I’ll be honest this wasn’t quite the book I was expecting, years ago (before I actually bothered to write reviews) I used to read a lot of Andrew Grey books now maybe his writing has changed, maybe it’s just this book that’s different, could be I remember them wrong or it’s just the years in between but I wasn’t totally happy with this. It’s a very short read which doesn’t always help.Fredrick is only 4’8” and less than 100 pounds, so when he sees Duncan ‘.....a tall and stunning figure with the face of the Marlboro man, and what appeared to be the body of a Greek god, in a tuxedo.’It’s safe to say I assumed Duncan would be the alpha but I was wrong it’s little Freddie that holds the power.Fredrick and Duncan drive straight onto a D/S relationship with Duncan referring to Fredrick as Sir, which of course is fine but then Duncan calls him Freddie during sex and seems to be topping from the bottom without punishment. If Duncan’s family is so rich there’s no way he couldn’t have afforded the painting in the first place. If Duncan likes powerful men as much as he claims what on earth was he doing the the twink? It’s not a bad book at all the sex is hot it just wasn’t the book I’d expected or hoped for.I voluntarily read a review copy kindly provided by NetGalley and Riverdale Avenue Books.

It’s not often that I can really enjoy a short romance : I’m more a tortoise than a hare, LOL. But this time, it worked well for me, even though I would have wanted more of Frederick and Duncan.Frederick is a successful art dealer with a strong personality. One evening, he’s asked by one of his clients to purchase a painting at an auction where he meets Duncan and beats him on the sell. Putting business aside, they spend a night together, Frederick’s needs to be in charge perfectly matching Duncan’s willingness to give control. From there, the total honesty Duncan displays prompts Frederick to give a try to a very satisfying relationship.Granted, it’s very short but well written so I could relate to the MCs and I enjoyed their dynamics and honesty to each other. No angst, a good degree of hotness and a believable HEA, all packed in a few pages. A very entertaining and sexy break.** A copy of “Auction Action” was kindly provided to me by the publisher “Riverdale Avenue Books” via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review**

Loved this little story! It was short but oh my it held a bunch of sexiness.Frederick and Duncan meet at an auction and are bidding on the same object...a painting.Huge amounts of money are involved.Duncan is like a Greek god thát beautiful! And Frederick is an impressive man, impressive not by his length but by his air of strength.Overbid by Frederick Duncan is left alone without the painting. But....they meet again.Duncan is overwhelmed by Frederick's personality. I'm not gonna spoil. We can behold some nice erotic scenes, with some impressive outcomes. But there is more...there is a very nice little story behind this all. I loved both men, together they were strong and forwarded.Great short and well written story.Kindly received an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley.

*ARC provided by Riverdale Avenue Books via Netgalley*The sexual chemistry was off the charts, and the sex scenes depicted were pretty epic, but I would have appreciated a bit more depth to the characters and a lot more development in the relationship. It was too short to truly be appreciated.

This is not a typical Andrew Grey read for me. Firstly, I felt like I was told everything that was going on rather than shown (which I have experienced with some of his older works but not recently). Secondly, the D/S "Sir" thing did not work for me at all...didn't feel natural and for them. Just odd. Cannot recommend this one of his.

Is there a completely baffled emoji? Maybe completely baffled with an eye twitch.I picked this one up because it was short and why tf not. Now that I've finished this, admittedly VERY short story, I have some questions. A summary might be in order - Frederick and Duncan meet at an art auction. Frederick bids on and wins a painting which Duncan was vying for. What follows can only be described as a...headscratchingly awkward romp? Frederick is described as 4-foot 8-inches tall, less than 100 pounds, with a "mammoth" manhood. Mmkay. In itself, this isn't wholly worth noting. The reason this becomes interesting is that our Freddie has himself a big ole' Napoleon complex! Once inside, he sauntered up to the bar and climbed onto a stool. When the bartender overlooked, him Frederick simply grabbed the man's leather harness and pulled the startled bartender down to eye level. He said nothing and simply glared into the other man's eyes until he heard him moan softly. "That's what I thought. Bring me a martini and I'll think about it." Frederick released him, and the bartender couldn't move fast enough to get his drink. Two things. The punctuation errors are not mine - they are in the story itself. Also, really!?I'm just gonna throw it on out there that this story wasn't for me. My own personal kink is not the Dom/Sub relationship and when someone like Frederick is the Dom, I'm just less interested than ever. Just a quick last thought, at one point in the story, Frederick is being driven around in a limo by a driver named Cedrick. Frederick. Cedrick. I have a pet peeve of authors using super similar names in a story. There are SO MANY names to choose from! Why you gotta confuse my goldfish brain with names like that. Two stars because I finished this in like two hours flat and I like to get things done.**I was provided a copy of this story by the publisher in exchange for an honest review**

Who the hell really wrote this ???If you love Andrew Grey's books, like I normally do, stay away from this one! It contains crappy D/s and abuse of the word Sir (later the Sir changed into Freddie *blink*).When you find a real story in this book please let me know.

Fredrick Holloway is a dealer in French antiques in Milwaukee. A favored client contracts him to purchase a painting at an auction as a way to keep the buyer’s anonymity. She’d been a rival of the deceased woman whose estate in on the block. While there, Fredrick notices a sexy man is also interested in the same piece of art. Fredrick, an experienced buyer, takes a strategic position and ends up winning the piece at a great discount to his client. Feeling high on the experience, diminutive Fredrick goes out on the town, and manages to meet his auction adversary, Duncan, in the same leather-type bar. Fredrick makes it clear that coming home with him will require some level of submission, and Duncan’s down for it.They have a great night, more so than Duncan could have dreamed. He’s a wealthy man, but his youth was marked by distant parents and a parade of nannies and boarding schools. He desires a partner who is compassionate and passionate; Fredrick seems to fit the bill. He’s also curious about the purchaser of the painting, as the subject was Duncan’s great-grandmother. His family wanted the painting for their gallery, and his inquiries to Fredrick lead to some intrigue, but not much. Both men handle the situation with respect and dignity, which leads Duncan to seek Fredrick out again. And again. For a novella, this is a meaty read, and that’s not just a pun about the sexytimes. We get to see Duncan and Fredrick build a rapport and that leads to a relationship that is built on mutual respect. They are a sweet odd couple, and I found the flipped power dynamic interesting and fun. This is a novella that was published in originally in 2012, and recently republished. If you’re looking for the slow burn romance Andrew Grey is typically known for, you won’t find it here. Quick and dirty, with a sweet side that charmed me.

Well I admit I was curious, a 98 page BDSM story by Andrew Grey? It was an interesting study in a meet-cute and I actually did buy the attraction between them. The guys were both quirky characters, especially Frederick. He definitely works as the petite but confident Dom and I can see a host of possibilities for this character. His actions/reactions were intriguing and I liked the way he interacted with the other characters in the story.Duncan was more of an enigma. He shows up at the beginning with a flamboyant twink in tow, but folds faster than an American dollar when he gets a load of 'Freddie's' masterful ways. There's a fun little story to go along with the descriptive sex... all in all it was an easy way to spend a little time with Andrew Grey.a copy of this book was provided by NetGalley for the purpose of this review

Frederick is an antiques dealer and artwork is part of his success. He's asked by a client to attend an auction to purchase a painting. There he meets Duncan, who wants the same painting.  That night after the auction, where Frederick beat him, Duncan sees him in a club.  Sparks are flying. Who will make the first move?? Deciding to put business aside, Frederick vows to give Duncan what he so craves. After that night neither can keep the other out of their heads. They decide to give each other a whirl and have a go at a D/s relationship. Ok, for such a short story, there was a lot that happened. The story was original and I liked the way they met and how their relationship developed from that very first insane attraction. The biggest inconsistency, though, is the height differential. Frederick is said to be 4'8" and less than 100 pounds, and Duncan is described as being "a tall and stunning figure with the face of the Marlboro Man and what appeared to be the body of a Greek God in a tuxedo". I would guess anyone could be taller than Frederick, but I would guess Duncan to be around 6' tall.  There is no possible way for Duncan to lean his head back on Frederick's shoulder if they were standing. You are looking at over a foot difference! Even sitting would be a stretch for that matter.  And Yes, there were some things that didn't click right with their Dom/sub dynamic, but it was their relationship, and whose to say what is right and what is wrong, as long as both want the same things. Right!Overall, I felt this story was entertaining and alluring.4 Stars/3.5 FlamesThis book was gifted to me by Riverdale Avenue Book through NetGalley for a voluntary review.  The review and ratings are solely my opinions.

A good quick read. Andrew Grey changes up a bit and brings us a D/S story. The story pace was a bit slow for me and it took me awhile to get into. When I did and the character interaction grew it moved along nicely. I was surprised that Frederick was the Dom and Duncan was the bottom. Their physical intimacy was intense but I was drawn more to the history behind the piece in the auction moved me as well as the older woman who became the new owner. I felt more of a connection with her and Frederick than with Frederick and Duncan and would have liked for more time in the story for Duncan and Frederick to foster a relationship. All in all a good quick read if you want a story with sizzling sex and a mystery behind a painting.

3 1/2 StarsA surprising change from Andrew Grey's writing, with slight D/s, some spanking ect but nothing to heavy. The characters are good and fit together nicely.

Auction Action by Andrew Grey is a novella length M/M romance that's hot and spicy! The story has some light BDSM aspects involved, as well as an unexpected power exchange that I loved. Frederick and Duncan are both great characters, and although everything moves at lightning speed between them, they make a terrific couple. I really liked the emotional history related to the painting that everyone is seeking, how it brought these men together, and the compromise that they all reached so that everyone was happy. The only thing that I didn't like about the story was the length of it. It would've been sensational had it been a full length novel. The characters were developed, and given the length, the storyline was great. I can just imagine the possibilities if it had been expanded. Overall, this was a fantastic story, and I can't wait to read more from this author. I have to say that I was disappointed in some of the reviews I read regarding this book. There were so many people who were judging about Frederick's size, and the fact that he was the Dom. Honestly, I find it offensive that people can judge others based on their size. A person's size does not determine what type of person they are, who they can be, or what they're capable of. I appreciate how the author created this story without demeaning anyone. Now if only the readers could do the same. I highly recommend this book, and fantastic author. I have voluntarily reviewed this arc provided by the publisher via NetGalley.

In Andrew Grey’s Auction Action, we see a departure from what we normally see from Andrew Grey and delved into a D/S themed short story. Both Frederick and Duncan are strong and intelligent men but I believe with the length of this, we didn’t get as much development as we usually do with the typical Andrew Grey novel. There was an interesting dynamic, especially with how short Frederick was and how tall and masculine I pictured Duncan to be. Frederick is a whirlwind despite his height. He knows how to get what he wants and knows how to give others what they want.I feel as though this novel was more about sex between the two men then the actual relationship. It felt very rushed. I like my romance, even D/S romance a little more drawn out with interaction between the characters and how they talk and establish boundaries and trust in each other. Would I recommend this book to others? Usually with Andrew Grey it’s an automatic yes. This I would say, if you need something to pass about thirty minutes of time and a quick escape. Sure. It’s not one I’m raving but it’s decent.

*Copy provided to Bayou Book Junkie by NetGalley for my reading pleasure in hopes of an unbiased opinion, a review was not a requirement.*Though I've read many books of Andrew Grey's, this is the second one I've read through NetGalley, and like the first, it's different than a typical Andrew Grey book. This was a 98 page novella, so a lot happens in a short time, especially when you're finding a HEA for two strangers. And for those that are a fan of BDSM, and I'm not, you'll want to read this novella. When Frederick attends a charity auction for a client, he can't help but notice the man bidding against him. After a successful transaction, Frederick dons his leather and heads to the club. While at the club, his attention is drawn to Duncan, the man from the auction. Frederick takes Duncan home and teaches him that size can be deceiving. Duncan has never experienced before what he did with Frederick and wants more. Frederick agrees but both men get more from their playtime than expected. As with all books by this author, it's steamy but I'm not a fan of BDSM, so for me, I moved quickly through the sex scenes between Frederick and Duncan. Something this novella did was reverse the typical dom/alpha type person. Frederick is small and Duncan is not, but Frederick was the man in control and I liked that the author didn't let this fall into the typical big man is the alpha dynamic. This was a very quick read and I thought this ended with a solid HEA. I think for anyone interested in dom/sub, one MC being called "Sir", and controlling in the bedroom, you'll want to pick this novella up.Rating: 4 stars

Short hot read!Auction Action was originally published back in 2012 and it feels quite a bit different from Andrew Grey's current work. I enjoyed reading it but not nearly as much as his more recent books. Frederick is a small man but he's got a big presence and it was no surprise to find out that he's a dom in the bedroom. (This isn't a BDSM story.) He has his own business as an antique dealer and he also provides other services to his clients including proxy bidding at auctions.Frederick meets Duncan at an auction where he is representing a client; they both want to purchase the same painting. They run into each other again at a bar and spend the night together. The sex scenes in this book are really hot. I didn't really feel a lot of romantic chemistry between the two MCs but I found the story enjoyable and not a bad way to spend an evening reading.A review copy was provided by the publisher via NetGalley but this did not influence my opinion or rating of the book.

This was 1-60 in record time - trice! The first was from the second Frederick and Duncan laid eyes on each other to when they end up in bed together. The second time is when Duncan goes from having never had sub/dom sexual liasons to him completely submissing and having complete trust in a stranger. The final time is the pair going from strangers to being in love and planning a future together. The pace was way too quick for my liking, and I didn't get the necessary basis for believing their love. The writing is superficial. Everything is told, and nothing is felt. This just contributed to my inability to believe their love - and even lust - for each other. Review copy provided in exchange for my honest review

The story was okay, though it would have liked it to be longer. There wasn't much of a story line however it’s got some really good sexy times. The D/s portion wasn't really believable. They did have a conversation but nothing really panned out with it. Going from Sir to Fredrick to Freddy was not the way to it would normally progress. I would have liked to have seen the D/s tightened up.ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’m left speechless and I kind of can’t help but laugh at this one - little Frederick aka Sir - really? This seemed too far fetch and I struggled to take it seriously without laughing my head off. This short read is different from most Andrew Grey books that I have previously read. I enjoyed it, but I suspect that some of the author's fans might find this book to be a little too different for their tastes. It's a novella with some BDSM elements to it.Frederick has his store and is quite happy with his life. A wealthy client asks him to purchase a portrait from an auction for her. It's at the auction that Frederick crosses paths with Duncan. Frederick is in his element at the auction, and later when he heads to a club to find some company. I liked Frederick. He was confident and knew what he wanted. Frederick likes to be in control. At first, Duncan seemed to be a bit of a puzzle to me. His entrance to the auction seemed to indicate he was more dominate, but he quickly surrendes in Fredrick's presence. It's clear that Frederick sees something in Duncan and gives him a night that blows his mind. Neither initially pushes for more than their one night. As this is a short story, things move quickly. The story has some interesting twists, like Frederick being a Dom to a larger man. The story of the portrait that they both bid on was a nice addition as well. A nicely done novella with some hot scenes in it as well.

For a 35 page novella, this was a surprisingly good story. It's two men who meet at an auction. One man wins a painting that the other wants. Then they meet again at a gay bar and enter into a... relationship? Maybe? It's an incredibly short story and I don't go for erotica but for the length, etc. ... not a bad way to spend 15 minutes.

Short gay story...I mean a real short gay guy.[image error]Dari awal bcanya aku udah geli sendiri..gak salah nih si Frederik tingginya cuma 4 kaki lebih dikit?

Mr. Grey has done it again! He has given us two strong men that need each other without realizing it.Fredrick owns a very exclusive French antiques shop and one of his best customers calls asking him to attend an auction for her. He goes, he aquires the painting he was hired to get, out bidding a very good looking for it. Ducan was sent by his family, the portrait is of his great aunt and losing it to this man stings. Both go out afterwards, end up at the same bar, the Com in Fredrick comes out and Ducan bows to that persona. Ducan searches for for Fredrick, which is hard because he doesn't know more about him than he was an agent at the auction and he was told to call him Sir.A tale woven together about two men that find just what the need in each other, Duncan finds stability and commanding safety in Fredrick, and Fredrick finds a man that knows what he wants and is willing give his pleasure over to him with complete trust. Together they form a friendship that turns into a solid foundation of Love.Short and hot, romantic. Thank you, Mr. Grey and a solid 5 stars again.
