    This book is a very good begin for everyone who wants to know more about gender problematics in pop culture. The author get into rock industry and how it is gendered as masculine in general and how medias as power on these gendered conceptions. Though, the real core of the book is about the Riot Grrrl movement from 1990 to early 2000. Leonard argues that Riot Grrl, as a decentralised movement has empowered women in music industry by making it easier to access in any ways (music instruments, mixing, self production, festivals, tours). You need to read this book if you're interested by indie music, gender issues and pop culture!
