While visiting Afghanistan, Mark Taylor purchased a camera that had magical qualities. When developing the film from this old-fashioned camera, additional pictures would appear, depicting a negative event that would happen in the near future. Taylor would then dream about the events in these pictures and, if he acted fast enough, be able to prevent them. The series happens in the early part of this century, when film cameras were still in common use.The reaction of some readers to the second book in the series, March into Hell, was interesting and, in my opinion, missed the point. Through both books, Mark is consistent. He’s the good guy and, with the assistance of his magic camera, fights evil. That the primary evil Mark was fighting was a religious cult triggered some knee jerk reactions, not recognizing that Mark was still fighting evil.Deeds of Mercy is a return to Mark’s roots, in that many of the ways March into Hell was different from No Good Deed do not apply to this latest installment. As with No Good Deed, this book is operating in the political, rather than the religious realm. Who is friend and who is foe is no longer clear. Deeds of Mercy also answers one of the big questions some readers had about what happened to one of the secondary characters from No Good Deed, and brings that story thread to a satisfactory resolution. If you’re a thriller fan, especially political thrillers, and haven’t read No Good Deed, you need to. For those who have read the series and felt March into Hell didn’t live up to your expectations, Deeds of Mercy almost surely will.**Originally written for "Books and Pals" book blog. YAYYYYY! Another editing project is now a published book. This book is the third in the Mark Taylor series, but you will not be lost if you read this one first. Find out how Mark Taylor has the power to change the possibly thwarting a terrorist.

This hero has a much more forgiving nature than I feel I would choose to demonstrate! To be seemingly abandoned and confronted by the friend you though you could trust, but managed to cause you to lose more than a year of your life and returns to bring more trouble is a bit much to ask of anyone. It would b a delight to have more in the series.

This is apparently the last in a series (so far?)I enjoyed reading all four books of this series, but this one ended very abruptly. I would give the whole series 5 stars except for a smattering of pg13 language issues in #2 & #3. It was not out of context or you anything would not expect to hear in real life dialog and most people probably wouldn't even care or notice. I just think the reader should know it's there. When I began reading the prequel I was thinking, yeah-right, kinda lame but after book #3, the fourth book in the series, I am looking for a movie to come out. I must say though, not once did I want to trade places with the 'hero' of this story. Enjoy but remember to read the prequel (Mark Taylor-Genesis) before you read book #1.

Another really fun adventure with Mark Taylor and friends (and foes) as well as his camera that forshadows future tragedies. But this time, someone from Mark's past (who played a big part in ruining his life) returns and we find out what happens when the camera falls into the wrong hands. I thought this book was a LOT better than the second one, I just didn't get into the cult stuff--but the villain here is good. The action was well paced and the ending was quite satisfying. I really hope we get another Mark Taylor book soon. 3.5 stars.

I was glad to see Mark run up against his old friend Mo, the one whose friendship helped get Mark arrested as an enemy combatant It was an good balance of suspense:(as usual Mark has a terrible event he must prevent) combined with some exploring of relationships. Mark and Mo; Mo and his sister and uncles; Mark and his Dad, and Jim being a little more self aware. These books end somewhat abruptly, but it works because it gives the read a little bit to think on. Hope there's more on the horizon!

Pretty good readThought the 1st 2 books were more tightly written. This book bends your level of acceptance. I think the author is trying to hard to find some redeeming quality in the bad guys, sometimes I think bad guys just need to be bad. It was a good plot, with so many acts of terror in the world, the plot was very believable. But poor Mark, maybe the author could let him get through a book with nothing more than a paper cut?

I enjoyed the three Mark Taylor books enough to not be able to put them way of evaluating a good read! The author makes you feel the emotions that Mark felt, and you feel like you are walking beside him in his journey. If this is the last of the series, I would have liked to have seen more closure in his relationship with Jessica. If another book comes out I will be the first in line to get it!

I really enjoyed this book as well. Mark is such a good guy and I'm torn between feeling bad for him or feeling like he gets himself into his own troubles. But yet I don't think I would believe his story either if I was the law enforcement official taking his report but he's such a nice guy....

Mo is back and wants the camera.Getting assaulted and waterboarded by the guy who threw you to the CIA is not a great end to your day, even worse he takes your magical camera to guarantee successful terrorist attacks. Now how does Mark respond???? Read and find out.

I liked the book, but I hope that if there is another book, Mark has a chance to be strong physically - less beating up - and more confidence. It would be a great way to end his story.
