Getting Complicated (Prequel to Getting Personal/Getting in Deep) Reviews
a prequel of an story, that seems to start at a wrong way.Monique was cheated by her boyfriend and end up bankrupt.a short story how all happened and the decision she takes to overtake this miserable situation.
Okay, maybe I am the minority but I liked this book or prequel and I have definitely added Getting Personal to my TBR book. I want to see more about Monique and her mother whom I absolutely loved.. (Come on she said the word COCK in a book) and I want to see if the book has anything to do with the scam artist of a prick that she met and fell in "like" with. There were two stories but, I got each one and I think that they led me in the direction of the next book. Looking forward to reading the next book.
On the plus side this is quite short. On the negative side, it's quite bad. It's supposed to serve as a prequel to another book but it really should just be the introduction or first chapter to that book and even then it wouldn't seem to bode well for the ret of the book. There are several different ideas that are brought up but not at all developed and then before you know it it's over. The synopsis literally tells you everything you need to know, including the last line of the story almost verbatim.
This book was actually two incomplete stories. It starts off with Jeannine freaking out because her mother wrote an erotic novel and asked her to help edit it. Then it skips to Jeannine getting scammed by a guy she was dating. Neither story really finishes and the two stories don't connect in any way. She does mention in the first part about the mother's book that she is publishing it as an e-book and anyone can publish an e-book. I guess this is proof. :(
Good readAsking for a review before I even got to read much of the book. I really have no opinion yet.
I thought prequels were supposed to gear you to get excited about the book... This was depressing.
