This was such a cute series. As soon as I read the synopsis I knew I had to read it; waking up married to a male stripper. How could I not want to read that? I really enjoyed these books. There is 6 in the series, they are each about 50 pages. I read them all in about 24 hours. I loved how each book picked up where the last book ended. I also liked that the 3rd and part of the last book were from the guys perspective! It was a fun, mostly light read. I would recommend it to others. I will definitely be reading other books by Magan Vernon. I look forward to seeing what other stories & characters she creates!!

Grazie!

Impromptu marriage in Vegas with a chiseled male stripper?  Yes, please!Valerie Wilder is on a business trip with some colleagues when a night of drinking gets out of hand.  One minute she's knocking back shots with her friends and judging a hottest abs contest at a male revue, and the next minute she's waking up with a hangover and a husband.God. This couldn’t be happening. This kind of stuff only happened in stupid movies.Wild Wes is a visual dream with a sexy Southern accent and very healthy libido.  For him, Vegas is just a stopover on his way to L.A., and stripping is just a means to an end.  Unlike Valerie, though, he's not panicked over their hasty marriage, and while he agrees to a divorce, he doesn't seem like he's in any hurry to go through with it.Sure, the whole instantly married in Vegas thing has been done, but that doesn't mean this book is old news.  Valerie is refreshingly realistic in her view of relationships, not thinking they're the worst thing in the world, but also not convinced she has to have one right this second.  She knows she's a little overweight, and she hasn't had the best luck with men, but she's not above the occasional sexual distraction.  And Wes was a complete surprise!  More than just the requisite charmer, he seems to have his own ulterior motive, and he's not really inclined to hide it.  He's more than just a little down on his luck, and while he's a nice enough guy, he's no knight in shining armor. The editing... Well, I'm not exactly sure it actually took place.  There are two main rules for commas, one of which was mostly ignored throughout the book.  And "you can come back to my apartment in Chicago which I share it with a roommate," and "she would love for me to bring a guy home who I don't even know his last name" don't even come close to being proper English. I don't expect authors to write perfectly; I expect them to come up with great stories, tell them in a way that reels me in, and leave the grammar and syntax to an editor.  Magan Vernon did exactly that, and I certainly enjoyed the story.  I'm just kind of pissed off that she got a raw deal on the editing side of things.Since this is the first part of a serialized novel (a bunch of short stories published separately that make up the full tale), it was very short, leaving much more of the story to be told.  That's disappointing from the perspective of a reader who wants more now, but I think it's worth waiting for.  I'm giving it a tentative 3.5 stars only because I have no idea which direction it will go next -- it might be awesome, or it might go horribly wrong --- or what I'll feel for the characters once we get to know them better as their story continues.  But until then, I'll definitely be watching for the next in the series (which should be out in just a few weeks), and I hope to have the chance to keep reviewing as I go.  If you're looking for a quick read with lots more to come, you should definitely check it out.I received this book from Inkslinger PR in exchange for an honest review,

I normally read novellas, but I've seen novella series' become a lot more frequent these past few months, which makes me really happy as they're a new thing and you don't have to wait ages for the next one! When I first heard about this novella series, I was really excited to read it! I first heard about it when I got an email about the Cover Reveal sign-ups for this novella and after seeing the cover and reading the synopsis, I knew I wanted to read it! I love this author's other contemporary books, so I was excited to see what else she had up her sleeve with this series! I loved this novella! It was really short, but quite a lot happened in it! The premise of the plot was actually really funny! I found myself laughing under my breath or at times, laughing out loud! I normally don't really laugh at books, so I was quite surprised that I laughed at this one! I also adored the plot because it was something that could happen to anyone, but probably wouldn't! Unless you're Valerie, of course! The plot also flowed brilliantly and was the perfect length to leave you wanting more after finishing it! I loved everything about it and I haven't really read anything like it before! As I said, it was a really fun plot and it's definitely worth a read! The main character of this novella was Valerie and I completely adored her! She was funny, and had a bit of a wild streak to her as well lol! I won't explain the wild streak too much as the synopsis basically tells you it, but read this book just to find out what she does and how she handles it! It had me laughing so much! Valerie was also such a genuine person, so it made it easier for me to connect with her! I just loved her! Her reactions and the way she handled things was exactly the way I would have! I'm really excited to see how she's going to grow in the remaining novellas! Wes was the kind of love interest of Valerie and he was smoking hot! I mean he was a stripper and everything! What more could you want, right? There were several points in this novella though where I saw quite an almost vulnerable side to Wes and I'm hoping that as these novellas continue, that I'll get to learn more about his background and also what made him vulnerable! Wes added a lot to the humour in this book as well as he was quite witty with Valerie, which was really funny! I cannot wait to read the next novella in this series! I'll actually be on pins and needles to see where Valerie and Wes's relationship is going to head next! I can't wait to read the rest of the novellas as well! The cover for this book suits it amazingly! I love the colouring and, of course, the fact that it has a hot body on the front of it lol! I'm excited to see how the rest of covers are going to compare! Big thank you to Magan for an ARC of One Wild Night and to Inkslinger PR for having me on the Blog Tour!

The idea of marrying a stranger in Vegas has always been a secret fascination for me and would have become a reality had I gotten to go this past year but I digress. After reading The Only One I had a feeling that Valerie would be an amazing and funny character to read about. One Wilds Night was a wild ride filled with hot abs and hotter sex!Valerie Wilder is a character I could absolutely see myself in. She is snarky and funny and a surprise to me she's not the average stick thin woman. She's curvy and vivacious and her past experiences with men have given her a complex about herself making her feel like she's only good for one thing. I could totally understand her mindset of feeling like if she just give sit up first hand then she doesn't have to wait for the inevitable end to the relationship. The way she felt both broke my heart for her and wrapped me around her finger. It's difficult to be a young woman and deal with body issues and discovering Val had her own was surprising to me because upon first glance she seems to be super confident After a night out with her coworkers drinking and judging a hot abs contest she wakes up with the winner in her bed and barely any memory of what happened. I absolutely loved Wes! He was sexy, confident and very sweet. Once they get on the same page about what happened between them the night before the truth about Wes comes out. Vegas was a pitstop for him to make money before he would head to California to make his dreams come true. I was upset with him at first because it seemed he married Val for one reason and my heart broke thinking she would experience more of the same feelings she's been struggling with. He quickly stole my heart with his genuine personality and affection for Valerie. There is more to this beefcake than meets the eye and I can't wait to peel his layer back as the serials continue. One thing I love about the way Vernon writes is how she can grab your attention and deliver a story with a perfect combination of heat and heart. I am extremely excited to find out what happens between Valeria and Wes in the next installment because the way it was left is juicy!

More reviews at The Reading RealmREVIEW:The story:It's a little difficult to review this one without having read the entire series. But I can say that I really enjoyed the first episode! This first episode basically sets up the characters and the story, with Valerie and Wes waking up to find themselves married. And while Wes appears quite happy with his new bride, Val is less than impressed. She can't believe that she could have done something so crazy and impulsive, although the fact that it was with someone as delicious and Wes does soften the blow a little ;) The characters:Wes, with The Hottest Abs In Vegas title, is the epitome of hotness! He's carefree sexy personality is hard to ignore and certainly knows how to have fun.In comparison Valerie is quite a serious character. She's driven with her career and immediately starts to look into getting a divorce. However she's also has very low self esteem, and can't possible see a reason why someone as hot as Wes would want to stay married to her.The romance:Although Wes & Val's romance begins as a one night stand and Vegas wedding, there is an intense attraction between these two. While Wes is open to exploring this attraction, Val works hard to ignore her feelings. It will be interesting to see their relationship grow over the course of the seriesThe Writing:It's no secret I love Magan's writing, so I was excited to see her writing in a new format of a series. Her usual sense of humour is still evident which I love, but this one is a little more sexy and naughty than her other books ;)FINAL WORD:It's a great start to what will be an interesting and sexy series...can't wait for the next installment!CONTENT:Sexuality: strong / sex scenesViolence: noneLanguage: medium / some f wordsDrugs & alcohol: medium More reviews at The Reading Realm

Every three weeks, Magan will be releasing the next part in this fun and flirty series. Because of how the book is being released, I kept imagining this book being played as a telenovela (a Spanish soap opera).Valerie wakes up naked in a hotel room next to a nipple-pierced, tongue-pierced (and something else-pierced) male stripper Wes. But that's not what she freaks out most about; is the fact the she is now married to Wes. As we flash back to the night before, we get to see how Val got into this predicament.Valerie was one of my favorite characters in Magan's book, The Only One, so I was super excited to see her story be told. She doesn't understand how a guy that looks like Wes could be interested in someone like her, but she goes along with it. Wes, I'm not so sure about. From the beginning of this book, I had this theory that Wes has a hidden agenda. He was way too calm about this whole "I am now married to a complete stranger" conundrum. Also, I was not too impressed with a particular choice Val makes even though she doesn't even know Wes!I'm hoping to see more flashbacks to that night and maybe even get into Wes's head to see what the heck is in that mind of his. I like where Magan is going with this story and I cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series.

Valerie Wilder wakes up in her hotel room in Vegas with a naked man next to her. He is naked, gorgeous and wait...isn't he the male stripper that she crowned "Hot Abs" the night before? Well, he is indeed. She can deal with the one night stand, but then she learns that they are married! Things get complicated as she learns she can't get a quickie divorce so she decides to take him with her back to Chicago to get everything settled. This is the first installment in a serial. I did not like this book. The male character wasn't very likable. He married her because she thought she had money ... and admitted her! The female character is a curvy woman with self esteem issues that accepts that men only want her for sex and not for her. The writing wasn't very good and the plot was somewhat implausible. The author seems to ignore the fact that the characters can get an annulment (remember Britney Spears and her quick annulment?). This is pretty much public knowledge considering such famous examples. Another issue I have is ... who takes home to stay with you a man you do not even know just so you can have a divorce done? Really?!Pass.

What happens in Vegas doesn’t necessarily always stay in Vegas – boy has Valerie Wilder learned this the hard way. While in Vegas for a work conference, Val wakes up one morning to a gorgeous stranger in her bed, and she soon learns said gorgeous stranger is her husband – how the hell did that happen? Rewind a few hours and Val remembers being chosen as one of the judges for the Vegas Rock Hard Abs Contest. After being fed drink after drink in the VIP lounge, she and Mr. Rock Hard Abs himself, Wild Wes, find a chapel and get hitched. She doesn’t do serious relationships, much less marriage (to a stripper, no less) but when she tries to figure out how to reverse the situation, she learns getting a divorce isn’t going to be as easy as getting married. Wes isn’t in any hurry to get divorced, so he suggests he go back home to Chicago with Val until they can get everything worked out. Will one wild night in Vegas turn out to be something more? Tune in next time…One Wild Night is a quick, fun, and sexy read, exactly what I needed. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next episode!

I am new to serial stories. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to admit I am hooked!Valerie is awesome. Witty, sarcastic and sweet-she doesn't expect much from guys. A roll in the hay and out the door. She doesn't know what to make of Wes and his talk of "seeing where it goes" . She also sees glimmers of what is underneath the abs and sweet southern drawl. There is definitely more to Wes than gorgeous abs and beautiful green eyes...and piercings. Oh yes, he has a few. I get the feeling he wants it all-everything Valerie has to give-but maybe her heart most of all. Or is he truly just hoping for a sugar mama? She's curious as to who he really is, but will the circumstances of how and where they got married be too much to overcome? Will she stop calling him her stripper husband? Two very different people, both a bit lonely, get thrown together how will it end up? (these last few sentences sound like the end of a soap opera-asking you to stay tuned for the next episode!) I can't wait for the next installment. I want both of them to have their HEA. Together. But I predict I will have to wait a few episodes...

One Wild Night is part one in a 6 book series. It's a quick fun read! Valerie is in Las Vegas on a business trip with her co-workers. They end up at a strip club and are picked to judge a Hottest Abs Contest. Cue in male stripper Wes. Valerie wakes up the next morning to find that her and Wes have tied the knot. Completely mortified that she married a stripper while drunk in Vegas she tries to get a divorce. Unbeknownst to her since both her and Wes do not actually live in the State of Nevada they will have to file in one of their home states. They decide to head back to her home state together and indulge in each other until they can get things figured out. This is a quick fun read and I am curious to see what happens next! It seems there is much more to Wes than he is letting on!* I have a hard time rating a short story like this since it's part of a mini series and I do not have the full story. So I am going to rate these first 50 pages 3.5 stars for now <3

One Wild Night by Magan Vernon4 StarsSince this story is a series of very, very short stories there is not much to review because the synopsis is pretty much right on target! Valerie is on a business trip with her co-workers in Vegas where they end up judging a “Hot Abs Contest”. Many drinks and hours later Valerie wakes up in bed with the winner of the contest Wes. She honestly cant believe that he would be here considering guys like him don’t go for girls like her. She is “thick” and not really this underwear model’s type…or is she? After she realizes that she actually married Wes, they try to get a divorce but cant because neither of them live in the state of Nevada. So they decide to go to her hometown and file for divorce there! That’s about as far as this story got! Will be looking out for the other books to see how this story pans out.

Okay, so I NEVER want to 1 star a book and CERTAINLY NOT a free one, but I couldn't in good conscience provide anything more than one. I was very uncomfortable with all the fat girl references, the comment that she wasn't even a "butt virgin" was so out of left field and just plain "Eeeeeewwwee". (I'm fine w anal in books but this was just so freaking random to throw in there). Him admitting he was just looking for a sugar Momma, his Meemaw... Seriously, his Meemaw?? Come on Man! That's just bad.I sincerely appreciate any author offering her work as a gift to their readers, but this one just wasn't for me.

This is part one of a six part series. While this is a short read, the books hooks you from the get go. Valerie wakes up to find herself married to Wes, someone she has known less than 24 hours. When the state of Nevada can’t offer any help, Valerie must find another solution. Deciding to just go with the flow, Valerie and Wes find themselves stuck with each other at least for a little while. I found it easy to like the characters. You get a small glimpse into who Valerie and Wes are leading up to them being stuck together and I found myself wanting to know more. I really enjoyed the first installment and can’t wait to find out what happens between Valerie and Wes.

Well damn!!! I really want to go to Vegas! I want to be the big girl who wins the heart of Wild Wes....because he is seriously hot!!! This was a fun read and I found myself loving the characters the more I read. I love strong women so I loved Valerie....she is big in body and personality! She is feisty and likes to speak her mind, so what is there not to love. It was also refreshing for the big girl to get the hot, sexy man! And yes he is hot...like really really hot. But you know what...more than that he is really sweet! Cant wait to read all of this series <3

This is probably more like a 3.5, but likely closer to 3 than 4. I like that this story is about a "curvy" girl. There were a few really great lines in this serialized novel that either floored me or had me laughing out loud. I don't usually highlight too much on my Kindle, but I had the highlighter out for this one!Full review to come on Book Wookie on December 17th.

Review originally posted at Ramblings From This ChickOne Wild Night is the first portion of a six part serial by Magan Vernon. I was originally drawn to this story by its beautiful cover. I absolutely loved it! But after reading the blurb, I really wanted to read this one because it sounded like a really fun read. I haven't really read many serials, because the thought of being left in the middle of something and having to wait for each installment is almost enough to kill me. But after reading this first installment, I am glad that I gave this one a shot and I am looking forward to seeing where Magan Vernon takes Wes and Valerie.Valerie Wilder is in Vegas for her job as a PR assistant. When the girls she works with get some tickets to a contest for the best abs in Vegas, Valerie is looking forward to spending the night checking out some hot guys. But when Valerie and her friends end up judging the contest she comes face to face with the hot stripper and contestant Wild Wild Wes. Wes ends up winning the contest and everyone goes to celebrate after. Wes and Valerie end up spending some time together while drinking and the next thing they know, they are running off to get married. Valerie wakes the next morning and at first doesn't remember what happened, but after she finally does she is determined to get a quickie divorce. But since neither her nor Wes are residents of Nevada, they are forced to go to either state they are from in order to file. Valerie and Wes decide to head to Valerie's home in Illinois in order to get it taken care of. Valerie is convinced that a marriage to Wes will never work. Wes however seems to be more optimistic. What will happen when they get to Illinois and start living together? Will they end up getting the divorce, or will their quickie marriage end up becoming real?I liked Wes a lot. Even though he is a stripper, he was really only doing it to make money after his parents kicked him out of the house. He wants to pursue a career as a musician and was just briefly stopping in Vegas on his way to LA. I liked that he was nice and sweet to not only Valerie, but to everyone he seemed to interact with. He was extremely charming and seemed like a down to earth good southern guy. I am not quite sure where I stand as far as Valerie goes yet. I liked her at times, but then at other times I had some issues with her. I think that she seems like she is a little too uptight, but then at other times she seems to just let go and have some fun. I understand that waking up married was a huge shock for her and that she was struggling with that, but at times she was a little bit mean and degrading to Wes. I didn't care for that side of her, but I do understand that part of that is just because of her situation. Wes and Valerie do have good chemistry together though. Even though there wasn't a ton of physical interaction, I enjoyed the ones there were and thought that they were steamy. I feel like we don't really get to know either Wes or Valerie very much since this part is so short, but I am excited to see more of them as their story progresses.Overall, I thought that this was definitely a promising start to this serial. I am looking forward to reading more about Wes and Valerie and I can't wait to find out what happens with them. I hope that as we get more into this story that Valerie changes a bit and stops treating Wes the way she did in this one. One minute she is bitchy to him and about him and the next she is taking advantage of how hot he is and the fact that they are married. I also hope that she stops with her constant mentioning of the fact that no guys have ever wanted more than sex from her because she is a "thick girl". I like that she is real and that she is not model thin. I know that there are guys out there who judge things like that, but there are also plenty of guys out there who like a woman for who she is and not her body type. Wes seems to like her as she is, and I hope that she realizes that sooner rather than later. I recommend giving this serial a shot if you are looking for a fun romance read. I am looking forward to the next portion of this serial and can't wait to see what Valerie and Wes are up to next.**ARC provided by Inkslinger PR**
