The Only Book of Wiccan Spells You'll Ever Need Reviews
My not-boyfriend bought me this book upon discovering I collect spell books, despite my writing original spells for myself and others. No, that has nothing to do with my own desire to write my own book. Well, maybe. Admittedly, I speed-read this one, but it's not hard to understand, especially if you've been at it as long as I have. The first portion of the book is the basics of Wicca and Witchcraft, the second portion spells for love, money, health, travel, and more.So let's begin with basic questions that a reader might have. Why Wiccan spells, and what is the difference between Wicca and Witchcraft? These questions define the book, and the authors provide valuable insight as to the differences. Simply, Wicca is a religion, and Witchcraft of course is a magick system. As the authors say in the beginning of the book, the spells in this book take into account the main ideals of Wicca, not harming or manipulating others (in bad ways, at least. As pointed out by many people, you can technically "manipulate" people, e.g. making employers see that you are the most worthy for a job if you are indeed the best candidate). While this is certainly not the only book of spells a serious Witch should look at, I found them very easy to understand and execute, as well as being very easy to customize and potentially build upon for a more complicated spell.Overall, I would recommend this as an easily digestible introduction to Wicca and Witchcraft for those interested in learning what it's about. As well I would recommend this for anyone interested in collecting spells.
This is a great book for starting out. It's very general and its charts are great for designing your own works. There was a good variety of spells; I haven't tried any of them just yet, but they seem simple. In some instances, it's generality worked against it, making some key topics vague. But that's what the Internet is for. Besides, hopefully there will be more books to reference in your library soon, as there will be in mine.Overall, this is a great place for beginners to start.
Research material. Useful.
Great book for beginners! Very in depth and detailed with teachings and spells, what to look for and what to avoid when looking to join a coven. Very helpful and clear set writing.
I find the charts in it to very helpful when I need to look something up quickly.
