Whispers From The Past is the fourth Charmed book, and for me it wasn't as good as the previous three that I've read. I loved the storyline of travelling back to Salem in the 1600s and meeting the sister's ancestor, but the sisters just didn't feel true to character. The feel you get for them in the show and in the previous books was much better. Hopefully I'll like the next one more.

The fourth book in the Charmed series of books based on the TV series of the same name. I enjoyed this book more than I originally through I would, I had a blast reading it, and there were plenty of blasts and action to go around in this book. It is a welcome addition to the stories in the franchise, although it has some inconsistencies with the plot, but I'll let it go because the books are considered non-cannon. I try to piece together all media and fit them into one time line. A great light read. The only downside is that it's too short for me, and left me wanting more.

I liked the time travel aspect of the story, but that was about it. The characters didn't feel genuine to the on-screen ones, I barely recognized them and that wasn't too enjoyable. The ending was so obvious and boring. Unless you are a huge Charmed fan, I'd suggest you skip this book.

Well the only reason i read this book was because i used to be a charmed fanatic and i thought it would be cool to atucally read one of the books, and i was right i ended up liking the book just as much as the show.

Phoebe, Piper, and Prue are just minding their own business walking down the street when they are attacked by a warlock. Prue just wanted to get a pair of new boots, but when take short cut things change fast. This book was fast pace all the way from the first page to the last. I loved Rosalind Noonan's writing and this book gets five stars. I read this in three hours and forty minutes because I just couldn't put it down. I was dreading it at first, but that just proves that the back cover synopsis doesn't always mean that is how the book will turn out. I added this to my favorites and would read it again in the future. After Piper is knocked down by a crate that the warlock throws at her, Phoebe runs after him. Prue told her to wait, but the youngest Halliwell doesn't listen. She wants to find the warlock that attacked them so he can't escape. Much to Phoebe's shock the warlock turns out to be a demon in disguise. He has his human form burned away and his clothes as well.Piper and Prue hear Phoebe yelling for them, but the demon drags her into a time portal with him. Phoebe lands in the past 1676 to be exact, twenty some years after Melinda Warren, their ancestor was burned at the stake. When Phoebe lands she is completely naked because just like the demon her clothes were burned off. Phoebe is rescued by a man named Hugh Montgomery. He claims that she is his sister because the towns people are convinced at first she is a witch. After all she does have a belly button ring and is not in pain so she must be. He plays it off and takes her to Prudence Wentworth's home to give her a place to stay and rest. Prudence is the daughter of Melinda, Phoebe finds out and her five year old daughter Cassandra is Melinda's granddaughter. Piper and Prue work hard at first to find their sister, but Falcroft, the green demon is a time demon and is messing it all up. The sisters are turning against each other. Also Prudence is turning against Phoebe threatening death to her. Phoebe has no choice, but to face Prudence and get her to see the truth. It takes some doing and after a message to her sisters things start getting on track again. It is far from okay though. The sisters race against time literally to save not only Phoebe, but Prue's name sake and her daughter from the town after Hugh outs them as witches. I was not a fan of Hugh even when he saved Phoebe because it seemed to good to be true. It isn't long before he gets what he deserves though. As usually the sisters save the day and their family to be returned to the present time in the book. They arrive outside the shopping center to get not only Prue's boots, but a make over for all of them. They really need it, especially Phoebe after all the farm chores she was doing for Prudence.

This was such a fun read - Whispers from the past is one of my favourite Charmed reads so far. The story is about all three sisters, but for me it was mostly about Phoebe. I could picture the adventure exactly like it would happen in the TV show. You get to see the darker side of Prue and Piper... Let me tell you they are bad-ass! Phoebe gets sucked into a time portal while chasing a demon and gets stuck in the 1600's... The time of the witch hunts! You can just imagine how things can go wrong on both ends as Phoebe tries to get home and her sisters start turning evil slowly but surely. Final Thoughts:I can honestly say I am addicted to these quick reads! Too bad I am 10 years to late and am having trouble locating some of the books.

I had a really hard time getting into this book. Why? I don't know, the story isn't bad and the writing language is easy to read, maybe it was just my mood? The story was good though I felt a bit odd that the sisters weren't together for most of the story. Phoebe was Phoebe, the way you are used to her, maybe a bit more grown up but she was fine. Piper and Prue on the other end were really interesting to see since their behavior changed so much. The only down side to it was the repeat of some thoughts that seemed to sip in every time the story switched from Phoebe to Piper and Prue. I kinda enjoyed the book but I hope I will have an easier time getting into the other Charmed books then I had with this one.

Easy read but my least favourite of Charmed books so far. I liked the time travel plot line, I always love the sisters, but there were too many things about the book that annoyed me. For example the way Grams was referred to as Gram throughout the book and the way the demon looked and the way he acted, it was just out of character for any demon in Charmed universe.

Nice, I like the fact that Phoebe goes back in time and meets one of her ancestors. The fact that Piper an Prue turn evil is funny too.
