Years ago shy un-confident Jess poured her heart out telling Jack, the man of her dreams she loves him, in return the drop dead gorgeous Australian sex on legs turns her down and walks away.Ten years later she is older and wiser, she has just quit her dead end job and broken up with her no good cheating ex. Whilst stepping in for her ill mother and assisting with the planning of a wedding she comes face to face with the heart breaker Jack again and this time she is not going to back down until she gets him covered in mouse and in her bed!Jack however has always been a firm believer in the never getting down and dirty with one of his best friends sister pack, was that way ten years ago and still has to be this time. But he does not count on Jess showing off her new found inner vixen side. Yes, you guessed it he falls for her sexual interludes and he falls hard, but he knows he is still going to need to walk away. The main characters in this book were well written, Jack is a average guy, okay so I lie he is sexy as sin and not average at all, and despite his stardom status does not walk around with his head in the clouds. He does however have some emotional demons lurking behind his eyes and Jess is the woman to break the chains and set his ever persistent ideas on loyalty free.Jess was a breath of fresh air, determined to get her man and not afraid to really let go and show the world that underneath the dull, librarian is a sexual tigress just waiting to let loose! The backdrop settings were fun and exciting bursting with glamour and dripping with sexual heat. The descriptions given by the author were detailed and I as reader could easy picture the island in my minds eye. The dialogue screamed sensual heat, sexual tension, buried emotions and unspoken romance. What I loved was the author showed that everyone is always good enough to someone no matter how much you doubt it, that special someone will show you that you matter. This was a sexually charged read from one of today's best selling authors.A must read for those looking to escape to a setting of racy sex filled nights, passion infused romance and tender heart felt spoken moments. 5/5 star review" She's gone bad, very, very bad all in the name of getting her man"

Sizzlefest 2013!!!!!!First Off WOW that was awesome!!!!I'm a huge fan of the idea of brothers best friend or when a couple have known each other for years and held a torch for one another it just makes it all the more forbidden and the drama it creates is intriguing.YUM!! YUM!! YUM!!!!! to the Aussie Lead male, being Aussie myself I already have first hand knowledge on how hot our guys are and how sexy the accent is.The characters are original and interesting and oh so hot!! I loved Jess she was a firecracker of a thing she is the product of being the good girl the timid, shy girl who never feels like she is enough, after her last relationship fails she decides no more miss nice girl time for a little walk on the wild side and in walks Jack just at the perfect moment. Jess is HILARIOUS!!! The endless torture Jess puts Jack through is hot, sexy and funny, their playful banter is so humorous that in some parts I was sitting there reading with a huge silly grin on my face. OMG Jack, how I love thee let me count the ways. Jack is a chef and if you dont just die from his sexiness you might from the food he cooks. Jack was an immensely wonderful lead, he really didn't want to get himself into the predicament of being attracted to his best friend's sister, he really has it bad. His reason for not wanting to be with Jess is understandable and you really feel for him he would lose so much if he does something but he also realises he will lose just as much without going for it.This does just start out as a sexy fling for Jess and she chooses Jack as she can feel comfortable and safe while still being able to be reckless and wild. The sex scenes were hot and Jack played his part well the whole being about her bit is one of Jack's many endearing qualities. As a couple they really work well together willing to give up their insecurities is a huge accomplishment and you can see how they grow to love one another, I mean 10 years holding a torch is a long time. The ending left me wanting more which is good since their is Reid's story next (Jess's Brother), cant wait to read this one hope Jack and Jess cameo in this though would love to find out if the relationship has developed even more. All up a great story with great characters, sexy love scenes, HOT cover (I mean just look at it) and some HILARIOUS banter, definitely worth your time.

Jess Harper is tired of being a good girl. She's had her heart stomped on twice and now she's got a shot again with the guy who broke it the first time, Aussie chef Jack McVeigh, while she steps in for her mother and organizes the wedding of a Burlesque Bombshell, Zazz. Jess decides to see if things will go better this time around with some lessons and tricks from the Bombshells. Will Jack be able to resist her a second time? Will the wedding go off as planned? And why is Jack trying so hard not to give in to the temptation Jess presents?I loved this story. Both Jess and Jack are very likable people. Each has insecurities from past relationships, romantic or otherwise and while they think they aren't right for each other, resisting seems to be futile. The chemistry between them is scorching and the story is fast paced. Reid, Jess's brother and Audrey, the Bombshell's accountant also had chemistry that has potential to explode and I look forward to the next book featuring them. Jess and Reid's cousin Chantal was also another character I really liked and I hope she gets her own story as well. And what can I say about Nicola Marsh? Her books keep getting better and better and I can't get enough of them.

Review by TashNzBrash is Book 1 of Nicola Marsh's Burlesque Bombshell sizzling series. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, yes? Well, once Jess Harper is re-introduced to her childhood crush, who just happens to be her brothers best friend, Jess throws caution and her cooped up boring stodgy life to the wind and wants a whole lot of lovin to happen in Vegas, with Jack firmly in her sights as the target of her lovin'.Ten years ago Jack was just an outback chef, now he's a sough after michelin star chef with the world at his feet. He owes Jess's brother (and hero of book 2) for this, along with the groom of the wedding he's been asked to cater for. Jess is the wedding planner due to her mum falling sick. Jess has had enough of being the perfect daughter, sister, librarian and at the risk of being humiliated she sets about getting Jack to notice that she's not a lil girl anymore. Some hilarious results but you know what they say... practice makes perfect! Trouble is Jack knows she's not a lil girl any more but she's still his best mate's lis sis.Much to Jess's delight they are flown to a beautiful island to plan the wedding... perfect location for operation "jump-jack"! And I know what you're thinking... is that blindfold on the cover used? Yeeessss it certainly is!There's no holding back in terms of heat... it's off the charts! A fast read and a fun read that's highly enjoyable. As I write this Book 2 Blush has been released and both Jess and Jack frequently feature. Book 3 is coming in 2014.Don't walk past this series if you want a bit of fun and escapism, Brash and Blush perfectly hit the spot.

After ploughing through Before I hastily bought this book in sheer desperation to read the end of Jess and Jack's story. Marsh completely sucked me into the lives of these two characters and I needed to know that they were going to end up together. I just loved how this book started. Jess has finally decided to be a bad girl for once and who better to do it with then hot Aussie Jack? Every emotion that Jess felt was imprinted on my soul and I wanted to strangle Jack for being such a moron and pushing her away. I take my hat off to Marsh for being such a masterful storyteller, these books are short but they don't feel that way and you really do go through the whole spectrum of emotions while reading. There's plenty of hot steamy scenes, funny banter and just the right amount of frustration. I'm loving this series and I've got to read the next one.

Reviewed for Confessions From RomaholicsTo see review at ConfessionsBrash is the first in the new series about the Burlesque Bombshells, a dance venue in Las Vegas where what happens behind the scenes get everyone talking.Jess Harper is in a rut. Sick of being “the good girl”, she ups and quits her job as the small town librarian in her hometown of Craye Canyon. The last tie to her hometown is broken after being dumped by her fiancé who called her “frigid”. What she does next is anyone’s guess but for the moment she in Vegas helping out as a wedding planner since her crazy, vibrant and brash mother is in rehab after suffering a stroke and milking Jess for all she’s worth. Jess’ brother Reid is in politics and her cousin Chanel is the owner of Bombshells. Jess has always been the quiet one, but it seems her time to be brash is just around the cornerThe bride in question is the premier dancer of Bombshells. Zazz is marrying one of the richest men in Vegas, Dorian Gibbs, who has spared no expense to please his bride by flying in a Michelin Five Star chef, a chef who happens to be an old friend of Dorian and Reid’s. However, Jess didn’t get the 401 and left fuming and flustered as Dorian is also a guy from her past who she was interested in at one time.Jack McVeigh, the guy she met ten years ago in the Aussie outback shared a searing kiss she still remembers. Back then, Jack was only a cattle station cook but Reid gave him a break by getting Jack an apprenticeship. Later on, Dorian gave him the money to start his own restaurant and the rest is history. Jack felt obliged to Dorian and Reed, so Jack broke Jess’s heart because Reid was her brother, and he didn’t want to break his trust. At the time, Reid didn’t think that Jack was good enough for her.Growing up in foster homes, Jack has never forgotten where he came from and works hard. Cookie, his restaurant, has a cult following, Michelin rating, and he has the honour three times in a row of being Australian Chef of the Year. When Jack walks into the changing rooms and spots Jess holding tassels to her nipples, he instantly wants to see Jess naked with only them on. However, Jack is still feeling the same as he had years ago; very unsure of himself and he still doesn’t want to want to break Reid’s trust. He turns Jess down but the girl has grown up and won’t take “no” for an answer. With the help of Chanel, Zazz and Bombshells accountant Addie, Jess decides to have a makeover “Bombshells style”. A brash and sassy Jess tells Jake that she wants an affair and if he won’t comply then she go looking for someone else … will Jake meet her terms?I was expecting a good hot story from an author I adore. She didn’t disappoint. We get a steamy “hot fest” as the girls of Bombshells and their friends show us how things are done. The title says all you need to know. Jack doesn’t know what hit him once Jess became Brash.5 couples and I can’t wait for the next Bombshells story as those girls will surely weave their own brand of seduction once again on some unsuspecting man

Roped into planning her cousin's wedding, Jess can't help but wish she had some of the same seductive grace that the burlesque dancers at her cousin's club possess.  It would certainly come in handy right about now, when she unexpectedly finds herself not only face-to-face but working with the man who first stole her heart so many years ago.Jack's career has taken off in ways he never expected, and he owes it all to his good friend, Jess's brother Reid.  He'd never do anything to compromise their friendship, which is why he resisted Jess that summer they first met, and it's why he's determined to resist her now.  If only that were possible.  With some advice from her cousin and the other burlesque dancers, Jess turns up the heat, and for all his good intentions, Jack can't possibly turn her down again.Jess and Jack's attraction to each other is undeniable, and it flares up with the same incredible intensity it had in Before.  Only this time, maturity and freedom are on their side, and they can finally do something about it.  He may be a world-renowned chef, and she may be an independent, talented wedding planner, but inside they're exactly the same people that fell in love all those years ago.  A beautiful island and lots of alone time can only lead to one thing...The ending was very sudden and extreme.  One moment they were fighting it out, saying things they should have been telling each other all along, and the next... instant happily-ever-after.  Don't get me wrong; I wanted them to work it out.  It was just happened so fast that it felt like the end of the book was rushed, like the story was at it's word count limit and the author had no choice but to wrap it up.Still loved the story.  It was a wonderful conclusion to what I started reading in Before, and it was great to see that despite the passing of a few years, everything they'd loved about each other remained.  They may have grown up and made lives for themselves, but everything that made them so perfect for each other the first time around just got stronger.  And of course, as adults who were entirely capable of making their own decisions, they were in just the right place for things to heat up perfectly in the bedroom.  Before made me fall in love with these two, and Brash took it to the next level.

****4.5 stars****After flying through Before, the prequel to Jess and Jack's story, I immediately went to Amazon and bought this installment because I HAD to know what became of these two captivating characters! Brash is set ten years down the road from the prequel, and a lot has happened in a decade for Jess and Jack. Once a nomad drifter with a flair for the art of cooking, with Reid's help Jack has climbed his way to the top and is now a well-known and sought-after chef. Jess, the girl who wanted an adventure, well, she was still stuck. Sure, she'd finally gotten rid of her virginity status (I'm still disappointed Jack didn't handle that for her in Before!!), but she'd had her heart broken by a fiance that made her feel like she was nothing but a dud in every way. It broke my heart to see Jess fall this low, because she was so determined to break out of her shell only to be tucked back into it by a jerk and her own fear of taking control of her life. So when she made the decision to leave her librarian days behind her and bring a little burlesque vixen out for play just in time for Jack to stroll back into her life, I couldn't wait to see the fireworks!! They picked up right where they left off with the banter and crazy sexual tension, only with Jess refusing to back down like she did as a teen. Jack was in her sights, and she was going to bowl him over with her pasties and corsets or die trying. She was sexy with a side of awkward as she tried her hand at being the sultry sexual being she wanted to be with him, and it was crushing every time Jack denied her. He was still so hung up on her deserving better and her brother possibly not approving, and I wanted to throttle him for putting Jess through more pain. But when he FINALLY caved and did exactly what he'd been craving to do since the minute he saw her, ohmylawd, Jack was a beast and had me panting and fanning myself to stifle the heat!! With an addicting blend of sexy and emotion wrapped up in completely lovable characters, these short stories have hooked me for this series and I can't wait to grab up Reid's story, Blush, next! Quotes:Yet in one hot, steamy encounter in a grungy alley, Jack had blasted her preconceptions sky-high and revealed what she secretly hoped. That her inner vixen was in hibernation mode and needed the right bait to come out to play. ~Loc 526She had no idea how long it took for the exquisite ripples to subside, but as Jack wrapped his arms around her and her head sank onto his shoulder, a persistent thought intruded on her hazy bliss. How the hell could she walk away from this? ~Loc 1561He turned and walked away, the agonizing ache in his chest indicating the depth of his feelings. Yeah, he loved Jess. Loved her enough to let her go. ~Loc 1726

Ok, so someone said the book was predictable...and yes, I would agree in that, but it was a sweet predictable. You really wanted Jess to get her guy, and at the end, you wanted that guy to realize his value and go for that girl. If predictable means that they both ended up happy, then excellent, my kind of story.Jess fell in love with Jack while in Sydney when she was 18. For various reasons, he pushes her away and she returns home to Nevada. After a failed engagement, Jess quits her job and is roped into planning a wedding while her mother is recovering from a stroke. At this point, she runs into her first love Jack, who is the chef hired to cook for the wedding. Realizing this is her chance to cut lose and nail the guy who got away, Jess schemes to get Jack into bed once and for all. However, this time she plans on keeping her heart out of it.BUT, Jack has other ideas. Although he has always wanted Jess, her brother Reid is his best friend and he uses that as an excuse not to get involved with her. Reid was the person who took a guy drifting through life in Australia and helped him launch his career as a top chef. He doesn't want to betray a friendship that is the strongest relationship he's ever had. Altruistic? Sure, but is that the whole truth? As you read through it, you cringe a little (or I did) at how honest and open she was with Jack, just to have him walk away. She steps out of her comfort zone in hopes to land the guy, and eventually does get him into bed, just to nearly lose him again. At the end, you find out the guy is scared of commitment (how many aren't right?) and just doesn't feel like he deserves someone like her. Being shuffled through foster homes does that after your parents walk out on you, does that to a person. Some crave love, others don't want to be hurt again. So, yes, there was some predictability, but the story was so well written, I for one enjoyed it immensely, even when I wanted to shake Jack and tell him to take a chance!

Brash by Nicola MarshPurchased: Kindle - $2.99 [Free at time of purchase]My Rating: 4 of 5 Stars Spoilers! What’s It All About:Jess has always been the good girl, and there has really only ever been one mad who has made her want to be bad. Jess hasn’t seen Jack since her days in the outback ten years ago, but when he waltz back into her life she knows that those feelings that she once had have never gone away. Their brooding chemistry can’t distract them from the job that needs to be done with planning a mutual friends wedding, but when it does Jess can’t see any better reason to stop it. She takes her newly found bad girl bombshell ways to bring this Aussie boy to his knees. The Best Parts: I had previously read the prequel to this novel, Before, and loved these characters, so when I saw that this I snatched it up immediately. Jess and Jack have this chemistry that drives you crazy. The love and hate, and love to hate each other. What happened ten years ago in the outback though affects who they are today, so before reading this I suggest you read the prequel. It will help with the tension. The way they go about their way on the island though just builds more tension and I love that both are just as scared to be with the other. It helps make the relationship real. I do wish that they would have had at least one more day on the island to themselves, but that’s just me ;]The Worst Parts:There wasn’t much for me not to like in this novel. I just wish that there would have been more of the girls showing Jess how to be seductive and how to get Jack. There is a little bit talked about it, and some clothes given to her, but I would have loved to have heard the advice that some of the women gave to her and showed her how to move. Final Thoughts:It’s a shorter novel, but still sexy and cute at the same time. HEA all the ways, but does great at keeping the physical and mental tension high so that the reader doesn’t get bored.

Jack owes Reid Harper a lot, and in order to repay him, even in a small, subtle way – he stayed away from Jess. He did it in the past, and he’s going to do it again ten years after. How hard can it be?What he didn’t expect is Jess Harper was no longer the same Jess he rejected back in Aussie. This Jess Harper was more aggressive, knows exactly what she wants and oh-so-sexy. He wonders if he’s strength is enough to resist the girl of his dreams, especially when they are thrown into an island together to plan for the wedding of the year.I was wondering when would he finally give up his bro-code before he jumps at her… I was having the time of my life watching him salivating over Jess. Serves him right for being righteous. .. All he had to do was talk to Reid, brothers would always appreciate honesty and can smell predators easily. He is sincere with his feelings, he just needed to come clean, before Jess ran out of costumes and of time. What I love about this series is that the books are short, but the fun, and romance isn’t lacking. Looking forward for the next Burlesque Bombshell book in the series!★ARC Copy was given in exchange for an honest review.★

Fans of Nicola Marsh know that they can count on a good read as soon as a book of hers is available for download/hits the shelves. They’ll get an intriguing plotline, a work of fiction to absorb them with it’s ready wit and breezy style. Her dry sense of humour is a joy to read.Jess Harper has realized that it’s good to be bad. She’s recently shed a job which didn’t challenge her creativity, being a librarian in a small town. She’s also said goodbye to a dorky fiancé who cheated on her and had the nerve to blame her for it. Stepping in to her mother’s wedding planner shoes puts her in close proximity to hot celebrity chef Jack McVeigh. He’d eluded Jess some years previously owing to the male code of honor which (allegedly) states ‘thou shalt not make out with thy friend’s sister’. Jess had decided that Jack is just the man she needs for a short but sweet fling. Should Jack continue to elude her (he fully intends to) she has a few tricks up her sleeve, courtesy of the Burlesque Bombshell Revue girls of Las Vegas. The nicest lesson I took away from this book is the fact that if someone really loves you, you don’t need to be a bombshell with a perfect figure and a bag of sex toys. Real love is more than enough. If you like it hot (some do), you’ll love this. Graphic languages and content is present, my friends. If you can leave hot, you’ll probably enjoy this anyway. Nicola’s humor is infectious.Four out of five stars.

Jess and Jack's story picks up 10 years later when they have to work together to plan a wedding. Jess is still the insecure, shy person she was, just no longer a virgin. Jack is now successful as a chef back in Australia. When Jess realizes that she has to work with Jack and after she sees him again after 10 years, she realizes she still wants him like how she did all those years ago. Due to her introvert nature, she enlists her cousin's help in seducing Jack. Meanwhile, Jack has become best friends with Jess's brother Reid and feels guilty about doing anything with Jess. The sexual chemistry is still there between them even though he keeps spurning her advances. It isn't until after Jack turns Jess down again and she finally loses it and decides that she is going to go after somebody else does Jack finally decide to give in to his desires for Jess, believing that it can be a no strings attached relationship. Your heart just break for Jess when she loses it because she is so in love with Jack but it seems like he does not feel the same way about her. I am satisfied with the ending to this love story and am looking foward to Reid's love story.

What a fun book by Ms. Marsh! I adored the burlesque background, it's such an interesting world. Jess was fantastic, completely honest and not afraid to go after what she knows is right, even though Jack insists nothing will ever happen between them due to his friendship with her brother. Jack's character was a mix of sexy Aussie chef and jumpy kangaroo, but it didn't make me want to take him home any less! The dialogue between the couple was witty and sexy, and the banter between Jess and the girls from the burlesque club was absolutely charming. And woah was this book HOT! The sex scenes absolutely burned up my ereader! If you aren't a fan of EROTIC romance, then this might be too much for you, but honestly the sex fits in perfectly with the Jess seducing Jack story line and it's not gratuitous in any way. It did feel a bit rushed at the end, but it only makes me want to pick up the next in this series. Great book!

HOT!!! What a great read, it's one of those books you can't out down even though you know you have to be up early the next morning! Jess has been put down by her ex so much she has no confidence when it comes to physical relationships so she's spent years working in the library until her mum falls ill and she has to take over her mothers work commitments, planning a wedding for a dancer who works in her cousins burlesque club. Add a hot Aussie hunk from her past and watch the feathers and sparks fly. Awesome book looking forward to reading some more books by Nicola.

This was a quick read. I loved the heroine-she was shy but trying her darndest to be sexy for the man she was determined to have. That was a nice change too. She chased him, for the most part. She made it known she wanted him, and didn't feel bad about it. And I loved how jack wanted to show her that she was beautiful and didn't need to be a bombshell to get his attention. She'd had his attention for 10 years. It was sweet, sexy and the perfect quick read before bed.

Brash grabbed me and drug me right into it from the beginning. Some people have aside to them that needs to be acknowledged and come out so the person can see more of their potential especially where love is concerned. Some are so shy and do not realize that they are good enough to be loved even though they weren't loved in childhood. I really like this story and look forward to more.

This was a fun, sexy romp with two very likable characters. Yes, it's a rom-com type deal with the predictable situation and outcome, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. Marsh is great at creating and sustaining great chemistry between Jess and Jack throughout the whole book without forcing it. Well done. Can't wait to read Blush!

It was great getting to see Jack and Jess finally get together. I have previously read and enjoyed the prequel - Before. I was so happy when he finally admitted that he loved her. I loved the parts where they were on the island before everyone else showed up. This book is a fun and entertaining read.

This story was so fun, it was also embedded full of emotions. Jess puts it all on the line, telling Jack exactly what she feels. Once again, he crushes her heart. She doesn’t look back, just runs. Meanwhile, Jack is standing there frozen in pain. He can’t believe he’s so damn stupid. She loves him. Read my full review here:

This was a really cute story. I really liked the characters and the storyline. The ending came on a little to quick. I was all wrapped up in the story and all of the sudden it ended. Good quick read though, solid 4 stars.

I have not read any of this authors books before this - I like her sassy heroine. Jack isn't an Alpha for a change but a guy who knows he's hooked early on. A nice change to many of the books I have read lately. Looking foward to reading Reid's story.
