Wow…this is a total OTT fairytale, where it can only happen in a Mills & Boon story…which is of course one of the reasons I love their books.Jane Porter is one of my most fav romance authors – I love all her books…my favorite is her Galvan series which is awesome and have reread each book over and over again.I find her writing emotional and her characters always so engaging even if at times some things are so farfetched…but hey this is fiction after all…and we do want Cinderella to get her prince. Not fit for King? Is her latest book, the first of the two books about sister princesses‘s HEA.So what is the first one about?A story about a princess who asks someone who she barely knows and who is the EXACT image of her, to trade places for a few hours. Hours turn into days and the commoner, Hannah finds herself going to some unknown principality in Europe….to meet the real princess’s bridegroom to be….another arranged marriage…and the gorgeous, handsome, rich rich KING…this time…falls in love with Hannah, who he thinks is the real princess and who he has always disliked. But of course he cannot understand how the princess has changed so much….he has always thought her to be so immoral, so hello…when he discovers she’s a virgin, he is dumbfounded. How is it possible????? Anyway, lots of deceptions, misunderstandings….and finally discovering who she really is and by now totally smitten with the commoner Hannah, is unable to marry her because he has to marry royalty…that’s the country’s LAW…….But everything is sorted out and Hannah and her King, Zale have their HEA. Yes!!! there is a twist to why he’s suddenly able to marry her…but I am not going to give that away…..just have to read the second book, about the real princess, Emmeline. A bit twist and surprise I must tell you.The story is rather sweet and the Hannah and Zale are pretty cool together…some hot sex…must say I was quite surprised at Hannah’s FAST learning about sex…for someone who is a virgin. But hey…it’s make-believe right!!!!!!I’ll go out and buy the second book…can’t wait to know ALL the secrets about Emmeline, the rebel princess of…geez forgotten the name of the country she is from…..sure it’s going to be a fun read just like this was.oh just thought I would include the synopsisSynopsisIt's the stuff of fairytales Hannah agreed to help out a princess, and within hours she found herself engaged to a king! But this dangerous charade has to end fast, because the electrifying chemistry between them feels far too real!Zale's royal bride-to-be looks like the pampered princess he's being forced to wed yet she transforms into a feisty woman who makes his blue blood run hot! But is she fit to be his queen? He'll just have to tempt her out from beneath her tiara to find out!

The little girl in me that always dreamed of finding her fairytale prince LOVED this book - so did the grownup me. While very over the top, it was a sweet, well done book that I would have called unrealistic until Harry and Meghan. I loved Hannah and Zale. Loved the attraction from the moment they “met” and loved their HEA. While most of us will never learn that we are a long lost princess or marry into royalty, the fantasy is still delicious!

Me gustó, es sencilla, es justamente como ver Barbie la princesa y la plebeya jajaja. Pero me gusta Zale. Es un buen personaje que pudieron explotar en algo más elaborado y más grande.

I ... loved ... itI know it's very typical, that's exactly what I thought at some first pages. Some may think it's cheesy. So it's very light and quick-read indeed. But I found out I enjoy it a lot.And having Paul Marron on the cover, it's pretty easy for me to visualize Zale. *droolingZale ... what a name. Never encountered any novel with that name. And I like it. Most of time, I'm not really interested with hero from Arab and others, Italy, Russia, Spain ... But I was so drawn to Zale. I loved Zale and Hannah character. And now I just can't wait to read the next book about Emmeline. ^^

I really enjoyed this story. It was fun to see a Texas girl get a chance to be a princess! I loved how Zale was not just a king but a soccer star, a track star, and even a surfer! The hero's personal losses and his family tragedies were handled well and added depth to his character. Raguvia is a made up country but I really enjoyed the minor Raguvian characters and especially the quaint little hotel Hannah stays in at the very end.SPOILER ALERTThe one thing that really annoyed me about this book was the ending, where Hannah turns out to be the "identical twin" of the princess she was impersonating. Hardly the most original solution to the problem. Can't we do better, authors?

Yıllar önce okuduğum bir Barbara Cartland romanına konusu neredeyse birebir benziyordu..Bu ikizli konuları çok seviyorum..Kaç kere okusamda hiç sıkılmıyorum...Hepimizin bazen masala ihtiyacı oluyor...Hannah kendisine benziyen prensese yardım ederken işlerin bu kadar karışacağını tahmin edemezdi..Belli bir süre sadece bir günlüğüne onun yerine geçecekti ve zamanını da otelde geçirecekti..Ama plan tutmadı..Bu prensesin evleneceği adama da aşık olarak işler dahada karıştı...Çok sevdim..Ne yapayım...Masalları seviyorum....

This is actually part of a series, I read Emma's story a while back and wondered if there was another book that had Hannah's story. This one was that! I really liked hearing what happened on Hannah's end, we know that Emma got her wish of a 'prince' and now it was Hannah's turn. It didn't disappoint. I loved the heroine and was so grateful she got her happy ending and baby. The hero was kind of brooding but he was likable as well and turned out to be such a great guy.

Great Its a great read that will keep you wondering how it's going to end. However, when I got to the ending I was a bit crushed. It could've been more dramatic but it fell a bit flat hence my rating of 4.

I loved zale. Utterly a hero that would make heart melt. I also liked heroine. "Liked" only because I felt she cheated princess emy when she made her bed with zale... but I can almost forgive her because of the storyline itself and because she fell so unexpectedly in love. Overall I loved the story and I can read it again as and when I want to feel good!

Aww this was such a cute book! It was definitely like a fairytale, but that's exactly how I like them! The characters are so lovable and they go through so many trials to try and be with their one true love. Hannah is a girl everyone can relate to; she's not super skinny, she doesn't always know what the right thing to do is, and she's just a normal girl. Well, until she meets a princess who looks EXACTLY like her, switches places with her, and finds herself drawn to the princess's fiancé. And boy, I can see why Hannah is so fond of him! Zale is the super fit, super sweet prince that really are only found in fairytales. He's tired of being played by Emmeline (the real princess, not Hannah) as she goes off to see her boyfriend while being engaged to him, so he can't understand why she's changed this time he's meeting her. As Zale and Hannah grow closer, it gets harder for Hannah to live her lie that she knows will end as soon as Emmeline gets herself on a plane over there and finally switches back. But it would be so hard to resist the handsome king! Watching Zale and Hannah grow closer despite both of their conflicting feelings is so addicting and I didn't want to stop reading their story. As always with these books, it was way too short, but the story was good for the length that was given. Yeah, it was a bit predictable too, but I never said that was a bad thing! If you want to cute book that will just make you feel good after reading it, definitely pick this one up! I can't wait to read the next one book and finally hear Emmeline's side of the story!

In the first book of the series, we meet Hannah, personal assistant to Sheikh Makin Al-Koury, and King Zale. Hannah, while overseeing a polo match for the sheikh, meets Princess Emmeline who’s resemblance to Hannah is uncanny. Little does she realize that her life is about to take a 180 when the princess asks her to switch places for a few hours. When a few hours turn into a few days, she is forced to board a plane to meet the princess’ intended, King Zale. King Zale, expecting a pampered princess, is caught off guard by Hannah’s feistiness, strong-willed personality, and her kind heart. Hannah continues to impersonate Princess Emmeline, and against her will, finds herself falling in love with Zale. Along with the primary characters, there is a small supporting cast of a loving nanny and a mentally-challenged brother that add another element to the story. As in true Jane Porter fashion, she weaves a wonderful love story with characters you can’t help but love, along with scenery so vividly described that you feel you are there. Add a little Jane intrigue, and you have the perfect weekend read. If you are not already a Jane Porter fan, you will be by the time you finish this book (series). I received a copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.

Princess Emmeline and King Zale are to be married. Their soon to be (arranged) marriage has been known since Zale was 15. However, Emmeline has been having an affair throughout their one year engagement. While in Palm Beach, Princess Emmeline meets Hannah. Hannah is the spitting image of Emmeline. Emmeline asks Hannah to switch places with her for a few hours so she can go out and not be recognized as the princess. What was suppose to be only a few hours turned into days. Hannah ended up flying to Raguva, as Emmeline, where she not only met the King, but fell in love with him. While carrying on the charade of being Emmeline, Hannah not only fell for King Zale ... she fell hard. She was torn between knowing that Emmeline was not the right person for Zale to marry and keeping up the secret that she really wasn't Emmeline. This book has you falling in love and believing that you don't always have control over what your heart tells you is right. I loved the ending of the book, but as not to spoil it, I will not go into details. I gave this book a 5 out of 5 star rating. I loved the characters and story line. It had me believing in romance and true love. This is a must read for anyone who enjoys a good love story! Another amazing book by Jane Porter.

My Rating: 3.0Obtained: Through Goodreads First Reads I was so glad when I won Fit For A King? though a goodreads first reads giveaway. I always loved reading situations of a real royalty member falling for a regular everyday person, such as the book The Princess and the Pauper written by Kate Brian. Fit For A King? was like The Princess and the Pauper: a real princess and a normal everyday girl swapping places with one another. I love how Jane Porter executed the book. Every moment was filled with suspense - will Hannah ever tell Zale the truth? What if he figures it out beforehand? Their chemistry is amazing, but will it end when he figures everything out? The solution was satisfying, but a bit too predictable for my taste. Jane Porter definitely made me look forward to reading Emmeline's story, especially since my impression of Emmeline is not so good after what she did to Hannah. I want to learn why she did what she did and if she got her own happily ever after.ohdamnbooks: not fit for a king?

Five stars, you guys. Seriously. Besides the instantaneous attraction between our hero and heroine, besides the well-written maturation from lonely king who keeps himself from love to avoid being hurt to open and trusting man, besides how awesomely real our heroine is even for a typical mistaken identity princess tale... This book contains the single most erotic passage of any book that I have ever read. I know that's a heady statement to make, but I read this like a month ago, and haven't forgotten a single word of what occurred. It was memorable, steamy, and completely delicious.Read this book. Seriously.Oh and it's Chapter 11 that caused all the breathlessness, or, as I call it, The Passion of the Parapet.

The plot was beyond silly, even for a Harlequin Presents, but I found myself enjoying the book all the same. The author did a good job with creating an alpha male hero with a sweet side, which is a tough balancing act. The heroine was a bit of a dope but had to be in order for the story to work. And the ending was a bit too simple and unrealistic - it was actually the reason I couldn't give this book more stars. However, this author writes well and I will probably read more of her books in the future.

I can't quite believe I'm rating this 4 stars, but of all the books I took with me on vacation, I enjoyed this the most. Its totally, as one might say, a [email protected]#$ng fairy-tale, but who can resist the story of separated-at-birth twin sisters, one a small town Texas gal and the other a European princess, who trade places? This story just focused on our Texan masquerading as a princess and the king she falls in love with, and I must confess to being very glad I checked it out from the library. Now to look for its sequel...

3.5 stars -- It was nice to get back to just some light Harlequin reading... I always seem to enjoy Ms. Porter's books, and this one was no exception. It was hard how long Hannah kept Zale in the dark, but I enjoyed watching them fall in love with each other and that won out in the end for how I overall enjoyed the book. I'm disliking Emmeline at the moment though, so will be interesting to see how I enjoy the next book....

It was a decent read, but I m not usually a fan of royalty romance, I think they are OTT fairy tales that has nothing to do with reality or real people. I couldn't warm to Hannah, I couldnt find any plausible justification for her behavior to pretend to be princess Emmeline, or to continue the charade for so long, and most of all I couldn't go past the fact that she slept with Zale, Emmeline s fiance, under false pretences. That kind of ruined the book for me.

I received this through the GoodReads Giveway. This was what I assume is a typical Harlequin type of book. Quick to read, improbable plot but fun. It took less than an hour to read and did cart me off to an imaginary scenario. It's a typical switch places, fall in love, hide the truth, reveal the truth, despair and finally the inevitable happiness.

the premise of this book is totally off the wall, but the author manages to almost make the reader believe it. in this day of computers, super security, identity theft, etc., it's impossible to think that one woman substituting for another without extensive preparation, can happen with the imposter pulling it off for any length of time.

I do not usually read contemporary books but this one was great! A fast, hot read! Hannah switches places with look alike Princess Emmeline, thinking it will only be for a day. Unaware that royalty is a different business, she is introduced to Finance, King Zale. They promptly fall in love. Emmeline doesn't re-appear and thus Hannah finds herself in a quagmire.

This book I simply loved. To me it's one of Jane's best Harlequins so fare. It was so easy to be drawn in to the story and connect with the characters. Very well written. I can't wait to finish reading Book 2 in Jane's Royalty Duo, "His Majesty's Mistake". This book, "Not Fit for a King?" is Book 1 in Jane's Royalty Duo.

Jane Porter does it again! This is a beautifully written modern-day fairy tale. I was captivated by the story, unable to put it down while the characters made their way towards their happily ever after. It's a must-read, especially if you're looking for an escape this summer.

Yes, it was a predictable storyline but that didn't take away from this book. It was written well and I loved it! Hannah was a breath of fresh air from Emmeline. Zale, wow a HOT King! and they did make magic! HEA :-)

Wonderfully fun! Wouldn't you love to change lives with someone who looks like you and live their life for the day? Hannah trades places with the princess, Emmeline and gets more then she bargained for. She falls in love with King Zale. I couldn't put this book down.
