I received this book as a freebie at RT15.I know Liliana Hart is a hugely popular author, but I didn't finish this book. It was fine and there were definitely some funny parts, but I got tired of hearing so much about the hotness of the heroine and the two heroes. About two thirds of the way through Whiskey for Breakfast and after reading endless passages about how Addison felt about her ex and how hot she found Savage (really? his name is Savage?), I got tired of the endless back and forth between the Addison and the two men. The mystery was interesting, but I'm not a fan of the "will they or won't they" trope. I'm happy with a slow burn romance, but "will they or won't they" always seems like a manipulative and cheap plot mechanism. Anyway, I checked the description of the next book and decided that finding out who did it wasn't worth finishing this one.

First, if you haven't read the first 2 books in this series. Stop! Go read them and come back to read this third installment. Ok, I love Liliana Harts writing. I've read nearly everything she has written and haven't found anything yet that i haven't thoroughly enjoyed. This book is no exception. It falls in line with the first two books perfectly. The main character, Addison, is fun to read. Im sure there is some characteristic of her that you will be able to personally relate to! Nick.... Well with my bookworm girls he would be one we would talk about quite a bit. Strong, super hot, funny, determined cop. Yep, my kind of character. This book had me laughing out loud quite often. I felt similar to Addison in many ways and loved the humor in not only this book but also the two that came before it. There were a few spots where I was on the edge of my seat holding my breath. A certain crazy socked FBI agent by the name of Savage was the cause of the lack of breathing for the most part. The story flows well from one scene to the next. The writing is very well detailed so that I felt like I had a clear image in my head as I read just what it would look like but not overly detailed like Ive read in some books where the details of what a room looks like go on for ten pages. It's enough to give you a picture to go with the scene, which is the perfect balance when reading. Liliana writes books that make you want to jump into them and experience the shenanigans with the characters. And Addison provides many opportunities to want to be part of the fun. All in all its another great book by a great author. Well done Ms. Hart!

Addison is a former high school history teacher who is now working part-time at her friend, Kate's detective agency. She is studying and training to become a full-time PI. Her cases include the search for a missing old woman (she has changed her name and moved into a different senior's home), a billionaire who is dying and wants to find his only heir (the product of a sperm donation in the 1940s) and a wife suspected of cheating. Because of a prior case, Addison is being threatened by a killer who won't hesitate to use his hatchet.Nick, the police officer Addison had been dating but who broke up with her because of her job, is hanging around her again. FBI Agent Savage is her neighbour and is pursuing her. While she is attracted to Savage, her heart still belongs to Nick.Addison has recently moved (she was living with her mom who had recently remarried) and is pressured into joining the neighbourhood watch, complete with teeshirts, theme songs and strange characters. Rosemarie, her friend and a teacher, has randy boyfriend. Phoebe, Addison's older sister, has recently moved home and is staying with her. This is the third book I've read by this author and I liked it. Though it is the third in the Addison Holmes series, it works as a stand alone. It was a light fun book to read. It is written in first person perspective from Addison's point of view. I liked the writing style ... it was amusing. As a head's up, there is swearing and adult activity.I look forward to reading the rest in this series in addition to other books by this author.Blog review post: http://www.teenaintoronto.com/2017/03...

There is just something so appealing about this series. Addison is a certified hotmess, but ya gotta love her. She falls int solving her cases despite her best efforts to mess things up. It a wonder the girl has survived, they should have a special room at the hospital just for her!I have said in the past that I think Savage is a better match for her in the romance department, but Ms Hart is determined to have us think she should be with Nick. Maybe she is just the girl to get him to lighten up and challenge him. They do have chemistry that peels the wallpaper. The smexy stuff is mostly closed bedroom with hints of details here and there. Things get hot and bothered but never go to full on erotic details. Addison has a way of bringing out the beast in men who are interested in her. I have also noted she rarely gets it on in the bedroom, so many other parts of the house are more interesting! The narrative is still first person, Addison has a quirky POV that makes the series a laugh riot. I do not usually like this tense, but I have found it doesn't bother me as much in audio. Go figure. There are so many lively and dynamic supporting characters in the series. I love everybody and really they are the reason Addison survives all her mishaps! I might even have a book crush on dishy Savage! The mystery this time was a bit all over the place. I would have liked more clues to make it solvable. The end was a but Scooby Doo for me, the culprit came from left field. It was just all over the place and I had a little trouble keeping up with all the sub-plots. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Connie Ventress, who does a wonderful job as always. She has a wonderful Southern accent that makes the character come to life. Great pacing and a soothing tone. She is perfectly matched to the series and I love her energy. Definitely hope to hear more of her reads!Overall, this series is a guilty pleasure. It started out feeling very similar to another series but it is slowly becoming it's own animal. I am hooked and can't wait to see what happens next! Oh boy, that ending was a kicker!!

Another Holmes Hit for Hart!! I want MORE! I've just read the first three books in the Addison Holmes series in the last week! All I can say is I want more!! There is steamy romance, never ending interruptions (usually related to a dead body), and belly rolling laughter! If you need a pick-me up give this series a try, I think you will agree and LOVE it! And now a bit about the story...Addison Holmes is still an unemployed spy in training. She is working to get her PI license, but has to finish at the top of her class on the written test, firearms test, and physical fitness test. Right now she can't run a mile without puking on the neighbors lawn. Things aren't looking good... In steps agent Savage to help her get trained and just as she is getting the hang of it, her house is broken into and her head bashed into the wall, putting a slight damper on her training. Not that Nick minds, he still loves her and hates it when she spends any time with the hot FBI man. Only question is can he recover from leaving her in the hospital with a bullet wound??? And you'll never guess who is the bad guy this time - I was completely surprised - AGAIN!! Plus there is cliffhanger with the results of her test ... will she get positive score on all them? Are we sure she really wants to?Favorite passages: - My stealth abilities had improved by about a hundred and fifty percent since my first day on the job. Which wasn't saying much. It was the same thing as saying a kindergartner could finally use the paste without eating it. - I was almost positive that Savage would be miraculous in bed. Like an oversexed Captain Kirk, exploring uncharted territory. - "He was ugly as homemade sin but he was a good man. That counted for something back in those days you know. Now all women want are rippling muscles and monster schlongs. I read all about it in Cosmo. Those kind of men are good for an affair but not for the long haul."Great work Liliana!!! Can't wait for the next installment!

Okay so I am not downing this book at all, was away to good for a bad review, lol....but I am going to get on the author about ending the book the way she did!! What is that about, so not fair!!! Haha!! Now I am going to have to wait forever for the next one to see what happens!!Okay enough ranting about the ending!! Overall, like the rest of the books in this series (which I re-read before this one)Whiskey for Breakfast was a great, fun and entertaining book. It had my giggling pretty much through the whole book. So much swoon worthiness as well between both Nick and Matt!! Yum!! Addison, she is a riot, still getting herself in trouble with her training as a P.I. poor thing, there are times I almost feel sorry for all the bad luck she has. I can almost relate with her, lol!If you have not started this series, I highly recommend it, you will have so much fun reading these books! Liliana Hart is a great writer and her works is written so well, everything blends smoothly, her characters are believable and even the story seems like it could almost be a real life situation. I definitely recommend these books and other books by this author, she will not disappoint!!

Wow, talk about an author that can make me put sleep on hold to read a book in 24 hrs. Well, I have read the previous books in the series and I'm already anticipating #4. What I love the most about this series is it's a great combination of mystery, love and comedy yet never straying off course of the main genre of mystery. Liliana Hart is a refreshing author that makes reading fun and stirs the imagination by trying to let you anticipate what's next. Addison Holmes is a riot, the 'scrapes' that she gets herself into is hilarious. I don't want to share word for word what happens in the book because what fun would that be? That's like reading the last chapter as the beginning of the book. Just know that you'll enjoy every page of it.

9/10: Fantastic, left me wanting more. These just get better and better. Love the humour.Uncle Milton had been a firm believer in male enhancement and erectile dysfunction medication. Not that it had done him a lot of good in the end. They’d had a hell of a time getting Milton’s coffin closed, and I shudder to think how scarred the poor intern was who was relegated to massaging out the rigor.Love Nick.“I know, babe. Believe me, I know.”I really like Savage too, but hope the love triangle is resolved and not drawn out any longer. Enough is enough now.I was almost positive that Savage would be miraculous in bed. Like an oversexed Captain Kirk, exploring uncharted territory. But it's the humour (and Nick) which makes this series for me.The woman was somewhere between twenty-two and seventy-two. There was too much plastic surgery getting in the way to make an accurate guess, and I was thinking we’d probably have to chop her in half and count her rings if we wanted to know her real age.On to the next!

Ups and downs in the tumultuous love life of Addison Holmes. Lots of good cases, especially with searching for the heir of a rich man who had donated sperm years previously, but knew only a few bits of information on who received the sperm. Another case revolves around s drug lord who has lots of cops and even s judge on his payroll, so he's tough to catch. Addison is confused about the two men in her life. Savage is a good guy, but Addison doesn't give up on Nick, and they go through a complicated process of reconciling. Finally, he changes his mind about not being with her and suggests she move in with him and see how that goes. Addison also meets his parents, each of whom is awful in their own way. Phoebe, Addison's sister, shows up, and she may be an interesting character moving forward. Rosemarie gets involved with a guy and a happy with him. Glad I stuck with this series.

Reviewed by [email protected] Stars ReviewsIn this situation, Addison is going to help find a long lost child for a client, add in things with Nick are going a little strange, and you have a world of funny, interesting things going on for Addison. This book was really good. I really enjoyed the stuff that Addison was going through, however, I didn't like who she picked to be with. I wished it was someone else. Other than that, I thought the book was good and I look forward to more.

Lots of laughs. Definitely rips off the Stephanie Plum novels. The surprise ending could be seen a mile away. When she gets rescued by LARPers it is funny, though it could have been funnier and less condescending. The scene in the restaurant is hilarious. Describing an old lady; "The skin was so loose it looked like someone zipped her up in a flesh colored body bag and dumped her in the river."

Hot and hilariousThe story is wonderful, but the word pictures Liliana Hart paints cause the story to blossom in layers of color. The heroine has a forthright sense of humor that had me laughing out loud.

Best YetI read the first two and didn’t think them much more than something to keep me occupied on long plane trips. But Hart reached her stride by this one. I’m now looking forward to,the next.

Wow what a cliffhanger!I'll say I wasn't too interested in the cases in this story, but they did a better job with the romance in this book. And holy hell what a major cliffhanger to end on! Not sure how people waiting for the next book dealt with this, I would be pissed not having the next nook readily available.
