Highschool of the Dead, Vol. 7 Reviews
And thus I reached the end of this manga. There is no news, no nothing on if it will even continue. It is sad, it was just getting to some great parts. :(
Highschool of the Dead volume 7 contains chapters 27-29 and is a direct continuation of previous volumes. It's best to start at the beginning.Rei and Takashi's group is on the move again in the search to reunite with their parents. The heavy focus is on the search and fighting hoards of "Them," but there is a fair amount of character development as well dealing with the fallout of last issue's events. Several team members begin to react or push themselves in new ways. It's a small step down from the last volume, but still very well done and balanced. The biggest issue here is that the volume ends in the middle of a story arc. It normally wouldn't be a big deal but this is the point where the series went on hiatus a couple of years ago. Since then only a single chapter has been released (in Japan), so there's a big question mark on how long it will be before we see the completion and translation of the next installment.Volume 7 is another good step forward for Highschool of the Dead, but if you are a reader that abhors cliffhangers you might want to stop with the end of the previous arc in volume 6 for now.
I read it only because I was curios about all the fuss that it made when it's anime was out & I haven't watched its anime yet I decided reading it would be better than studying no matter how bad it was xD But surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I've heard (except for the disturbing female characters' designs xD)& it's your normal shounen with people turning to zombies for some unknown reasons & the protagonist & his friends are trying to survive ... etc & I gotta admit that the Ecchi was normal for me (I bet that the anime is worse on this aspect because it's colored & has sounds ewwww) & I've seen many things worse so it wasn't a bother & I guess the only character that I somehow liked is Saeko :) & the most annoying one might be the idiot nurse (ewwwww)! Sadly it's now on hiatus because I'm kinda curious to know the reason behind people turning to zombies (even thought I didn't like it overall) & who Takashi (the protagonist) will end with (I cheer for Takashi x Saeko)
Oh Daisuke Sato, why's it gotta be like this. You write seven volumes of a fun (if fanservicey) zombie thriller, then, just as the story's cruising to a climax, you go on indefinite hiatus. Will Our Heroes escape their zombie infested town? Will they be reunited with their families? Will Rei's instability continue to deepen? Maybe we'll find out in five years. But in the meantime, the drawings of pretty girls fighting zombies are cool.
The issue with manga is that I go through 3 books in a day... This is the end of the line isn't it? I don't see anything about a volume 8 =(It is just as cliff hangered as it was with the anime cut off!
2 and 7 were the best.
Loved them. Volumes 1-7 are very interesting and if you love zombies or maturity things on a manga book. You should check these out and hopefully they release the other volumes soon.
High school + zombies that's all I have to say.
Edición argentina, séptimo tomo. Último hasta la fecha, ya que con este libro se pone al día con respecto a la edición japonesa.
A great read. The interaction netween the group remains fresh and engaging and another interesting new twists and characters are being unfolded.
