As the author I tried to get the reader to understand the feelings and emotions of a 2nd grader (with or without a disability)who has to deal with being "different". These differences lead to being bullied, lonliness, making friends and eventually applying the "golden rule" to be the hero! I hope that we can learn something from this book. This book teaches children that it is ok to be "different" & not everyone is the same. It also talks about the things you can do, not just the things you can't. This is a great book to read aloud. GREAT life lessons and amazing story behind the author, who writes from personal experience.
