This is Rhonda Gibson’s best story yet, and that's saying a lot because I've read all of her stories and thought each and every one was awesome. Eliza Kelly is a hoot. A very zany, fun, talkative fun woman. But watch out when she's quiet, oh, oh. All those hats… *smiling*And who wouldn't fall in love with Jackson Hart? The tall, broad-shouldered, hunky, protective, gentle-giant smithy hero. A real sweetheart! Then there's Peter. I wanted to adopt that adorable little boy myself. There were so many kewl things in this story that I didn't see coming. Very unique things. Several including a very unique stone. Wanna know what the stone is? As if! You gotta read the story to find out!Several other interesting characters drop in throughout the story. Some you want to slap into next week and toss out on their sorry hides, others carry secrets that hold severe consequences. Others sweet as a peach cobbler.Wow, the more I keep thinking about all the twists and unpredictable turns in this outstanding story, the more I want to go back and read it again. This one's a real keeper. I highly recommend it.

This was a really great book! I don't think I could choose a favorite part because I loved the book so much. I loved how Jackson stood up and protected Eliza and even though at first they weren't in love he treated her like a lady, he was a real gentleman. I loved that Jackson was this huge man with beautiful blue eyes and could be hard when he wanted but when you got to know him he was very sweet and loving. I loved how talkative Eliza is in this book, in a way she reminds me of myself that way. The author weaved the story together perfectly. She explained the vast and beautiful scenery like you would be right there, I personally fell in love with the characters and I didn't want the book to end! I highly recommend this book!! I give it five stars!

Thank you so much for the book firstly, it was a great read. I really enjoyed the characters a lot as well, Eve and her little side story were a nice addition. This was a very wholesome romance novel, thank you again!

This was a good book and a nice story. As with all Love Inspired books I've read, this one was pretty quick, and I felt some areas could have been written more in depth. But overall, it was a nice story and I'm glad I read it.

Mail order husbandFast paced, interesting characters and a great plot made this story a page turner for me. Mail order bride stories are some of my favorite to read and a mail order husband made for a nice twist.

Groom by Arrangement Very good story and had good pacing. It was a sweet and touching romance. I will read other books by this author. I do feel the cover should have had a larger man lol since she kept marveling at his size in the story.

Eliza Kelly is mortified that her close friend, Hannah, has advertised for a mail order groom for her. She’s even more mortified when she goes to meet the groom at the railroad station and picks the wrong man: she takes blacksmith Jackson Hart instead of the milquetoast Miles Thatcher home with her. Naturally, gossip around town begins and Eliza’s reputation is at stake, so Jackson offers her a marriage of convenience. The “marriage of convenience” trope is really tiresome. Eliza has been a widow for five years and still misses her husband Charlie. Why her close friends Hannah and Rebecca don’t leave her alone to live her own life is beyond me. Eliza is also tormented by the fact that a doctor has told her that she can never have children, which is what both she and Charlie wanted. They leave Durango, Colorado, for Cottonwood Springs, New Mexico, where Jackson hopes to find his father. Jackson and Eliza “adopt” an orphan, Pete, who comes into town after being abandoned by his family. And Jackson runs into his hate-filled mother, who is one of the best villains in this series. Ida Hart is a bitter, angry woman who has lived over half her life with a man she didn’t love (Jackson’s father) while carrying on an affair with another man. She poisoned Jackson’s mind against his father. She goes on a rant to Jackson at one point that begins with: “Because I hated you. I hated that your father loved you enough to leave money to take care of you. Did you know you look just like him? I wanted you to suffer like I suffered.” Ida is a psychopath who later reveals that she’s marrying a man, Jasper, who mentored Jackson in blacksmithing when Jackson was a child. The book reads more like a Greek tragedy than a romance. Eliza is betrayed by her friends Hannah and Rebecca (who advertise for a groom), Millie (who has accidently burned her place of work down), and Miles (who describes her as a fallen woman, leading to gossip). Jackson is betrayed by his mother, Ida (who is a raging psychopath) and Jasper (who secretly had an affair with his mother). Their adopted orphan also gets into trouble with another child, putting them both in mortal danger. Still, it’s a good story that deals with forgiveness and putting the past behind you and focusing on the present and future. Recommended.

Eliza's friends have ordered her a mail-order husband, and she's not happy about it. So she goes to town to tell the bloke it's all off, but accidentally hauls away Jackson, who is suffering from a concussion after being robbed on the train. He then escorts her home, and the mail-order husband declares this makes her a fallen woman and for some reason everyone just agrees with him, even though it was a very honourable and respected man who suggested Jackson escort her home in the first place. Of course this means the only thing to be done is for them to get married, except Eliza has a secret that means she doesn't think she can be a proper bride. In general I liked the romance between the two main characters, but I had a whole bunch of problems with the plot and character development. The robbery on the train is never referred to again, likewise the suspicious looking mail order groom disappears never to be heard from again. There seems like there's a story around the fire, but not so much. The character development feels rushed, (view spoiler)[ for example, when the characters discover a small child who asks if he can call them ma and pa, they say yes immediately, even though they haven't looked into whether he has any living family outside his father, and even though Jackson thinks he's leaving in a year, and even though it makes things super awkward given they're not married or even engaged at that point. (hide spoiler)] I also had a lot of trouble with the idea that if a woman decided to change her plans (by WALKING ACROSS THE ROAD TO A DIFFERENT STORE), if she didn't ask her husband first she was a liar and broke promises. Even for the time period that's excessive. Overall it was nice but I just wasn't a big fan.

BACK OF THE BOOK BLURBEliza Kelly thought her humiliation was complete when she identified the wrong train passenger as her mail-order groom. She was only trying to tell Jackson Hart that the madcap scheme was not her idea. But now the stormy-eyed blacksmith has decided to stay, rumors are flying. And Jackson does the gallant thing--he offers the lovely widow a marriage of convenience.Though he came to New Mexico to find his father, Jackson wonders if Eliza'smistake was his good fortune. Between caring for an orphaned youngster and protecting Eliza, Jackson feels whole again. If only he can persuade Eliza to marry him, her reputation will be saver...and so will their long-buried dreams of forging a real family.MY REVIEWAnother enjoyable book starts out by putting Eliza in a difficult situation and just continues when the marshal asks Jackson to take her back to Cottonwood Springs. I like the way Rhonda has them handle their 'problem' and she has written an ending that puts you on the edge of your seat for a short time. The truth that Jackson discovers will tear at your heart too.Although these books are listed as novels and not a series I would suggest reading "The Marshal's Promise", "Groom by Arrangement", and looking ahead, "Taming the Texas Rancher" and "His Chosen Bride" in this order as they all deal with people from Cottonwood Springs. Thank you Rhonda for your mail-order bride books.

Eh it was okay I need to stop choosing inspirational books they are not my style. It was a cute story between Jackson and Eliza but the author bounced around too much with other stories and didnt finish most. I guessed there wouldn't be a romantic sex scene cause of the genre but I became very annoyed that Jackson's mother was a horrible cruel woman and he just stood there and hugged her and said I hope your happy I love you. I'm sorry I can understand being Christian and all but I'd kick her out happily say have a good life and move on. That woman didnt deserve what be said to her. the end was adorable Jackson is like a perfect husband haha

This book was a fast read. I felt that the plot was very rushed and I did not feel that the characters grew together. It felt more like 'love at first sight' instead of growing together because of their circumstances. The plot also resolved too nicely for me. I enjoy happy endings but I don't think everything should work out in their favor. I would borrow the book but I don't recommend buying it for your library.

It was cute, but at the end Eve reconciles with her husband and they work on their marriage. Maybe I read it wrong, but didn't she leave him because he was already married? That would be a little bit hard to work through wouldn't it? anyway. Eliza/Jackson was cute
