A candlelit dinner later, our lives had changed: the connection was instant and the chemistry as electrifying as ever. It sounds simple, but it wasn't. He was getting divorced, in emotional torment and broke; I was happily married to a man I adored; both of us had young children; and we lived nearly three hours’ drive from one another.” Natasha Jordache AFTER 25 YEARS is a love story with a difference. In the final edition, which contains an epilogue to reveal the end of the story, married author Natasha Jordache has taken the genuine texts she exchanged with a former lover and adroitly transformed reality - where lines were drawn - into a minute-by-minute 'factional' diary of a burgeoning, passionate and scorchingly sexy affair. Tom and Charlotte’s communications offer a unique, organic, funny, sad and highly erotic account of an emerging love triangle with a surprise honesty element. You see, Cha's husband knows everything. Well, almost. This is a novel for anyone who believes in the power of love and hope. For anyone who's remembered an old flame and wondered 'what if?'. For anyone who's contemplated an affair. For anyone who's appalled by adultery and believes it's always morally reprehensible. For anyone undergoing a midlife crisis. And for anyone who will enjoy following the complexities and challenges of a 21st century contemporary romance where the mobile phone replaces a scented billet-doux.You won't be able to put it down. It will make a voyeur of you.AFTER 25 YEARS is sexually explicit and unsuitable for under 18s....

After 25 Years Reviews
Is it real...is it not.. Does it matter?I think text messages have a great power and can add an extra dimension to a story. I am more than happy to read a book of texts so was looking forward to this one. The original back and forth conversations must have been reasonably interesting to want to develop it into a story. There is much discussion in the prelude about how this story began as real text message exchanges but then morphed in to something that, for the sake of the story, only represented a small percentage of original content. I think it either has to be written and marketed as original with only a few minor details (adjusted to respect privacy)....or use the texts as fuel and then make it into complete fiction that is really interesting. Expectations are different if the story is fiction. Readers provide more leeway if it is real. There are a few things that have happened here in this story. Firstly there is not enough lead into the story. We don't have the grounding of their need to be together, their attraction. Secondly the back and forth interaction, if it is fiction as suggested, is not gripping. The personalities of the two are not that interesting either. It's quite repetitive and they throw the 'ILY's' around like there is no tomorrow. Some have issues with the content - cheating - that's not an issue for me, it's fiction!!It lacks the angst required. Basically of you are going to make it up, go to town! It's not a new concept, sometime last year I read a story called Textual Encounters', (more believable) but there is an opening and I think it could be done quite well.Awesome premise but failed to deliver. My suggestion would be to make it one or the other...real or completely made up.
This is a very unique book. It is brilliantly styled to provide both narrative and true communications between two lovers. After 25 Years is the true story of a mature love between two former lovers after years of separation. I guess the old saying "where there's smoke there's fire" is true. Natasha is still mourning a love that had not died; Tom was still wondering what if. Both had not achieved closure all those years ago when they first walked away from each other's love. Through their communications (text messages, emails, etc.), we get a unique perspective from both points of view. This well-written, emotional and poignantly intimate story is a must read for those who have experienced the temptation to resurrect a former love, while wondering what could have been.
After 25 years was written as text transcripts with narratives of both lovers thoughts interspersed. If you are not accustomed to reading works of this kind , remember that this is true texts from the authors and it is astounding the amount of emotion you can read between the lines. As readers we are voyeurs into the struggle between these two ex lovers re awaking desire and self doubt and guilt. The story left me haunted by their bitter sweet journey. I enjoyed this book immensely. Author states possible 3 part series. I await the next part with my tea and a hankie handy. I await part 2
I thought this book was very good, it is a genuine love story that after 25 years and a lot of emails and texts they rekindled their love for one another... I really loved this book and I highly recommend it!! It has you hooked from the beginning!!!
I very much loved this which was recommended to me. I had a lump in my throat at the bloody beginning! This is different to other books out there, where we get to read real messages and texts exchanged between old lovers who almost married, and after 25 years apart still have great love and affection for each other. It's sweet, humorous and seductive. At times hard to read especially knowing that Charlotte has a husband who she loves very much. Just shows that love and lust are two different things. An interesting read. Heartfelt drama, romantic. Not sexy enough for me, but those moments between Charlotte and Tom were sizzling hot!! Worth a read.
The writing of the book by text messages was unique. I had no respect for Charlotte or her wimpy boyfriend from 25 years prior. If she had spent even a quarter of the time with her lovely family, husband and sons as she did texting this imaginary affair she might have found an enriching life but she chose to cheat and lie.I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.
Very enjoyable. Completely different book, based on a true love story. After 25 years they had moved on with their lives but never stopped loving each other. The book is based on true messages between the characters, extremely different feel to this one.
