Year One (fwriction : review) Reviews

fwriction:review is special among the lot of online literary magazines for a number of reasons: first being the presence and spirit of Danny Goodman, writer-editor-founder of the mag, second the quality of the work and thirdly Danny's skill to get the magazine to readers, a composite network/analyse/review/comment activity that establishes a very lively communication between the authors, the magazine and the world-wide audience. It's a mix, in connection with the information-packed blog that most other magazines aspire to, but none do it quite as effectively. The quality of the work in this anthology: flash, shorts, poems—speaks for itself. Get it before the pixels get cold on the screen (that metaphor's screwed up, I know, pixels don't dry like ink, but this production will make you think of paper)...I'm delighted to have been able to contribute to it with my story "Mother Burning", a story that came out of a single observation and then developed into something quite existential on a small canvas. Thanks, Danny!

Danny Goodman, founder and editor extra-ordinaire, has something really special going on at his literary site, fwriction: review. Danny has profound insight as an editor, and limitless talent as a writer. I had the great fortune of reading with him at the KGB Bar in October, 2011. It was one of the highlights of my career. I am so grateful that my unusual short fiction piece, "Common Password Profile Users" is included in this fantastic Year One collection. Danny took a risk in publishing so many boundary-pushing literary pieces this year. It was what drew me back, again and again, to read his posts, and the work... every day, the commentary, and exchanges in the literary community that makes up fwriction: review.
