I honestly don't read a lot of paranormal romance, but if any of the other books in this genre are anything like this one, I can definitely see the appeal. This was very enjoyable to read. At first, we meet Lettie, who appears to be an ordinary twenty-five year old woman aside from these vivid and terrifying nightmares she keeps having. Then she begins to realize they are visions as they end up becoming very real. As the story goes on, we find out that there is a lot more to it than Lettie having psychic powers.I really felt that I got to know Lettie throughout the book. I rooted for her as the story took me on a journey that was full of unexpected events and revelations. She was truly a good person who did make righteous decisions, and some of them were quite surprising, selfless, and noble. Her gay friend, Shay, was one of my favorite characters. He is the kind of friend that any girl would love to have! And then there was Gabe, the love interest, who was handsome and a bit mysterious... On the other end of the spectrum was her sister, Eunice. What a horrible person! If I were Lettie, I would want her out of my life, but I know that's easier said than done when it comes to family. The ending left me wanting to read more. I am eager to see what will happen in the next book. If you are into paranormal romance, or even if you aren't but you want to try one out, then this is a book for you!

This was a wild book! Righteous Decisions (Decisions Series) by Casey Harvell is a well-written, edgy supernatural-thriller – paranormal-romance that combines fresh story ideas with a wonderful cast of characters. Lettie (the main character) develops throughout the book and the author has created her in such a way that we care, in spite of her faults (or maybe because of them). Harvell has the start to what promises to be a great series. Anxiously awaiting book two! Recommended – 5-stars.

This review is in association with The Review Board:I love a good first person present tense narrative and Casey Harvell delivers in Righteous Decisions (Decisions Series). Lettie is a main character anyone could relate to; her attitude and personality so finely honed I often wondered just how much of her personality had been culled from Ms. Harvell’s. Whether heavily or lightly sampled from, Lettie is a character who quickly engages the reader with her modern life complete with all its natural woes: never enough money; a junker car stolen in a moment of pure recklessness on Lettie’s part; a gay best friend who is surprisingly endearing and consistently selfless; incredibly talented yet so unaware of her talent she could take the world by storm if she only shared her work more often (sound familiar, anyone creative??); and the youngest in a family consisting of an older sister and brother. Ms. Harvell’s attention to detail is delicious. She brings her characters to life as if she is writing about the everyday relationships in her own life. I was a bit alarmed at the introduction of a potential dual love interest near the beginning of the book, suddenly full of dread that I had somehow stumbled into yet another formulaic young adult paranormal thriller (think Twilight, The Hunger Games, Nine Lives of Chloe King and so on) so when things took a suddenly swift and paranormal shift away from aforementioned formula-bores I was immediately intrigued and thrilled. There is a slow build to the paranormal aspects of the story which I appreciated. I felt like I got to know Lettie pretty well as a person before Harvell began weaving in the various elements that comprised this riveting novel. The introduction of the two potential love interests was handled marvelously in the association of Stimulus and Cerberus and all the various pairings that could result from such a close and intense relationship. Harvell’s romance is simply… hot. I didn’t expect there to be such a sexual content to the book but this element only served to make Lettie and Gabe as a couple more believable. Delivering enough detail to make sparks dance across your ereader screen, Harvell writes of both emotional, sensual, and sexual intimacy with finesse, using the erotic passages not as gratuitous fluff but actually moving the story forward. This is such a rare find that I can only applaud with gusto. Casey Harvell tells a story in Righteous Decisions that will captivate you with equal amounts of action, romance, intrigue, drama, and paranormal weirdness; all handled with apparent natural talent in combining so many elements into a cunningly yet subtly wrought saga. I found myself sputtering in frustration at the end of the book, not having realized I had arrived and suddenly wanting more. Just a few notes and suggestions, none of which detracted from my overall enjoyment of this read: Formatting: There were no page breaks between chapters in the pdf version; various chapters begin at the end of a page. This is great for e-book conversion but attention to separating the chapters provides a nice thinking/pausing space for the brain and gives the text a more professional appearance. Editing misses: Chapter Eight"There’s no way that in good conscious I can let a pregnant lady sleep on my couch." (conscience, not conscious)Chapter Ten: "I’m still on the creepy guy hit list and my conscious refuses to let this Bernard guy continue on with his drug and slave trading." (conscience)Chapter Eleven, Page 136:"They’re supposed to use full caution that they’re existence remains secret, but sometimes they go rogue." (their. not they're)Chapter Twelve, Page 147:“Your laid up in a hospital bed and asking me if I’m OK?” (You're, not your)Page 151:“And poor Michael, Lettie, you has us both so worried." (had, not has)Page 155:“I should get going though, visiting hours are almost over and Max and I are going out to celebrate my best friends awakening.” (friend's)Chapter Thirteen, page 157:"After my initial scarfing of hospital food it, lost its appeal rather quickly." (misplaced comma or an extra word)Chapter Fifteen included several small editing misses as well, enough that this chapter should merit some revisiting.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The Book description was very short so I was not really sure what to expect. I personally don't read many reviews before hand because I want to have my own opinion about the book. This story line and characters pulled me right in and kept me enchanted right through to the end.Characters I adore... Letti and Gabe of course ( Yum ).. and I love Shay ( such a great best friend ) Lily, Chase , now I wasn't so sure about him at first, you will see why, still iffy about him, and Max!Characters that leave a bad taste in my mouth... Eunice, Bernard, Zane, oh and EUNICE!Letti thinks that she just keeps having reccuring dreams about this woman until she actually sees the woman than she knows they are not just dreams. They are true. Something bad is going to happen and she has to stop it. But that's not all. A series of events happen along with a lot of changes for Letti and her whole life is going to change. I absolutely loved this book it was not what I was expecting. I did not want to put it down and I can not wait to read the next one. I would definitely recommend reading this book.' First of all, the blurb needs to state that this is the first in a serial. This is NOT a series. In a series, there is some resolution at the end of each book. This book ends with a cliffhanger and nothing resolved.I like this story, but some things don't make sense. If Shay is a model, why would he be on the same set with stunt men on a regular basis? Also, I seriously doubt that random models, especially those just starting out, get to bring home piles of clothes from shoots. I really like that this story is out-of-the-ordinary, but please hire an editor and proofreader for future books. This could easily have been a five-star book with a little more input.

This book was a really great start to what I am hoping is a good series. I fell in love with the characters (even the ones I hated, I loved to hate them! *cough*eunice*cough*)What I thought might turn into a formulaic paranormal romance based on the description instead became more of an adventure with romance happening around it. I was quite impressed with how the author took the tropes of the genre and twisted them around to make something really fun and exciting to read.I am going to be looking forward to book two and getting into even more of the lives of these very realistic, and very engaging characters.

I couldn't get enough of this book! A whole new spin on paranormal romance, Lettie discovers her dreams mean so much more than she ever could have imagined. Thrust into a world of good and evil, she finds that it is HER decisions that will decide the path of righteousness in the future.Lettie remains a great character throughout, highly relatable and with a humor about her that everyone can appreciate. Looking forward for book two, and I highly recommend this to anyone who likes to read this genre.

Normally I stay away from first person POV stories with the exception of a handful of authors I feel are successful in writing this way. I now will add Casey Harvell to that list. Though the story was interesting, I found the beginning to be a little slow. However, once the action began it kept me glued to the pages. I was shocked when I reached the end of the story, which I found to be abrupt. Nonetheless, I am keeping my eyes and ears posted for part 2.

I loved this book. It was nice to read a paranormal romance that wasn't another shifter/vampire tale. This story is definitely an original. The author captivates you with the story and humor. I don't want to spoil the twists, so let me just say, wow!I can't wait for book two and to follow Lettie on the next part of her journey!

Great readThis is normally not the type of book I prefer to read but it was a great book. I will now be expanding my books to include more like this one. This book had great details for everything. I felt like I was apart of it. I could picture it all clearly in my head. I can not wait to start reading book two. Definitely a must read.

Full review can be found on The Review BoardOverall verdict: I give Righteous Decisions a timid 3.5 out of 5 Stars. I wasn't swayed enough to give 4.There were quite a few strengths in Righteous Decisions:Style: The style of Righteous Decisions was told in the present tense, and it was conveyed well, with only rare slips in the past tense.Emotional sequences: The emotional sequences, like the anticipation between Gabe and Lettie, as well as when they finally became involved with each other was nicely layered. Although it wasn’t expected in this write, it did place legitimacy to the bond as well as helped to keep interest in the write.Nice mixture of characters I cared about: I really liked Gabe. He’s the type of guy that a woman dreams about in her fantasies or the answer to the question, “What type of man would be your ideal?” I was more invested in Chase, primarily because of his dynamics. For me, a character that is multidimensional in terms of emotions and decisions is a win for me, and Chase provides that. Conflict: Many moments, I felt like I was in the thick of the action. I was using the camera and taking shots of the happy couple. I was the one weighing out the pros and cons of a new relationship. I was the one running for my life at the airport. This was one of the strongest qualities of Righteous Decisions. Here are some elements that could use a bit of work:Hook: I recognized that the author was trying to develop some more back story but I feel the momentum of the story suffered.Main character disconnect: Although Righteous Decisions is centered on Lettie, I cannot fully connect with her. I appreciate that she is flawed, but in the flaws, I wanted to see some progression and maturity in her character. To me, she is too used to being coddled, and she is way too petrified of her sister. It would be different if she was a child or teenager, but she is in her mid twenties. This trepidation seems a tad extreme. I know this is part of a series, but I don’t see enough advancement in Lettie that makes me gung ho to automatically read the second installment.Resolution: This can go one of two ways. For those who are certain they are going to the next installment, the cliffhanger effect is not that much of a deterrent. For one who is still trying to decide, the way the story ended may leave one a bit dissatisfied and wanting a crisper conclusion.Visual wise, Righteous Decisions fared well. Yet, the slowness in some parts had me on the verge of boredom. It redeemed itself in the later chapters, but the author has to be careful not to allow the development of back story to possibly jeopardize the pace that keeps a reader invested in the story. I can only hope that this snag, as well as better improvement of Lettie’s development, can be seen in the next installment of the story, so the Decisions Series will never suffer from Buyer’s Remorse.

I LOVED this book!I had no idea there was any type of paranormal twist so that was a fun surprise! (I don't read the blurbs).Lettie is something else, I tell ya! But I loved her. She's fun and fierce and talented. Who doesn't want that in life? When Lettie finds herself at the top of this paranormal hitlist, shit gets crazy! And it's so fun to adventure with her! You'll definitely want to check this one out, and join Lettie on this insane right. Hold on tight!

Lettie is a photographer who falls in love with Gabe. Lettie starts to notice she is a little different, what confirms her thoughts is over hearing a conversation. I enjoyed the book but never really knew what each 'category' of person meant. The book ends with 15% still left, which always makes me sad. Plus the major cliff hanger! WaAR
