, and quits fighting her feelings for him.I really adored this whole series. It really takes you on a journey. It is a roller coaster of emotions and at times was hard to get though, but so worth it in the end. It was one of the hottest series I've read! There are so many wonderful things to love about Tristan Vega! He is flawed, and makes a lot of mistakes, but gets himself together, and makes changes. He is a beautiful man inside and out. A huge teddy bear of a guy, with such a loving, tender heart! He is also passionate, sexy, and did I mention he is a fabulous cook, & he's in a band. :D Yes, I think I'm officially in love with Tristan Vega! :)) Had a blast reading this series with Sharon! I enjoyed talking Tristan with you & having someone to vent to! lol <333-My body did not want to leave her any more than my heart did. I did not know how I was going to move on, but it was clear that she already had.-How had it come to this? I had the clearest picture in my head, of the way she used to look at me, like I was her whole world. I would have given anything to have that back.-Lots of days, it just felt like the world had lost its color, and the only things that defined my life were the things I'd lost.-His thick eyelashes cast deep shadows on his passion-slackened face, just the tiniest hint of his eyes visible to mine. But it was enough. I loved to see that look in his eyes, even if it did drag me back in time six years, to when I'd believed that love could conquer everything.-It was all happening again. Every insane fucking bit of it was back. The all-consuming infatuation. Back. The tight pull in my chest every time I looked at him. Back. Falling asleep in his arms and still dreaming about him. Back. Insane psychotic jealousy. Back. Doubly, because we were both afflicted with it. Public make-out sessions, as though we were teenagers. Back. Vibrating tongue and magic hands that made me lose all brain function. Back. The heaven and hell of being with a man I couldn't stand to be parted from for even and hour. Back. His smile ruining me for every other smile in the world. The joy and the pain of being undeniably, unquestionably in love.-Her love spoke to me in every surrendering line of her body. It spilled out of her pure silver eyes every time she looked at me. She was mine again. And, even when she hadn't wanted me, when I'd lost all faith, I'd always, always been hers.-Because, whether she would admit it or not, every time we gave in to this hunger, this unforgiving passion, we showed our true feelings to each other. She couldn't give herself to me without showing me her vulnerability, and I couldn't take her without revealing my utter devotion, my forever love.-I laid my head on his chest as he kissed the top of my head. I could have stayed there forever. It felt like coming home.-"You don't need to follow every impulse in life; you don't need to take on every gamble. But some, even ones that have burned you before, well, some of them you do. Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances."

    5 Compelling Stars!Mild spoilers ahead!!After the heartbreaking events of Rock Bottom which broke my heart and left a bad taste in my mouth, I was apprehensive as to how RK Lilley is going to take this story and give the readers a satisfying and believable HEA. Because honestly, it's so hard to come back from those horrifying events in Rock Bottom. But she pulled it off and gave one of my most beloved couple the HEA they deserved!“Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances.”Lovely Trigger picks up where Rock Bottom left off; Danika and Tristan living separate lives. The story slowly unfolds as both Danika and Tristan deals with the aftermath of their actions a year, two, three and then six years after where the bulk of the story takes place. Everything has changed. For Tristan, the enormity of what happened finally hit him and he was so remorseful and so full of guilt. For Danika, it was a battle not to let bitterness consume her. She had lost everything in the aftermath of the Great War of T&D. “I never cried a tear of self-pity. That had never been my poison. Bitter was my poison, and it took every ounce of character I possessed not to let it consume me.”Their reunion didn't happen in an instant. It took over the course of six years before Danika can even acknowledge Tristan's presence, and years more for them to finally talk. But when they finally got together...But it was also sad and heartbreaking. But it also had some funny moments. Dick pics anyone? Still their road to healing was bumpy with Danika still doubting herself and Tristan. I felt that it took her longer to heal emotionally because she lost so much because of her relationship wtih Tristan. I can totally understand where she was coming from having lost everything. A lesser man would have balk and just leave things as they are but not Tristan. “Oh, sweetheart. You haven’t been paying attention … I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six fucking years. I am the guy that has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened — what we lost together — breaks my heart, but it doesn’t change anything.” He totally owned it. Tristan is relentless is his pursuit of Danika. He slowly but surely wormed his way right back into her good graces, her affection, and her pants - and not necessarily in that order. Boy, did he ever! I was so rooting for him at the same time wanting to see him suffer a bit. Danika's defenses didn't stand a chance.“I feel so lost.”He took my hands in his. “Not anymore. I’m right here. I’ve got you.”“There is this hollow place inside of me, where my faith in you used to be. I am so full of fear, and I do not know how to let myself trust you again. I don’t have the strength to do this. Not again.”“I’ve got enough for both of us.” He moved closer, wrapping me in his arms.”He totally won me over again and again. Lovely Trigger is the book that restored my faith in trilogies. Just a little bit. I'm still leery of them but if every trilogy is as compelling and heartrending as this one, I will wait and read each one of them. Yes, it has a lot of angst. And yes, the main characters often make mistakes. But Tristan and Danika's story resonated in that love is often messy and heartbreaking but still deserving of a second chance. “Love is not about want.Love is not about good.Love doesn’t let you walk away clean.Love is messy.Love takes a fucking piece of you before it’s done.If it is ever even possible to be done.”

    4.25 Second Chance StarsHe'd set me adrift, so very long ago, and I had wandered into deepest waters, with depths far too vast for me to navigate alone.And here he was, swimming out to save me. Had he been following me all the while? Had I been so blind?What a perfect conclusion to the trilogy. It was emotional, angsty, erotic, everything you would want in a book. I waited until book 3 was out to read the 2nd and ended up reading them back to back. In Lovely Trigger we find Danika slowly begin to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and shattered dreams. She has a job at James Cavendish's art gallery, and while she can't dance anymore, she gets by. As much as she tries to move on emotionally, she can never seem to fully forget the man that will always hold her heart.I convinced myself that it had all been passion, not true love.  True love was a myth, a misdirection from the solid things in life.  What I’d felt for Tristan had been big and all consuming, but I told myself, like a mantra in my head, that it had never been solid.   Even so, every little thing brought him to mind.  We’d had too much together, been through too much, felt too much, and every feeling had a memory. She tries to move on, but no one ever compares to Tristan.Tristan is dealing with his own demons. After hitting rock bottom, he's slowly but surely trying to climb his way out. He's gotten clean, a job as a magician in the Cavendish casino, but still the memory of Danika haunts him. He's riddled with guilt; for the things that he remembers and the things that he doesn't recall from his drugged out haze. Just reading about everything he went through after what happened in book 2 hit me right in the feelsI didn’t trust myself, Danika. I needed my sobriety. I’m nothing without it, and you were a lovely trigger for me.  That look in your eyes, after all that I’d done…The way you looked at me like I was scum and knowing that I deserved all of your antipathy. I knew that if you looked at me like that again, I’d hit rock bottom, and this time I wouldn’t come back from it." I kept waiting for their reunion, knowing that when these two cross paths it will be explosive. And holy shit was it!The world stopped as we took what we needed, what I’d been starved for since the very last time I’d been in his arms.   It was a frenzied mating, a swift coming together that took me to the fever pitch of ecstasy with a few rough, heavy strokes, over too soon, the perfect testament to our torrid love affair.I loved the way that Tristan works to get back into Danika's heart again. You can feel his pain and heartache through the pages. As much as I wanted to hate him after the end of book 2, my heart went out to him. That's the beauty of a book written in dual first person POVs. Love doesn't let you walk away clean. Love is messy. I don't have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it's done."There was plenty of things stacked against them; their past, the secrets Danika still keeps, and their present. On a side note, Mona...This was not as angsty as book 2, thankfully, but still packed a hell of a punch. (view spoiler)[When Danika finally reveals everything that happened that night to Tristan and reading his reaction? Gut-wrenching.(hide spoiler)]But then there was that ending. Perfection. Not gonna lie, it brought a tear to my cold and black little heart. It was that good.Why not 5 stars?There were some things that I wanted a little more resolution for. I'm a picky bitch, what can I do?(view spoiler)[After everything that happened with Danika and her sister, I wanted to see what happened with their relationship. I don't remember her being mentioned after that whole Tristan fiasco. I loved that she had her half-brother now, but some resolution with Dahlia would have been great. (hide spoiler)]Aside from that very minor thing, I loved the book. Trilogies are not something I read as I tend to grow bored with the same couple after 2 books. TO be honest, when I saw that there was going to be 3 books instead of the 2 that I had assumed, I almost didn't read it. (I blame my book ADD) But after reading these books I can definitely understand the necessity of it being stretched into 3. The story would not have been the same in just 2 books. Considering that this is my 2nd trilogy that I finished, it tells you something. If you love angsty, emotional, break-your-heart-then-put-it-back-together-with-a-cherry-on-top love stories, you need to read this.For more reviews visit ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

    4.5 long way home stars!“You don't need to follow every impulse in life; you don't need to take on every gamble. But some, even ones that have burned you before, well some of them you do. Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances.”For Danika and Tristan neither horrific tragedy or long time spans apart could break the inherent love and passion they had for one another. Can one truly ever get forgiveness if they cannot find it within themselves?Tristan literally hit his rock bottom when he lost his entire reason to live, his true light, his Danika. Danika was always a survivor...she may not have wanted to live without her heart, but she would pick herself up and go on. She would live everyday with her wall built around her heart. But how can you not look into the eyes of Tristan Vega and not be consumed? Time has matured both, it has scarred over old wounds, and it has given both new leases on life. What it has not done was stop their hearts from beating for one another. No one could make them smile and laugh the same, no one could challenge and accept a dare the same, and no one could create that amazing heat and intimate marathons the same.I was so deeply invested in this couple that I felt every agonizing moment of uncertainty, every gut-wrenching flash from the past, and I was lost in every sinful touch that consumed them. I have never rooted so hard for a Second Chance...No couple has ever deserved happiness more than Tristan and Danika.Again, this was not a pretty series... it was not flowers and sunshine. No, it was raw and gritty. It was a tale of consuming romance filled with blinding passion and harsh consequences. Lovely Trigger was a fabulously rough conclusion to a long hard road leading to pure happiness.

    4.5 Stars!"Love doesn't let you walk away clean. Love is messy. Love takes a fucking piece of you before it's done."The stunning conclusion to Tristan and Danika's journey. Full of heartache, love, anger, loss, forgiveness. This series packs an intense emotional punch. Book 2 left me heartbroken and I had no idea what was in store for T&D. How does love survive all of the hits they took? And will they find their way back? "Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances."R.K. Lilley did a wonderful job completing Tristan and Danika's story. A perfect ending for two well deserving characters. In the words of Frankie - "Wow. So the crazy train is going full speed ahead, huh? ‘Bout fuckin’ time."

    LOVED! This whole series was a wild roller coaster of emotions. There was so much angst that I was near panic attacks and so enraged at certain points that I wanted to burn my own house down Carrie style. I really liked the Up In The Air Series by this author, but the Tristan and Danika books blew those away. There was just so much wonderful drama that it kept me on the edge of my seat and thinking about this story every waking minute. I can't stress how good these books are. They were hot and passionate, crazy and jealousy-inducing, tragic and horrifying, sad and heartbreaking, loving and forgiving. This series has it all! Tristan is just wonderful; I love everything about him. He simply adores Danika and would do anything for her. All the wasted time that they lost is hard to handle. That is just something you cannot get back. Realizing the manipulations that occurred to damage them was gut-wrenching, as well. I loved every single word of this series even if it caused great pain and anguish, because at least the author was making me feel strong emotion. That is the most important thing I ask for in a book. This story, I know, will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend this wild journey!"You don't need to follow every impulse in life; you don't need to take on every gamble. But some, even ones that have burned you before, well, some of them you do. Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances."

    “Love doesn’t let you walk away clean.  Love is messy.  I don’t have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it’s done.” I LOVE MESSY!!!!!!!!!!!Loved it!!Loved it!!Loved it!!Perfect ending for Tristan and Danika! After everything they went through and the 6 years of separation they FINALLY grew up and matured. As much as I love train wrecks I also love watching the characters mature through out a series as these two definitely did!! Fabulous series so happy I read it!!!!! Now with that being said I will say this was my least favorite book of the series but I still liked it. It was absolutely necessary for their story to be complete!! The one thing that irked me REALLY REALLY BAD was the constant and I do mean CONSTANT descriptions of Danika's outfits in this book. I don't typically get annoyed if I like a book and the characters but by the 10th outfit description I was scratching my head....like who CARES!! If that's my only gripe.....I'm a happy girl:)):))

    ~~~~ 5 SECOND CHANCE STARS! ~~~~Wow! What a whirlwind of a series! Honestly, I don't know if I would have felt so acutely relieved and happy had I read this as each book was released. After reading Rock Bottom, I knew I made the right decision by waiting for all the books before starting this series. I went from happiness to sharp and depressing pain, followed by heartache and resignation, only to be woken up with a giddiness only an HEA could bring. And boy, did Tristan and Danika deserve a chance at an HEA. Second chances are so sweet, bittersweet even, but ultimately satisfying beyond belief.Lovely Trigger was by far my favorite. Bad Things was bittersweet, Rock Bottom was achingly depressing, but this book was JOY. I knew after reading Grounded, the final book in this authors Up In The Air series, that Tristan and Danika had a whopping, epic love story. You could feel it just from the brief glimpses mentioned by Bianca. I had no idea their story was so profoundly affecting, so moving.Tristan. The boy had loads to make up for. I didn't like him much by the end of Rock Bottom, although I did feel sorry for his utter downward spiral into hell. How do you get back from that? Well, we got our answer! But here, holy crap! Here, he was the poster boy for redemption. His maturity, ability to single-mindedly focus on getting Danika back was admirable. He was impossibly sweet and determined! I teared up so many times reading how he felt about her, his losses and regrets. So many scenes were acutely tender and raw with his pain. And poor Danika, she felt she had moved on, or told herself that, but she was suffering under the infinite weight of denial. But together, finally being able to feel what each meant to the other....BEAUTIFUL. So many memorable parts: the cinnamon dare in Tristan's kitchen, the truth game at Danika's house....I felt their friendship and magic just by being together come off the pages.And the steam? WOW. WOW. WOW. Steam is a usual part of romance these days, but it all blends into each other lately for me. Except here. Here, it's electrifying, powerful and incredibly sensual. The last 10% I was slobbering like a baby, refusing to do anything else but finish this book! It was addictive and scary and profound all at the same time. I loved the tenderness and pain from each word. Tristan, there are no words.... Freakin loved you!And Mona? Words are wasted on a skank like you. And the epilogue? my God. Can anything end so perfectly, so satisfyingly? LOVED, LOVED IT! This has been my Tristan and Danika weekend. And this book has made its way into my favourites pile!! Memorable and perfect, loved it!
    I read this series in one sitting. To say my brain is oozing out my ears from the roller coaster ride I just got off of would be an understatement.Many issues I reference are being put under the spoiler tag since I am dealing with specifics. Do not read if you haven't read this book.(view spoiler)[When I finished book two I was convinced Tristan and Danika were very toxic together. The traumatic experiences they went through weren't handled well by either of them. Tristan was in self destruct mode for basically the whole book and Danika was going way beyond the role of enabler.When book three picks up everyone is trying to piece their lives back together. I admit I had serious issues with Tristan. Basically I initially felt he got off easy. I changed my mind on that position the more I got his point of view. He owned his shit (for lack of a better term). As with most addicts it takes a life changing event to have a come to Jesus moment. He took the steps to better his life and take full responsibility for his role with everything that happened with Danika. He asked for forgiveness and went about making a life without her. I like that time was spent getting into his head. Reading of the pain he was dealing with over the loss of Danika but having the strength to finally ask again and again to be a part of her life was heartwarming The downside for me was he still had serious anger issues where she was concerned. The jealousy behavior was ridiculous. After all the therapy he had to not have dealt with that major part of his former destructive lifestyle seemed illogical. This brings me to Danika. Her role as enabler was tough to read as the story unfolded. I wanted to yell more than once for her to 'woman up' and walk away. Love makes you blind but it also can make you deaf, dumb and stupid. I chalked it up to her young age. As we got a glimpse into her life 'after Tristan' she had a made a life for herself and accepting the cards she was dealt. What was hard for me was as time went on I was a screaming'get some therapy!!!' again and again. Where Tristan was in a healthier place, Danika wasn't. It was hard to read. I was frustrated that no one in her circle suggested it. I felt it would have helped make this story more realistic. It would have shown growth on her part to take the steps to become mentally and emotionally healthy.Once Tristan and Danika were spending time together they seemed to fall back into the same roles: Sex makes everything better. That made me nuts. The lack of any real conversation and putting everything on the table to deal with the past was what was needed. Instead, as with prior books, they used sex as a way of communication. It felt like overkill. I needed more conversation. This was the area that they didn't seem to have matured. Why face reality when you can use sex. If they had gone to counseling together and talked about their history and dealt with everything it would have felt like a natural progression. Did I enjoy seeing how their love was the underlying current to their HEA? Yes. When theyFINALLY had the extremely sad and emotionally draining conversation where everything was finally dealt with I let out a sigh of relief. The reality that she couldn't have children and Tristan's reaction broke my heart. It was maddening that we had to wait until roughly the last 20% mark for this to happen though. After everything I needed more time spent on this area. (I will say I was completely baffled that NO ONE told Danika that since she had her ovaries she still had eggs. WTF? Her going through life thinking she had no options seemed like it was just a ploy to make her story that much more dramatic when it wasn't necessary). (Plus don't get me started on Tristan donating sperm to Frankie. WTF!)The ending felt like someone sprinkled fairy dust everywhere and things were all rainbows and unicorns. While sweet, I felt something was missing. It felt like after the huge amounts of pain and heartache making their life TOTALLY PERFECT wasn't realistic. In closing, please note I am not bashing this series. I applaud R.K. Lilley for taking me on such an emotional ride. I was glued to this story from start to finish for two days. I ran through a bucket load of emotions. Am I glad I read this series? Yes. Am I on the bandwagon like a majority of the other readers, unfortunately No but that's ok.(hide spoiler)]Thank you Whitney for holding my hand as I read (and complained and fussed and rambled) this series.
    "How can we be so good for each other in so many ways, and so bad in just as many others?"If you haven't started this series I don't know what you're waiting for, but you need to get to it.This book was everything I could've asked for and even more. This review is being typed in the midst of tears and wine. "We were rushing headlong into this lunacy, and I could worry about the mess we made later."Tristan and Danika's story is: HeartbreakingBeautifulRealSexy SatisfactoryI feel as if this couple are friends of mine and I've witnessed their journey from the beginning to end. The saga of Tristan and Danika has sadly come to an end. I laughed, cried, got angry from book one to three. This book picks up years after the explosive events in book two. Tristan is a changed man and Danika has found the strength to pick up the pieces and move on. Oh how I wish I could say more, but this review will be kept purposefully short and spoiler free.R.K. Lilley has written a story that will remain in my heart for a long time. Simply amazing. I will never be able to adequately convey the depth of emotion and deep connection this couple share, so I'll use Tristan's words to end this review.From Tristan to DanikaRemember when you told me that I was yours and you were mineEvery heartbeat, every breath,Our love was perfect, our vows were sacredand, oh sweetheart, you know I tried so hard to tow that line,But there was a poison in my heart,And a darkness in my mindI wasn't there when you were drowningThough I'd give my soul to take it back You had to leave me behindLooking back, over the years of empty space,Through the harshest rearview mirror,Remembering the things I put you throughNow left to wonder, who's come to take my placeWhen I looked at you the world dissolved My poison cured, my darkness lightI never did deserve you, sweetheartBut in your arms my wrongs were solved"A heart could only break so many times before the cause was lost."Rating: 5 At Last Stars
    4.5 Stars!This is the final book in Tristan and Danika's love story.In the start of this book, we get a recap on what has been going on in Tristan and Danika's lives over the last six years. Tristan has finally decided he has waited around long enough for Danika and he wants to be in her life again, even if they can only be friends. They have so many past hurts that they may never be able to truly be together but Tristan is clean and sober now and he wants a chance to prove that he is better than he ever was. He has his life straight, but can Danika forgive him for all of the hurt that he caused?Danika is very stubborn. She doesn't completely trust Tristan anymore, but it is so hard to stay away from him. They have always been drawn together and that definitely hasn't changed over the years. After finally agreeing to being friends again, she realizes how much she has truly missed just being around him.His eyes were twinkling; he couldn't stop smiling. "You know I adore you, but there are times when I just like to torture you. It makes me happy." ~TristanThere are so many things for them to try and work through, things that Tristan needs Danika to tell him because he doesn't remember.
    If you haven't read this series, you shouldn't be reading this review...This series for me... WOW!I have to say that R K Lilley is one talented author that will keep you captivated from the time you pick up her first book to the time you close the page on the last book!Even the waiting for the sequels are SO worth the wait!Now on to the story of Tristan and Danika...I love these two to bits and pieces! I was rooting for them from the start.We went through their relationship from the start, the intensity.. The attraction, the love... And the heartbreak....We saw the longing between them in the years they were apart... Any scraps we got from James and Bianca's book... We ate it up. That's how desperate we were to know.This last part was a world wind of a reconciliation especially because of the past hurt.Danika lost a lot from her relationship with Tristan. Her heart was broken and she was physically damaged.And after all they went through... somehow some way they still found their way back to each other... The sex was soooooooo freaken hot in this book!!!The universe might have been against them then but at the end you can't fight fate... They were meant to be together. Soul mates. Offcourse like everything else, there were bumps along the way and as they say... The rest are semantics and everything will work out sometimes in ways you never thought possible!
    4.5 Second Chance Stars "Love doesn't let you walk away clean. Love is messy. I don't have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it's done."What a well done conclusion for Tristan and Danika! There were a few things like the long lost sister, Mona, and waiting for the full reveal that irked me. Still, Tristan completely redeemend himself and Danika remained kick ass throughout the whole series. "Oh sweetheart. You haven't been paying attention…. I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six fucking years. I am the guy who has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened -- what we lost together -- breaks my heart, but it doesn't change anything." Byt the way, that ending was PERFECTION!! Drama, chemistry, heartbreak and redemption made this series one great read."What I'm willing to give you is what I want from you."
    4 ½ - Contemporary/Erotic RomanceTristan is one of the most repentant, fully redeemed romance heroes I’ve ever read. He was absolutely swoonalicious and husband-worthy in this! The ending was utter perfection and had me sobbing. A very painful, rough, broken road for these two but such a beautiful, hard-fought HEA. Loved it!
    5 Amazing StarsArc provided by author in exchange for an honest reviewFor more reviews, please visit www.sizzlingpages.com  Met you through Mr. Cavendish. You were a mysterious, sexy, arrogant, larger than life character with a humongous ego to match… Had the feeling you held secrets and I was itching to know your story.In Bad Things, you proved your arrogance. You were such a dawg. A manwhore. And I knew you were trouble from the very beginning. You’re just another playa, stringing along a beautiful girl, setting her up for heartache.You hit Rock Bottom and I was gutted. Your life was tail spinning, spiraling out of control. Tristan, you filleted my heart and tore me to shreds. How could you?? I was totally frustrated and MAJORLY pissed off when you abandoned all sense of reason and surrendered to the demons that haunted you. For such a powerful man, your weaknesses took hold, the ghosts from your past held their victory, and you lost the one shinning light that graced your existence. You did a fine job of setting yourself up for a future laced deep emotional darkness. I could smack the shit outta you.But, all the while, I adored you. You magically casted a spell over me using your animalistic sex appeal and charisma. I did not stand a chance. And now…BEHOLD! The powerful force that is Tristan pieces himself together and from feebleness comes strength. Like the phoenix rising from cinders, Tristan is reborn. Now clean and sober, he is placing the broken pieces of his shattered life back together, save one – Danika. Losing her left Tristan incomplete and empty. Living without his love for over six years, is not a life worth living. And now he is determined to get her back, no matter how long it takes. Even if I couldn’t be her husband, I longed to have her in my life.  In any capacity.  I’d take literally anything. I wouldn’t be happy with less than everything, but I’d take what I could get. Crumbs, scraps, tastes of what she once felt for me, as a salve for what I still felt in abundance for her. “Because that’s how love works.  It doesn’t die, even when you don’t feed it.  That’s just the way it is.  I wouldn’t change it, even if I could.  Loving her has become a part of who I am.”Lovely Trigger, the long anticipated final installment to the Tristan and Danika Series, is a tale of hope, redemption, forgiveness and an undying love that burns within the hearts of two broken souls. Trust me, these two are quite dysfunctional…I was immediately sucked into the Tristan and Danika's saga. I became obsessively addicted to the drama that surrounded their lives, passions, heartaches and desires. Their erotic tale was so filled with angst, I loved every nail biting, heart stopping, soul gutting moment. RK Lilley set me on a roller-coaster ride that left me whirling and twisted my emotions as if being swept away by a violent tornado. This series was sizzling.Metaphorically speaking, I define Tristan and Danika’s relationship as magnetic. Two poles: one side drawing them together, their attraction is undeniable and the bond is everlasting.  On the flip side: the circumstances that evolve around their lives exert a force so powerful, like similar poles of a magnet, repelling and totally annihilating each other to the point of devastation.To fully appreciate the true beauty of their tumultuous love story, one needs to understand Tristan’s pain. A darkness consumes his soul, the demons that torcher him affects Danika and becomes the root of her pain as well. These demons are the catalyst for all the heartache, which befalls this couple. The turmoil with in him wreaks havoc in their lives. Tristan’s actions causes him to do the unforgivable - utterly destroying Danika’s life.  He infuriated me to no end with his lack of control.BUT, as much as I wanted to be angry with Tristan and rip his head off because of all the hurtful shit he pulled, he always held my heart.  Here lies his beauty.  Despite how his selfish actions caused Danika ‘’s anguish, he truly loved her.  And his love was so strong, it gave him the fortitude to turn his life around.  It gave him the courage to clean up his act and pull Danika from the depths of despair.  This was no easy task, for Danika removed herself from his life for years. However long it took to pave his way back into her life, he would serve his penance because he can no longer live with out his woman.Danika is empty, joyless.  Tristan decimated and destroyed her life, leaving her body and soul barren.  Her existence was dismal. Closing herself off, building impenetrable walls around her heart, Danika barely manages to survive.  Her focus is her career and little else. And yes, her heart still belongs to Tristan and thoughts of him dominate her mind. For several painful years, Danika was nothing more than an empty shell. Until one unguarded moment, she succumbs to unbridled passion, and gifts herself the pleasure of all things Tristan. She devours him. Feelings of love and longing take control, and needless to say these two create heat that will melt your panties off. It’s just the crack in her armor that Tristan prayed for in his quest to regain Danika.As much as she hates how Tristan ruined her life, she adores him to no end.  No man will own her heart for Tristan is her soul mate as much as he is her destroyer.  Her love for him runs so deep, she alone carries the burden of truth as to the events which occurred that ill fated night, when all Danika treasured was violently ripped away.  She is incapable of disclosing the truth for fear of destroying him further… eventually, all is revealed.  And Tristan’s reaction is anything but predicable. When discovering how his poison leaked and turned Danika’s world upside down, he persevered and worked harder to solidify their relationship. Tristan became was unwavering and in full control of their destiny.  FINALLY, Tristan manned-up.“Oh Danika,” he said softly. I started shaking my head vehemently. “Tell me, sweetheart.  Whatever it is, I’ll fix it.”I closed my eyes, my face crumbling. “Oh sweetheart,” he said, softer now, closer now. “I feel so lost.”He took my hands in his. “Not anymore.  I’m right here.  I’ve got you.” “There is this hollow place inside of me, where my faith in you used to be. I am so full of fear, and I do not know how to let myself trust you again. I don’t have the strength to do this.  Not again.” “I’ve got enough for both of us.”  He moved closer, wrapping me in his arms. “It’s about time I got a turn letting you lean on me.”    Of course, there were some bitches that tried to derail their relationship all I can say to them is….Tristan’s character fascinated me from the moment he was first introduce in the “Up in the Air” series. I was totally intrigued by how his persona morphed from a selfish, self-centered man – to a selfless man so desperate to repair the two lives he destroyed. It was remarkable.  He atoned for his sins by walking through hell, through the fire and made it to the other side.  Setting a new and better course for his life, he was redeemed and unwavering in his need to bring Danika healing and peace. As much as she tried to fight the pull towards Tristan, he never gave up.  And she had no choice but to give in. They were meant to be together. And he gave everything to assure their future would be filled with bliss. That’s where Tristan won me over.  That and the fact that he’s an unbelievably sexy dirty talking bastard – it was impossible for me NOT to love him.It was official.  We’d been through hell, but here we were, in our own little slice of heaven.  Lovely Trigger was a bittersweet experience for me.  I had an unhealthy obsession of wanting to see their “happily ever after”.  But part of me never, ever wanted to let them go. Tristan and Danika’s journey, laced in gut wrenching pain, ended magnificently. RK is one of my favorite writers.  The masterful way she portrayed the love story of Tristan and Danika was amazing.  So happy to see them reach their well deserved happily ever after.
    Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!5 ‘my heart is healed’ starsI have been desperately waiting for the finale to Tristan and Danika’s story and, thank God, RK Lilley has given us a beautiful ending to this epically passionate yet tragic romance as Tristan and Danika finally find their way back to each other. Warning – this is going to contain spoilers for the first two books of the series.Rock Bottom finished at exactly that point – rock bottom. Tristan lost himself to alcohol and drugs, leading to devastating consequences for Danika, and the two of them were left heartbroken, going their separate ways after their short but all-consuming love affair. This book picks up during the final scenes of Rock Bottom, this time from Tristan’s POV, and OMG, I was right back there in that gut wrenching scene in the diner. My heart was instantly aching reading how destroyed Tristan was by all that had happened. So much emotion!The story follows them through the next few years as they try to move on from each other, both of them failing dismally. While Danika does her best to try and forget Tristan and create a new life for herself, he holds on to his love for her, nurturing it, and clinging to the precious memories of their time together. “That’s how love works. It doesn’t die, even when you don’t feed it. That’s just the way it is. I wouldn’t change it, even if I could. Loving her has become a part of who I am.”They have some very brief, tension-filled interactions over the years they are apart, but when James and Bianca’s wedding brings them back together for the first real time in six years (yes, six years! *sniff*), they finally decide to try put their issues aside and become friends again. It’s not an epic, sudden reconnection, it’s a slow process, and as much as I wanted the fireworks, tears, and heart-pounding bliss of that one perfect moment, the way it’s done is actually very realistic, and I absolutely loved it. It very quickly becomes apparent that the passion between them is as intense as it ever was, and neither of them are able to resist it - HOLY HELL! Once again, these two steam it up and Tristan reinforces his sex-God status (damn, but that man has stamina!) But the actual rebuilding of their relationship is a slow process. Finding their way together as friends again while trying to manage their crazy lust for each other makes things a little dysfunctional at first, with Danika pushing Tristan away with one hand, and grabbing hold of his dick with the other. But Tristan is one determined man and is happy to take whatever Danika is willing to give him. And, much like the first book, they cannot dispute what is actually happening between them, and I love the way they handled it. He ran his nose along my jaw, breathing on me. “We’re friends, right? This is going well, don’t you think?” The man was demented. “By what criteria are we judging it? If going well means we’ve both lost our ever-loving minds, then yes, I guess it’s going well! If we’re basing it on us being just friends, we’re failing epically.” He pulled back from me and grinned.I love this relationship! It completely captivated me in Bad Things, and after the drama of Rock Bottom, I lapped up the happiness and humour that is Tristan and Danika together. They manage to recapture the magic of their early relationship where they laugh, tease and banter constantly, and I loved that! I love the silly, funny little games they play with each other, the dares, the inside jokes, and the way they both absolutely blossom in each other’s company (view spoiler)[ The ‘dick pic’ scene at the baby shower had me in hysterics! OMG, that whole scene was GOLD!! (hide spoiler)].Through all of the fun times, they still appreciate the importance of what they shared together in the past. But at the same time, they have to deal with the issues that forced them apart in the first place, as well as the guilt that they feel and all that they have been through in “the lost years” in between (I love how Tristan refers to their time apart as “the lost years” *dreamy sigh*).“Love doesn’t let you walk away clean. Love is messy. I don’t have to tell you, of all people; Love takes a fucking piece of you before it’s done”I love these characters! Their journey has been tumultuous to say the least, and I have laughed, cried, swooned, and gotten all hot and flustered over and over again while reading these books. RK Lilley has done an amazing job bringing their story to life and putting so much emotion into it that every time I opened a book in this series, I was completely carried away as she took us right into the heart of both of them. I was fully supportive of Danika’s actions when it came to Tristan, even when it broke my heart, and I continued to empathise with her in this one. She is terrified of losing herself to him again, and terrified of the pain that they have the potential to inflict on each other, and I absolutely understand that! At the same time, my heart broke for Tristan when he realised the full extent of all that was standing between them. But I absolutely love the way that he owned it, fought hard for her forgiveness, and went after Danika with single-minded determination. They had a lot to overcome, and there was a lot of healing needed, but he never lost faith that they could overcome it all together. “I feel so lost.” He took my hands in his. “Not anymore. I’m right here. I’ve got you.” “There is this hollow place inside of me, where my faith in you used to be. I am so full of fear, and I do not know how to let myself trust you again. I don’t have the strength to do this. Not again.” “I’ve got enough for both of us.” He moved closer, wrapping me in his arms.And as if all of that swoon isn’t enough, there is an amazing ending which wraps everything up beautifully! If you’re a sap like me, and like your love stories all tied up with lots of gorgeous details, you’re gonna love it!“Oh, sweetheart. You haven’t been paying attention … I am the guy who has been in love with you for over six fucking years. I am the guy that has thought about you every day. I miss you every day. What happened —what we lost together— breaks my heart, but it doesn’t change anything.”I was left grinning like a fool, my heart bursting with happiness.I loved it – 5 stars.
    4.5 Riveting Stars!Some of the sweetest moments in life come from second chances...If there was ever a couple whom I craved a HEA, Danika and Tristan would be at the top of the list! What started in the first installment as a stunning, passionate love story slowly spirals into gut wrenching heartache. By the end of book #2, I was an emotional wreck and had nearly lost all faith in a hero I'd come to love. It is a MUST to read the first two books before beginning this final chapter. Events have occurred, resulting in intense despair, leaving both Tristan and Danika broken and their future forever altered. Things were said, choices made, trust breached, all unforgettable and culminating into horrific consequences that one would expect to be unforgivable. I began this last installment with trepidation, fearing a relationship weighed down with this much baggage could not be mended, and if so, would it be believable? I'm happy to say, R.K. Lilley did a fantastic job not only restoring my faith in Tristan but making it all convincible. Beginning a few months after the second installment ends, Lovely Trigger takes the reader through the six years they’ve been apart. Told in altering POV, both Danika and Tristan’s thoughts and feelings are revealed, making this a heartfelt, moving, emotional read. Danika is a survivor and while fighting not to let bitterness consume her, she’s also trying to move on with her life. … “I never cried a tear of self-pity. That had never been my poison. Bitter was my poison, and it took every ounce of character I possessed not to let it consume me.”… We find Tristan a changed man. He’s finally conquered the demons that led him down the road of self destruction. His sole purpose and drive is to have the only woman he’s ever loved back in his life. There's no doubting his sincerity. His remorse is felt and when the big secret is revealed, his grief is tangible, brutal in its strength. R. K. Lilley delivers a beautiful conclusion as she moves one of my favorite couples from bleakness and despair into forgiveness and redemption. There are many fun times as well as the blazing, hot, off the charts chemistry felt throughout. Their inferno of passion still exist, producing sweltering love scenes.…. How long did a tongue’s memory last? I badly wanted to find out… (Tristan’s thoughts)Lovely Trigger brings a perfect, yet bittersweet conclusion to this series as I’m going to miss this couple. Their journey has been fraught with turmoil, and this author’s talent had me riding the crazy train in a front row seat. An engaging, compelling romance capped off with a perfect fairy tale ending . If you enjoy an emotionally charged, tumultuous love story, this trilogy is one of my favorites and one I highly recommend.
    I get nervous when a series is ending, especially when it is a series that I have loved, and felt, and embraced, and experienced so completely. What if it just doesn't work out? What if it falls flat? What if it all comes apart in this last book, and just destroys the entire series for me?But, oh. Oh my heart, Lovely Trigger does not disappoint! I loved it with every single fiber of my being. I love it down deep into the marrow of my bones. Exquisite, and torturous, and magnificent, it's everything. I was crushed, I was enraptured, I was destroyed and rebuilt, enchanted and intoxicated. So brutally beautiful, this series requires it's very own descriptive- It is brutiful. Absolutely brutiful. I would share more, but I don't want to take one ounce of the experience away from you. From page one, with the most touching dedication I have ever read, to the closing chapter- perfection. For all the aching sexiness in the entire book (for which there was no shortage), one of my favorite quotes was one simple and honest sentence, "Just to make her laugh."A series that I will read over and over, and feel with the same branding intensity every time. This is romance elevated. A must must MUST read.
