Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow…oh wait and wow! I can’t believe that I just started this series a couple days ago absolutely amazing story. It has everything that you would want your favorite movie to have. Drama, action, heartache, love, a journey, a message, vivid details, great cinematography and so much more. The book is just as detailed if not even more detailed than the first book Empyreal Illusions and I didn’t think that Awakening the Fire could be any better than the first, but of course I was wrong. Jake Bonsignore has an amazing way with words, and he just draws you in with his word play and paints a glorious image in her mind while he takes you on the journey of Breena and Galbrect. The whole time I was reading this wonderful book I was just thinking to myself how could one person come up with such an amazing story and put so much detail into it. Makes me want to just have a look at Jake Bonsignore’s brain and really just watch how the wheels were turning as he was coming up with this amazing story. It took me back to when I read the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, extremely detailed to the point where you actually feel like you are apart of the story, or you are standing just feet away from the characters watching everything play out. In this sequel we continue with the journey of Breena and Galbrect. Breena continues on her difficult journey to find herself, which in reality is a continuous journey for anybody. I believe that is one reason why I loved this book so much is because I could completely relate with the aspect of someone trying to find his or herself and find the answers as to why things happened as they did. We also get answers in this one that we were left with from book 1. For instance we find out why Galbrect’s family was killed. The story brought on some twist and turns that you won’t see coming and just kind of hit you over the head and leave you thinking “holy crap.” From the very beginning the story holds your attention and never lets you go until the very end. A book like this should be in everyone’s had, no excuses. Doesn’t even matter if you don’t read this type of genre, you will still be just as involved in the book as you were with any other genre you adore because it has a little something in it for everyone. In honesty it could belong to more than one genre. The writing style alone is means for anyone to have a go with this book and the series as a whole. I look forward to reading more work from Jake Bonsigmore in the future.

Empyreal Illusions (The Inferno Unleashed, Volume 1) by Jake Bonsignore*** Book Synopsis ***Fourteen-year-old Breena Taljain’s dreary existence in the slums of Purgaire comes to a sudden end when a chance encounter with a criminal mastermind known as the Patriarch goes horridly wrong. His assault on her for refusing to pay for her mother’s addiction leaves her comatose and teetering on the edge of life and death. Galbrecht Atalir is a washed-up doctor struggling to overcome his inner demons through alcohol and aggression. He never quite recovered from the unsolved murder of his family seven years prior. When he discovers Breena as his newest patient, he knows at once that the Patriarch is the one who eluded him for almost a decade. The medicine Galbrecht gives Breena draws her into a heavenly paradise. When it ebbs away, though, the recurring trauma plunges her into treacherous hinterlands. There, Breena must learn to find power in courage, hope, and love to overcome fiends of hatred bent on permanently ending her existence. With justice burning in his heart, Galbrecht begins a race against time to seek out the Patriarch in the underworld before Breena loses her struggle against the ever-darkening terrors of her mind….*** Gladys #XOXOtheNerdGirl #NerdGirlOfficial ***-This book was provided by the publisher/author to Nerd Girl Official for an honest Review (Review was originally published on blog on July 5, 2014)There is always something to be said about an author who can build a fantasy world in his mind and transform it into a visual masterpiece in the readers mind. Jack Bonsignore did just that. I am a lover and a true appreciator of WORLD BUILDING and of CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. Most of my reviews focus on my appreciation of the authors abilities to weave those two techniques together systematically to make a wonderful debut novel to a series. Jake was spot on! I am impressed! And it says a lot since I often have a “First Date Syndrome” with any new series. I often begrudge the first book in the series. Getting to know the main character, their flow, how they processes their emotions and how he/she moves through the chapter.Breena, although only 14, was a brave girl with such strong emotions that you felt them as if they were your own. You lived in the disparity of Purgaire. You grow to hate the Patriarch for his selfishness and obvious disregard for human life. His existence is the cause of the disparity and fear in Purgaire. Then there is Galbrecht Atalir whose own life is set deep in the death of his family but is overcome with a strong desire to help Breena. The characters are strong well developed and work together. The pace of the book is fast. I bite my nails, sat straight up in the edge of my bed, was grumpy for a few days because Breena was calling me back. I love Fantasy. I love being entrapped in a world that doesn’t exist and feeling the pain the main character felt. I felt it like I was there. She and I was one. Even though it was a dark fantasy, it was breathtaking AND I will read it again. It will be downloaded to my iPad and iPhone for easy retrieval and read whenever I want to visit Breena’s mind and pull the strength she held inside.Jake Bonsignore is an Author to watch! Awakening the Fire is coming out in August and I will be getting that book as well! I am waiting with my hands extended and my heart open!Note: Review has been written in conjunction with Nerd Girl Official. 3.5 stars The story is fast paced and starts off strong, to keep you going. The fighting scenes are pretty well written, the book keeps you engaged without being one of those ongoing fights that goes through 3 chapters with no casualties. I loved following Breena and Galbrecht in their journeys and there are so many more characters to meet, some pretty colorful villains to hate as well. It's great for fantasy lovers.

4 Stars|Goodreads|Amazon My Review: Ahmazing. I could not put this book down. Just like the first it was a page turner that had you on your toes with every coming chapter. Beautiful written the book grips you. You invest in the characters and in the outcome for each one. I often find with a book I attach with a specific character, but with Jake's writing I can't help but fall in love with each. He is truly a master with the art of the word. This story takes us levels deeper into Breena's journey to truly find herself and save those she loves the most. It also throws some very interested twists into the mix. Some I thought I saw coming and others I was happily surprised by.Galbrecht's journey is far from over at the start of this book and we still have many questions that have yet to be answered. With this second installment of the amazing journey we are rewarded with some much sought after answers as well as new reasons to fight.I was so Lost in this book. The chapter styles keep your attention and the world itself is simply breath-taking. It was such a breath of fresh air for its genre. A definite One Click book. Very relatable characters and a unique writing style that keeps you always wanting for just one more chapter. This book was book of the week, week 10 and I was lucky enough to receive a copy from the author to read and review. I read book one last week and I was a little on the fence about it I liked it but I did not LOVE it. This one was much better for me, I found it more adventurous, positive and more full of love, and after such a bleak trek that everyone had been on previously I was happily surprised for this journey."Take a chance, make a gamble, mount a stand, and fight for what you believe in. Sometimes we win sometimes we lose. Those are just risks we have to take." (Breena Taljain)For such a young girl and such a short period of time Breena has been through so much, I believe I kept reading for her, hoping she would find happiness and love, and that she will complete her quest and get some much needed rest with her "beloved". I felt more connected to her in this book and every little triumph she had, made my heart smile. She grew so much in this book from a broken helpless girl to a strong loving warrior."Hope, love, courage, dignity, friendship, loyalty, and faith make our futures. I'll never be empty and numb again."(Breena)Galbrect/Ghariel's story was kind of in the back round in this book but I did get the answers I was looking for concerning his family and I am happy that he found a measure of peace at last.Overall this story really is a story of hope and love overcoming even our biggest obstacles, I loved that and I am glad I got to be on this journey in a beautifully written land, that will take you away if only for a moment.

This is the second novel in The Inferno Unleshed series by Jake Bonsignore and it was week 10's read in my book a week review group. I had the privilege of reading. Book one, Empyreal illusions last week and I loved how this book continued seamlessly from the first. I feel like I could connect o this book better than the first one because I "knew" the difference between the two worlds and I wasn't as confused. Everything was finally making smese haha. I just found it to flow so much better than the first. But I still found thati. Had some unanswered questions.Breena really stepped up her "bad ass" in this novel. She didn't take shit for anyone. She grew up so fast over these two novels. Also she came into her own, power wise. Il iked learning about Galbrecht's family, it was some of the information that I had been craving. I do feel like his story to the back burner to Breena's and I liked it that way. I just really want to now how Breena's parents meet and how her mom became addicted. Maybe someday, fingers crossed. This was a great ending to the series , it really wrapped up the loose ends. I can't wait to read more books by Jake. I would recommend this novel to fantasy lovers.

Again, Jake Bonsignore has written an epic novel, the duality in the book absolutely amazes me. Breena and her cast of followers are amazingly easy to picture as you read about them, the surroundings described so well you can close your eyes and see it all. Breena without a doubt has grown so much more, she's a wonder even to herself. Then you have the doctor Galbrecht Atalir fighting for his life and seemingly his sanity in the depths of a hell he needs to beat for everything he has ever cared for and loved. The depth and breadth of the writing is absolutely astounding, a must read for sure. That's all I am going to say because trying to describe this book defies me...all I know is that it's beautifully written and by a master of words. Mr. Bonsignore, I salute you and look forward to reading much more of your work. Thank you for allowing me to review your book. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

What can I say about Awakening the Fire other then Jake Bonsignore outdid himself again. Better than the first, once again I felt for Breena as she, along with Galbrecht, continued their experience, trials, tribulations. Breena came to not only understand what it meant to find herself and grow-up, but also found what she needed most of all.Jake once again brings to life characters and situations that are true to life and are so vivid that it draws you in like your watching a movie that is to short, causing you to want more as you hold your breath capturing the true essence of the story, through every twist and turn, that brings out every human emotion possible. This another must read book and top of my 2013 reads. Thanks Jake!

It really amazes me when I read this series how much thought and creativity went into writing The Inferno Unleashed. There is so much drama, action and so much more. Jake Bonsignore is a talented author that makes you think out of the box with his writing. His words are so vivid, its as if you can see the writing come alive through each detail. The bravery that comes from Breena and Galbrecht is outstanding you are routing for them all the way. You read about the heart ache and struggle each has been through and you can't help but to feel for each character. There are so many twists and turns with Awakening the Fire, I didn't expect Breena to find the one thing she needed most. I can't wait to see what Jake comes up with next, his work is just epic!!

I have to admit. I wasn't sure I was ready to dig into another big read. Thankfully, I had to know what happened to our young heroine and the man struggling with his own demons as he tried to save her. Wow, I am so glad I kept on reading. I cannot begin to tell you how much this book evolved from the first. Images and sensations were jumping from the pages. Mr. Bonsignore is an artist that paints with a pen (or in this day and age a keyboard). He masterfully pulls you into the book and you feel as though you are walking in Breena's footsteps, Seeing what she sees, hearing what she hears...you get the idea. I felt pulled in directions I couldn't even imagine and am the better for it. I will definitely be looking into more from this incredible author.

This book... Wow. I love Jake's style of writing. He describes everything so thoroughly that you feel you are there. He creates worlds that you want to join and you feel you're actually a part of! This series is so unbelievably believable that I can see people creating their own religious affiliation based on these characters (read: Scientology). I am 99% sure there will be a 3rd in the series. By the two moons of Araboth, there better be!! I'm a big Breena fan. Kickass girl protagonist, plus beautiful settings = 6++ stars in my book!

I loved this book just as much as the first book. Jake is an amazing author and I love the world he has created for Breena and all of the amazing creatures surrounding her. It is an inspiring and creative. I really have no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book. Like the first I struggled through it in parts because of all the inner dialog but it was well worth the little bit of extra time to read and it was needed to help understand the characters better.

I really liked this book and how fast pace it was. I really liked how it showed Galbrecht Atalir struggle to get out of the sin ministry and the truth about his family that was brutally murdered. I also liked that Breena was willing to sacrifice herself to save her friends. I was also really impressed by Breena's courage and strength throughout the book

I liked this book. This book was very well written. This book had some action which is always good to read. This book also contained some scenes about the underworld :) I love reading about the underworld. In this book Breena has more control her fire. again with this book I loved the authors imagination and ability to immerse you into their world.

This book was waaaaay better than the first for me. It kept my interest the entire way thru. More adventures, more characters to fall in love with... a lot of strife, action and growth. Breena and the Dr both grew tremendously in this story. I loved how all the characters came together. I didn't really like the ending, I thought it was strange, but it fit with the book, so it worked.
