Time has gone by for Ava but the turmoil has not let up, if anything there is more conflict, more emotional upheaval and the stakes are getting higher, the threats are knocking on the door and the reality that the prophecy could be perverted by the mounting numbers of enemies is looming large. The Prophecy by S. P. Cervantes takes some pretty sharp turns and dangerous curves in book two of the series Secrets of Shadow Hill and the emotional triangle between Ava, Dalton and Patrick becomes even more distressing. Two amazing young warriors, and one girl new to their world with the fate of the future riding on her shoulders, would it be easier to follow what has been foretold if Ava were born into the knowledge of the role she played? Could she ignore her confusing feelings? She isn’t the first to want two different men for different reasons, but this isn’t about just the three of them.Ava and Patrick are thrown together after six months apart, held captive and if they are forced to fulfill the prophecy, the balance of power between good and evil will shift. With only each other to cling to, has their relationship changed? Dalton is terrified he has lost Ava to Patrick, the ramifications to his heart are devastating. Will he find them in time to save them both, save the world? What happened to the connection Ava has with him?S. P. Cervantes molded the confusion of young emotions with the pressures of the fate of the world, forcing her characters to painfully straddle the line between the maturity of youth and the experience of years they do not possess. Will the right decisions be made? Your emotions will be drawn taut, then stretched a little further as they ping pong from exasperation with Ava at one point to witnessing some of the most amazing unselfish acts by others. Get ready to take part in the vicious consequences in the fight between good and evil, where no one comes out unscathed, unchanged.I received this copy in exchange for my honest review and I had no idea how involved I would become!Series: Secrets of Shadow Hill, Book 2Publication Date: November 11, 2013Publisher: Center One BooksISBN: 193998503XGenre: New Adult FantasyNumber of Pages: 266Available from: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

SP Cervantes has intensified the emotion and adventure in this second book of the Shadow Hill series. Her love triangle is up their with some of the wonderful adult ones such as Tiffany Reisz’s Soren/Nora/Wes triangle. So charged and full of conflict and emotion. This picks up a year after the first book ends and our favorite couple Dalton and Ava are about to be tested. Patrick will see Ava for the first time in 6 months and they still have a emotional attachment. One that befuddles them both. It is a beautiful mystery how all of the parts in this book intertwines and works together but they do and it is a wonder to see.Ava is torn from Dalton when all seems to be perfect but she is torn with Patrick by her side. They are brought into the world of evil where greed and hunger for power comes into play to try to force these two together. Unfortunately they have strong feelings for one another and this just muddies the water.Dalton is such a strong and amazing character. He has such a strong love and reverence for Ava. She is his equal in many ways. But he is also scared and confused. Lonely for Ava as well. He has no idea if Ava is lost to him to Patrick or the situation and he begins to feel hopeless in what he can do. His neverending faith and love for her helps to bring them into a stronger and more beautiful bond. I feel bad for him and Patrick because they are helpless when it comes to Ava and her constant waffle of emotions.Patrick- what can you say about this amazing young man. He is meant to be a warrior and protector. His love for Ava is never ending and will break your heart. I truly believe though that he is meant to protect all and not just Ava. I also think he would be good for Seraphina. Shhh…don’t tell Erin. As him and Ava are in captivity he shows time and again his love and devotion to her. Also his fierce desire to keep her safe is seen. A great character that will endear you to him.Ava- at times you want to smack her upside the head. She waffles in emotion. Always confused oh I love Dalton no I love Patrick oh I love both what shall I do. Get a grip girl you are playing and toying with these admirable and wonderful guys emotions. My favorites are Aiden and Hannah they are hysterical and so perfect for each other. This is a story of coming to terms with love lost, love that will never go away, and who you are. A adventurous tale and I cannot wait for the next book to see what happens to Patrick, Dalton, Ava, Aiden and Hannah.

In the second installment of the “Secrets of Shadow Hill” series, Ava and her friends find themselves dealing with much more conflict and are experiencing twice the amount of emotions they did in the first book. The love triangle between Ava, Dalton, and Patrick still continues throughout the book, continually becoming more and more of a stressful situation for the characters.I personally thought this book had a really great plot and extreme potential. The characters all had a good base and were all well developed. For a book in this genre, I feel like you need to overindulge when providing information in order to get the plot underway.  To give the reader (and characters) a good idea of what they’re getting themselves into.  I feel like S.P Cervantes did just that in this series. The second book was definitely a massive progression from the first and I think that’s really exciting to see in an author.Cervantes upped the emotion in The Prophecy. There was much more conflict running between Ava, Dalton, and Patrick. In the beginning of the book, Patrick seemed to still be attached to Ava.  At the same time, Ava and Dalton were absolutely infatuated with each other, all of which constantly fluctuates throughout the book. Although this was confusing at multiple times, it was explanatory as to why it was important to the story. The story-line itself is good, however, I feel as if there was too many different things going on at the same time.  In my opinion, when you have a book with many many characters, it’s difficult to keep up with everything especially when alternating POV's.  I think if the POV was either Ava or Dalton the entire time it would’ve helped with the flow of everything and really made the reader have a better look inside their worlds and would’ve released the feeling of a stronger connection with the characters and their individual emotions.Overall, I was pleased with the outcome of this book.  It will be interesting to see where this story leads as there is still much for these characters to sort out.  I thought this was a solid 3.5 stars.A copy of this book was kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review*

***I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review***'Always and Forever' is book 1 in the Secrets Of Shadow Hill series and it would be best if you read it before reading 'The Prophecy' as it will help you know who is who and what is what :DI read 'Always and Forever' right before I read 'The Prophecy' and although I thought it was an okay book, I wanted to see if 'The Prophecy' was any better.Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it as much as I'd liked to have. Don't get me wrong, they're not bad books, I just couldn't get drawn into the action that was taking place. Nor could I connect with the characters, although I did like watching them develop. What I liked: The Love Triangle - Although this started in Book 1, and seemed to have been resolved (well, as resolved as a love triangle can be), in 'The Prophecy' circumstances arise bringing old feelings back to the fore and it does add a bit of spice. The idea behind the story - Ok, so there's other stories out there that are based on a prophecy, but I can't say I've ever read one that has a couple of characters that may or may not be part of that prophecy. Usually it's x & y must marry, mate etc etc for a prophecy to come to life, or it's a prophecy where a certain individual is born and only they can save or destroy the world depending on what path they choose to take. So the twist in this prophecy is quite a neat one and works well. What I didn't like: Character Connection - I didn't feel any connection or empathy with any of the characters, as I said above. Although I did feel sympathy for Erin towards the end of the book.Writing Style: It just didn't draw me into the story, felt like it didn't flow properly, but everybody likes different writing styles, so don't let my opinion put you off.Who would I recommend this to?YA and Fantasy/Paranormal readers aged 14+, although there is some mild violence.Would I read the rest of the series?I think I more than likely would, if only to see how the whole Love Triangle finally gets resolved. Based on my likes/dislikes, I'm going to rate 'The Prophecy' at 3.5 Stars. Maybe the next instalment will grab me and drag me into Shadow Hill.

The Prophecy – SP Cervantes***** - 5 star reviewThe story picks up a year after the first book ends and starts with Dalton and Ava being tested. Ava will see Patrick for the first time in 6 months and while they still have an emotional attachment it isn’t one that either of them understands. Yet. Ava and Patrick are thrown together after six months apart, held captive and should they be forced to fulfill the prophecy, the balance between good and evil will shift. With only each other as a life line, has their relationship changed? Will they be able to overcome everything thrown at them? Dalton, meanwhile, is terrified he has lost Ava to Patrick; the consequences of this are damaging. Will he be able to find them in time to save them? To save the world? There was a lot more conflict between Ava, Dalton, and Patrick in this book than the first. Patrick seemed to still be attracted to Ava and her to him but at the same time, Ava and Dalton were connected with each other on a level that no one else seems to get. This to me is one of the more important “themes” in the books. The characters are fully pressured by the fact that the fate of the world is on their shoulders. They are making adult decisions while possessing the youth of their age. While neither of the characters are really ready to make these drastic decisions; they must. Good and Evil, as per the usual, is on the line here. What will happen? Will good win out? Will Ava finally make a choice? Get ready for a wonderfully compelling ride of young love saving the world and tempting the fates. Book given for review by WordSmith Publicity

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. After reading book 1 "Always and Forever" Secrets of Shadow Hill..By S.P. Cervantes I just new I had to carry on with this series.Book 2 "The Prophecy", is just as intriguing and full of mystery. Not one for Fantasy novels I was surprised at how drawn into the story I was. I followed the lives of Ava and Dalton as if my life depended on it. So much has changed sinced Ava found out that her and her sister come from a long line of wizards. They have had to fight and defend themselves against the Sabintino Coven and now more evil lurks in the shadows waiting to break them all apart. What does this mean for their relationship and for the lives of those they love?I dont want to give even an inch of their story away. A novel full of shock, surprise and suspense. . Definitely a must read..A positive 4 Bombs from me. Reviewed by Jacqui

5 stars. I loved this book. The characters with their flaws are awesome. I love that there is such an intensity in this book that you just don't want to put it down. I read it in one sitting and cant wait for the next installment. I absolutely love the characters in this book, and how everyone flows together. How much detail is put into this book is just phenomenal. I live that it was split into Ava's, Dalton's, and Patrick's POV. It makes the book complete. There is a war brewing since after the last book, but who is the ring leader? When you find out it will be surprising. They end up kidnapping ava and Patrick for months so they can fulfill the prophecy. Will ava end up marrying Patrick or will she realize that she truly loves Dalton? You won't be able to put this book down until you know. There is going to be another book and I just can't wait for it to come out.
