See more reviews at my blog! picked up literally right where Riptide left off. Mari is left standing outside Trystan's door after his dad tackled him. She does the brave thing and goes into the house. Things unfold in a terrible way and someone almost dies! I know right! Things for Mari and Trystan change after that. There is some serious guilt on Trystan's side of things. It was because of him that all that happened to Mari. But, Mari stands tall. She is one heck of a girl. She is able to withstand a lot. Especially, after what happens and from her parents. Her parents are pretty much terrible. I have a hard time liking them even a little bit. Her and Trystan are soul mates. Seriously....They fit each other so well. They are each other's rock. That light at in the dark that keeps them going. It really is the perfect love story. Things take another turn at the very end of the books. Things are forever going to change and I don't know how it will turn out for them. I desperately want them to be together!!!Trystan is the silent hero. He puts on an amazing show for the world even when something horrific happens to him. The guy has been through enough. I really hope his luck changes. He truly cares about Mari. His feelings are so well written it's like your really inside his head. Just perfect. Trystan is in need of a new life. As long as Mari's in it I don't think it would matter if they lived in a box or a mansion. True love!I LOVE this series! If you haven't read it yet then now is the time!! Get all the novella's and catch up!

WHY H.M. WARD?! WHY DO YOU DO TORTURE ME AT THE END OF EVERY BOOK!?!?!?!?!?!??! D: ... Now that my drama queen personality is over, I must say say that this book is just as fantastic as the others in the series! The story continues right after what happened in the 3rd book and it gets a little intense. I was on an emotional roller coaster from fearing for Trystan and Mari's life, feeling all warm inside from their romance, hating Brie's guts with a fiery passion (as well as Mari's parents), and wanting to bang my head against the wall was we are once again left with another cliff hanger...hence my distress in the beginning of this review. If you've been following this series, why the heck are you reading this review? YOU SHOULD BE READING THE BOOK NOW! And if you haven't started the series yet, I highly suggest you do because you're missing out, specifically if you're a huge fan of contemporary romance novels!(: Definitely can't wait to see what happens next in the series!

2019-03-02 09:43 stars -- Well that synopsis is horribly short. After such a major cliffhanger, I didn't realize that I never went on to find out what happened next (probably b/c this book wasn't out yet), so this was my first read through! I find that while I'm still really interested in Mari and Trystan, I'm not sure if this style of serial novella series is for me. It feels like not enough happens in each book, and I don't know if it's just me, but these books definitely feel shorter than the 200 pages they claim to be. It takes me less than 2 hours to read them. So it doesn't feel really satisfying.I will say that I was kind of disappointed in the predictability of the story -- totally saw what was going to happen with Brie. Totally called Trystan briefly trying to push Mari away. Sometimes I don't mind a predictable storyline, but I might not be in the right frame of mind for it right now, kwim? But I'm invested at this point, so I will finish this, I just doubt I will bother getting involved in any more of these kinds of series by this author. It's just not to my *personal* taste.

Trystan's grip on keeping is life a secret is slowly loosening. Mari knows about his father and now after the last incident he has nowhere to go. He knows Mari deserves more than him - but loving her is the only good thing he has to hold onto. This one felt so much shorter and I could not imagine the pain of waiting for the next one for those who read this months ago! Part of me feels that at 33 I should feel wrong about wanting to snatch up a HS girl, but Brie is seriously making me want to hit a minor.I am not sure what to expect with part 5 that is an upcoming release after the mention of Trystan the other series - but I just know I want some serious damage to come to Brie.

I can't believe I wasted money on this series. The writing is awful, stale, lacking any type of emotions.

My rating for this book is 3.0 stars.

You can find this review at My Favorite ThingsShattered by H.M. Ward is the fourth book in The Secret Life of Trystan Scott series. Book three ended with a very violent altercation between Trystan and his abusive father. Trystan tries to make his escape out the front door and comes face to face with Mari. In order to protect her he slams the door closed screaming at her to run. Intense, huh? Book four begins right where three left off.Mari's desperate attempt to save Trystan by placing herself in the path of danger is touching. His reaction to her sacrifice gives him the strength of will he's needed to finally fight back and defend himself so he can, in turn, defend Mari. When the dust settles, after the police have left, Trystan and Mari still have to deal with the secrets, the Brie drama, and Mari's distant, coldhearted parents. Despite everything, they are the glue that holds each other together. They will need this glue when the secrets are outed and the world finally finds out who Day Jones really is.Trystan looks at his hand, still clenched tight. That fist. Oh god. He didn’t want to fight back. Fighting back makes it worse. Fighting back makes him like his father. The moment remains perfect, as if it’s suspended in time. We cling to each other, hoping to God that there’s more for us, that there’s a way I can hold onto him. But, Trystan is like a snowflake. I’m afraid that if I try to close my hand around him, he’ll disappear from my life. There is no hope. There is no peace. Accepting it makes it easier to wade through the day to day stuff. I can be talking about the most horrible thing that ever happened to me, but with you here, the pain lessens. I feel like I’ll get through it and everything might be all right after all.Trystan’s heart slams into his chest, thumping harder and faster. His breathing becomes jagged as his body tenses. They know.

Check Out More Swicked Awesome Reviews on my blog!!!!! :DMe + This book + Chocolate = Paradise. In this book, Mari and Trystan come back to finish where they left off. Katie and Seth also return, and I must say, Katie is my absolute favorite character in this series. The main conflict in this book is a good one. Trystan gets into a situation where he needs help(Can't say anymore than that), and Mari is having trouble with her parents.Whenever I read a Trystan Scott book, I find myself enjoying it so much that I ignore everyone and everything around me. It annoys some people, but I frankly don't care. Why? It's a swicked awesome book.(view spoiler)[Swicked: A mix of swag/super and wicked. Used only when a book is completely and totally awesome through and through. (hide spoiler)]So, I see a lot of people complaining about how short these books are. Here is what I have to say to that. Ahem. *clears throat*. "It's an awesome book. Who cares if it's short? IF IT'S SHORT, THAT MEANS WE GET A LONGER SERIES; WHICH IS ACTUALLY IN OUR FAVOR." :) That is what I have to say.Now let's take a moment for me to think about what my favorite part in this book is. *thinks* I have to go with the part where Trystan earns a new respect for Katie when she argues with Seth. Best. Part. Ever. The ending of this book, like the previous one, is a cliffhanger. Then I realize that there's going to be a 5th book and I'm so excited! Then I go:Now, this I have to say. I feel terrible for Mari and Trystan. Their parents just flat out suck. Which is sad, because they're such good characters and deserve better!Anyways, this book gets..*DRUMROLL* 5 SWICKED STARS. It was awesome. It had swag. It was wicked. It was cool. It was swicked. It gets the official seal of awesomeness. If you've read the previous 3 Trystan Scott books, get this one. Also, if you've read or taken a peek at Kiera Cass's 'The Prince', get this series. I mean it.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Well that started off really intense! *SPOILERS AHEAD* I don’t get why the police arrested Trystan though. The cops clearly state that they realise the situation when they ask him to write down what happened. The cop tells Trystan “Your old man beat you one too many times...things got out of hand. I know how it goes.” Mari is also telling them what happened and that it wasn’t Trystan’s fault. Trystan is also hurt and yet after all that they still handcuff him and take him in?! I am so confused. Why did the cops have to speak to Mari’s parents? I get if they wanted to offer her a ride home and make sure she is okay but I am really confused. And where was Trystan’s dad in all of this? All of the conversations the cops had with both Mari and Trystan were also so unbelievable and ridiculous. Most cops are professional.I feel so bad for Trystan...he feels so ashamed of himself and his life, even though Mari won’t judge him and it isn't his fault. I want to just give him a hug.I noticed again in this book that the author changes the POV from third person to first again. It is so jarring and I wish she wouldn’t do it. She only does it for Chapter 8 and 12 in Mari’s POV. I think the entire thing should have been in first POV from their alternate perspectives. In my previous review I really didn’t like how Mari punched Brie, how one-dimensional Brie was portrayed and I thought it was a bit dramatic how Mari acted when she was asked to apologise to her. I actually didn't think it was that unreasonable. Her parents don't want to get sued. I think even really nice parents wouldn't be happy at this situation and I think an apology is more than fair. This also ended on a cliffhanger as the previous novellas did. One more to go!|Featherbrained Books Blog | Twitter |

They're both beaten and bruised. When Trystan is told he can finally leave he goes to the only safe place he knows, the school. And that's when everything shatters for the both of them.Wow, first of all I was lucky enough to get to read the Trystan Scott series back to back which has helped tremendously. Too bad for me now though because that ending is so...well just like Holly, leave you hanging even in the last minutes. It sucks a whole crap load. I saw the last line and was like. "No no no no no! That is not the ending." There may have been some hair pulling, and a tad bit of tears shed with that one.Shattered is awesome. The perfect title for that insane ending and definitely left me wanting more. Can't wait to read the fifth novel in this amazing series, as I know H.M. Ward will not disappoint. I hope everyone checks this series out, because I know they will love it as much as I do.Oh and loving the new covers!!!

I loved this book, this series is so good. I could not believe what happened at the very start of this book, yes it picked up right where the last one ended but I still could not believe what is father did. Then I did not understand why the police acted the way they did and it broke my heart how Mari's father spoke about her and what she must of been doing that night. Once again Mari and Trystan together is beautiful, I love them as a couple, they complete each other. It hurts my heart to know that Trystan has no where to go, not really, yes he can stay with her but it is still not the same as having your own home. I think it is so special that Mari gets to step in and take over the role in the play and everyone loves her. I think Katie and Seth would be great together, there is chemistry there already. I hate what happens with Brie, what Mari is made to do and then what Brie ends up doing at the end of the book. Once again I love reading about the times they spend together just getting to know each other and loving each other. What happens at the end of the book is terrible, Brie doesn't think of anyone but herself and now who knows what will happen. Can't believe there is only one book left and then I have to wait until October for the novel which is based on his story 3 years later so I am curious what is going to happen in the next book.

Brilliant is the word that come to mind about this story. The style of H M Ward is just that Brilliant. I have read a lot of the different series that the author has written & enjoyed all of them. The real feel that the characters have & the emotions they make you feel as you follow this journey with them are masterful. No point getting me started of how bad I feel Mari's parents treat her, emotional & physical abuse can be thought of differently but I feel they can have the same results in the end. What Trystan & Mari deal with in this part of the story is both beautiful & then hurtful. They are still kids that have had no love to help them grow. So the fact they are as well adjusted as they are is a credit to them in spite of their parental guidance. I just hope their love will be enough to help them through what is to come. If going by how it leaves off at the end, it's going to be another bumpy ride, but as if it was going to be easy. Maybe this could be plan B for Trystan to make himself financially sound, just wish it wasn't Brie behind this exposure & hoping she doesn't get between Mari & Trystan even though that's obviously what she is planning.I think Seth has other plans for Mari aswell. Hoping & praying for Trystan & Mari's love to win out in the end.Waiting for part 5.

This installment of Trystan's story is mind boggling!Trystan's horrible secret is found out by Mari. When she has trouble with her own parents, Mari goes running to Trystan and finds herself in the middle of Trystan's personal hell. After finding out his most private secret, Trystan is certain he'll loose Mari. It will kill him, but be good for her to get away from him so he doesn't bring her down with him. He's shocked when Mari doesn't even think twice about staying with him.Mari must deal with Brie and the pending lawsuit by order of her parents. When she comes home from school one day Brie is in her room waiting for an apology that her parents make her give to avoid being sued. Once Brie leaves Mari notices something different in her room, but can't pinpoint what it is. She sneaks Trystan in and out of her house when her parents are gone at work because he no longer has a home.Brie has acquired knowledge that exposes Trystan as being Day Jones........

In volume 4 of the Secret Life of Trystan Scott, we see Trystan and Mari's relationship develop even more. They turn to each other for strength to survive abusive relationships at the hands of both of their fathers (one emotional and one physical). They rely on each other to be their shelter in the storm. This volume ends on another cliffhanger when Bri tries to out Trystan as the mysterious internet sensation Day Jones to a reporter. Will their love be enough to keep their lives from completely shattering? The series is coming to an end, only one more volume left. We can start to feel both Trystan and Mari's lives taking a change. I am on pins and needles waiting to find out the conclusion to their story. Will they both follow their dreams? Will they find a way to stay together and make their dreams work? Or will they start a life together and make all new dreams for themselves? I hope the answers will all be revealed in volume 5.

After the ending of Riptide, I could not wait to start Shattered, and it definitely started off with a bang! The beginning was really intense and had my heart in my throat as I was reading. Unfortunately, that was the best part. After these events, both Trystan and Mari are all messed up, and Trystan tries to push Mari away, believing he’s not good enough for her. This really bugs me in books (movies/television/etc). I can’t stand when both people care for each other, but one tries to push the other away for “his/her own good”. So frustrating!Mari’s parents were as frustrating as ever in this book. Seriously, both of them are just such jerks that I wanted to reach through the pages and punch them both. And Brie is back to her old tricks. Ugh!The ending didn’t come as a huge surprise, but I was interested to see how it would pan out.

Mari and Trystan deal with the aftermath of the altercation with Trystan’s dad. Mari’s parents only seem to be worried about a lawsuit, not the health or well being of their daughter. Mari offers Trystan refuge, promising to keep his secret safe. The two begin to see that neither has the best home life. Mari’s parents force her to apologize to Brie to avoid a lawsuit. What she didn’t know is that Brie would be waiting for her in Mari’s bedroom. Brie makes sure to ‘warn’ Mari that payback comes when you least expect it. Consequences will occur as a result of Mari’s altercation with Brie. Neither would suspect what is lurking around the corner. In true HM Ward fashion, we are left wanting more!

Another great book in this series but these books are definitely too short! I got sucked in with a freebie with book one, great tactic because now I'm addicted! I find that I'm really liking this young adult series and am hoping that this story will start to jump ahead with regards to time and we get to see an older version of Trystan and Mari and how their relationship evolves and where they're lives are at as adults. In this installment, Mari has sealed the deal and made enemies with a girl name Brie who just so happens to find out one of Trystan's secrets. Ends in a cliffy where Brie sets Trystan up and the world is about to find out his major secret.

DISCLAIMER TO MY FELLOW GOODREADERThis review is my personal opinion and may contain: spoilers, quotes, rants, cussing (sometimes I cannot help myself) and a possible full on recap. I in no way want to ruin anyone’s book reading experience so please read my words with caution.Well things certainly did come to a head and I want to THROTTLE Brie. I just knew with a sinking feeling she was going to expose Trystan after being in Mari's room. What. The. Fuck. Cliffhanger – yes (book 4 of series)POV – Mari and Trystan

The books starts off where book 3 ended. It hits the ground running from the first word as book 3 left off with a cliff hanger. The bullying that these two endure at the hands of their parents makes me cringe, and as the reader I am happy they are finding comfort in each other. After finishing this book I can say HM Ward has another 3-4 books at minimum in the series in order to sum up the story and do it the justice it deserves. Fingers crossed they break in between is not too long because as with her books I am addicted.

I'm irritated by these characters taking shit from everybody and letting them run over them. They take it from their parents and let Brie do what she wants to them. I can already guess they will let Brie tell everybody that he is Day Jones and he wrote the song for her. They will stand there and let the world think Trystan is in love with Brie. THE END. that pretty much sum's up H.M. Wards writing. This series reminds me of The Arrangement and not in a good way because it just seems to be book after book and the story never moves forward.

Talk about shattered! Wow things seem to be going ok but then everything shatters! Can Trystan not catch a break? Brie really needs more than her nose smashed, damn that girl is getting on my nerve. What does she think exposing Trystan is going to do for her? She needs to be smacked down a peg. Mari has to stand up to her parents It might seem like a losing battle but this is something she has to do. OMG I'm totally loving The Secret Life of Trystan Scott!!

Book # 116 for 2013Have I said I hate Brie enough? That girls gonna rot in hell. :-PAnyway, this series was very entertaining but I was getting confused coz it feels like I've just been reading snippets of the whole story every time. Every book's like a big freakin' chapter. But I enjoyed reading it. I'm not sure if I'll continue to read the next books though. I think I've had my fill of Trystan. :-)

As the story of Mari and Trystan continues, the storyline get's more intense with every chapter. It's addictive really, and I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad that with each book in the series, the stories are shorter and shorter in length. I can't wait to find out how the saga ends, but I know that when I'm done reading this 5th book, that I'll wish there was more. That's just how H.M. Ward works her wonders!

Mari and Trystan finally find out each others lives! Now there connection is much deeper than before with everything that happened. Especially to their own classmates who don't even realize whats going on between them ;) seriously each time they get into a deeper connection and i just love them as a couple. Plus with the cliffhanger that Ms. H.M. Ward left us with, ......... -sighs happily- i just cant wait for the next part. And I already can guess who leaked the identity....

Trystan and Mari are great together. They both love each other and truly see each other for the real person inside. They both have had horrible childhoods. Trust has been physically abused for years by his drunken father. Mari comes from a wealthy family who verbally abuses her and doesn't love her. They need each other so much. but True fan is fixing to be discovered as the secret heart throb internet singing sensation. Their lives are in for a huge change.

My heart is beating so fast right now, I can barely type. This part of the story was so touching and emotional. The cliffhanger at the end has my mouth wide open. I'm anxious to read part five, so this will be quick. H.M. Ward absolutely did an amazing job with this series, just as she did with her other series. If you haven't read The Secret Life of Trystan Scott series, then you absolutely should. This has been a great read so far and I'm anxious to see how it will end. Time for Revealed!

I have read almost all of HM Wards series and this one by far is my least favorite. The story is completely slow...the build up to something happening occurred several times and there was potential for it to be great but it fell short each time. I can't believe it took 4 books to out him as Day Jones and I knew that Brie would be the one to do it...completely discouragingly predicable

Loved it! Mari tries to help Trystan and it all back fires. Will these two recover from this tragedy? I can't help but wish that Trystan and Mari will have a HEA. After what Trystan has gone through in his life and Mari being the girl of his dreams. A great read. I couldn't put the book down. I am sooooo ready for book #5!!!
