**Spoilage**Throughout the entire 38% of this book that I did read, I was confused from the first page. Do I call it Urban Fantasy? No, it started out in the 1600's. Can I call it Sci-Fi? Nope, I think you need Extraterrestrials of some sort to qualify as Sci-Fi. Is it Paranormal romance? Well...I don't know. And that was basically the problem the entire book. I really didn't know. Anything. Which was truly disappointing. The premise for the book was the first thing that was unclear to me. The book is in First Person and Hannah, our main character is the one whose sharing. The book starts off with Hannah telling us about her best friend Gabriel and how he kissed her randomly one time. Gabriel's dad shit a brick because of it. Then at the drop of a hat, the story shifts to where she's twenty-one or something and her mother is about to be put on trial for Witchcraft and burned at the stake.Holy hellfire, right? Pun intended. Sounds like some seriously dramatic shit is about to go down. But no. Hannah is all tell and hardly any emotion during this. And with what she tells us, I couldn't get a clear picture of what was happening because she jumps around from one thing to another so quickly. In fact, most of the book is all tell and no show and with what we're told, it just confuses me.Apparently, Hannah and her mother are what you call guardians. Or Venatorcustos. Don't ask, because I truly don't know how to explain it. There was a mentioning of Crudelitas which, apparently, are some sects of Supernatural creature. I'm not sure if all Supes can be called that, because later on in the book, there are Vamps calling Witches Crudelitas. *Shrugs* I dunno. Thus, my confusion. There weren't that many errors in the actual body of the writing...at first but as I went along, more and more started popping up to the point that there seemed to be at least one on every kindle page I turned.Honestly, I can be critical - very critical apparently - about grammatical errors, etc. and I promise you I have a reason for it. I, myself am an aspiring author. I take writing very seriously and each sentence I write in my writing is just an extension of my soul. When editors are called in to do what - EDIT someone's baby, in my eyes they should do just that. Edit it. In more and more of the work I'm reading now, someone is sleeping on the motherfluffing job and that is unacceptable. Every author I know spills their heart out onto a blank page and fills it up with amazing writing that leaps off the page at you and burrows into the heart of the reader, taking them off to a far away land where they don't have to deal with their own real life problems. If only for a minute. And when an editor doesn't catch the typos, mistakes, misuse of grammar or lack thereof, you are doing the author and readers a serious disservice.Anywho, enough of that rant. The editor on this book, IMO, should have paid sharper attention or something. Because there were a lot of "....going with you!.' He stated." No. You cannot put an exclamation point on the end of a sentence and say someone stated something. Doesn't work that way. Also, I felt like Gillian Joy bounced around from time to time in this book, it stopped her characters from developing fully. I felt like none of her characters really had a voice. They were all so generic and cookie-cutter, they could have been plucked from a different story and pasted into this one. I didn't like it. At one point, the vampires come in and I wanted to put the book down then. It was all so...weird.And very reminiscent of Bella from Twilight's "changing". And no. Not in a good way. The "romance", if it can even be called that. Apparently, Hannah was supposed to be in love with Gabriel but her love lacked serious emotion. In fact, she actually got involved with a different guy all together but still felt the need to inform us that she "didn't know how she felt" but she had "these feelings" for Jesse and Gabriel. Hannah never knew how she felt but apparently, she had to be in love with both of them. It felt forced. At the point that I stopped reading, Hannah had just gotten "reborn" and it jumped forward about...I dunno. Long enough for her to have lived an entirely separate life and have a husband that died and two small children. I just...I expected more. And sadly, I didn't get it.

Hannah is the girl next door. She is pretty, some would even say very pretty. She has as best friend, a boy named Gabriel. He is the IT boy in town. His father is the sheriff and thus a truly influential man. And so begins the story, like most other stories, with a boy and a girl. Oh and a kiss. But Hannah is not the girl next door. She is pretty yes, but she has a destiny. She is the Guardian - the Venatorcustos. She was born from a line of Guardians. Her mother, Susannah served the world in this capacity for 600 years and her mother before her, well maybe as long as 3000 years. Hannah has a past, a destiny and a responsibility that could cost her everything she holds dear. Guardians are responsible for Crudelitas! They are to make sure that they do not harm humans, that they do not take dominance over some group or the other. She is the keeper of order. Tough job when dealing with Vampires, mermaids and witches to name but a few! Oh sorry. Did I did mention that Fairies and werewolves and such are indeed Crudelitas? Luckily Hannah is born with all the collective memory of every proceeding Guardian. But Hannah's memory could not save the life of her mother, her super human powers could do nothing to save the life of her father Jonathan and her love did nothing to change the fate of her beloved Gabriel! Structurally Guardian is fast paced and entertaining. The character development of Hannah and Bernard is especially endearing. Hannah is truly human. The little girl grows up to be a willful young woman and with that comes temper tantrums and impatience. Hannah is most certainly very human, and I loved this aspect of the story. Bernard, a character introduced nearly at the start of the book, is portrayed as eccentric and loveable. He is a grandfatherly type with hidden depths that I myself can't wait to learn more about in the next book of this trilogy. One character however never goes through any growth. I found that puzzling since the characterization of main and peripheral characters are expertly done through out the book. The character of Gabriel however shows a complete lack of growth. But it soon dawned on me that the answer is simple. Gabriel is perfect! He can't get any more perfect. I found this a brilliant characterization move on Gillian part and loved Gabriel all the more for his state of being eternally perfect and eternally Hannah's first and only love. I really loved reading the book. Peripheral characters are introduced with regular intervals and the depths of their roles in the story fully explored. The characters are either very human, very Angelic, perfectly perfect or truly evil. Very little grey areas exists in the world of the Guardian and this contrast to the real world is expertly revealed later on in the book when Hannah's' real life and her life as a Guardian meets in the living room of her house in Australia. I always feel as if I should choose my words carefully when doing a review as not to give out spoilers. With Guardian I find it especially difficult since it is indeed a tangled web Gillian wove. I highly recommend Guardian to any lover of YA Paranormal literature and give it a six out of five scale rating. Not only do I recommend the book to readers but I would happily gift it to my best friend to read and enjoy.

When I first set eyes on the cover of Guardian I was blown away by how stunningly gorgeous it is. And let me tell you that the story does not disappoint either!!Guardian contains all the supernatural you could possibly want and more. There are vampires, witches, werewolves and more!! Guardian has them all.... And at the heart of it all is Hannah who is incredibly strong willed and independent. She is sassy and not someone that you want to mess with!! ......And Gabriel who has loved her since he was just a boy. His is a love that even time and distance could not waiver.....Guardian was an incredibly easy read because of the depth of the characters and Gillian Joy's ability to draw you into her story. Guardian is a must read and I cannot wait to see where book 2 will take us!!

This book was enjoyable enough. I was hoping for more action and romance, especially romance. As is, I am frustrated with Hannah! I love Gabriel, but she just won't give it a chance when they are just meant to be. This story is mostly about Hannah, the Guardian's, journey over 300 years, and her revenge with the vampire she can't find, and the surprises along the way. I look forward to reading the next book.

I received this book free from the author, in exchange of a honest review. Thank you Gillian!I really loved this book. When I first saw it and read the blurb, I knew that I have to read it. The story is amazing. Though it's a story with vampires, it's very different. The vampires have different characteristics and there are a lot of things that are unique. I loved that thing. I'm always looking for a different story with vampires and I found it in "Guardian".While I was reading "Guardian", I left my world. Everything around me faded and it was just me and this amazing story. Gillian writes very good, and she definitely knows how to make you love her stories. The characters are very well portrated and believable. I loved Gabriel and I easy understod that he loves Hannah very much. Hannah is lovely. Her character is amazing. As for Jesse... I liked him too, but there were some moments when I totally wanted to get in the book and scream at him. xDThe fast-pace kept me reading. When I couldn't read, I was wondering "What is going to happen next to Hannah?". There are moments when you hold your breathe, waiting to see what's happening. I was totally hooked up by this book and I loved it!But, between the action and the love, there are heart-breaking moments. I even cried when Hannah's mom died. Gillian described her feeling so well that it broke my heart and I hated those humans that did this to them. The reason I rated with 4 stars though I loved it it's because of the editor. She didn't make a good job editing this book. There are many mistakes. I found so many mistakes of punctuation and it bothered me very much because sometimes you didn't understand what Gillian wanted to say. Sometimes I was wondering if this book was edited.Overall, this is a story that you all will love! I loved it very much and I want to see what will happen next. Can't wait to read "Forever"! Hannah seems a normal girl. Her best friend is a boy named Gabriel. She tells him everything. But one day, Hannah finds out that she's not normal at all. She's a Venatorcustos (boy, it took me hours to get used to this name) and she's responsable ,like all the Guardians for Crudelitas. Her mother, Susannah, is a Guardian too. She is 600 years old! Yes, you read good: 600 years! A Guardian can live as long as there is just one Guardian. After she finds out what she is, Hannah wants to tell Gabriel everything about it. But he kissed her. And that's when the story begins. Gabriel is the son of the sheriff of their little town, so their family is well seen in town. Gabriel's dad doesn't like Hannah at all. When he heards that Gabriel kissed Hannah he's very angry. After 6 weeks after the kiss, Hannah and Gabriel decide that they are just best friends and nothing more. After this, Hannah tells Gabriel everthing ebout what she is. Gabriel is very calm about all this and he tells Hannah that they will be best friends forever, no metter what.Hannah is very happy. After many years, Hannah's life is turned upside down when Gabriel comes very scared at her home and tells her that they have to run- that his dad knows everything about Hannah and her mom and that they are coming after them. Hannah is very scared and she contactes her mom through mindspeaking (I loved this thing!). Bad news: they got her mom. They accused her of witchcraft and they believe that Hannah is a witch too.Behind all this thing is father Gabriel's father, who still believes that Gabriel loves Hannah. He wants Gabriel aways from Hannah and he thinks that by killing her is the best way to do it. But Hannah's mom makes a deal with him: if he will let Hannah and her Dad alone, she will say that she's a witch and they can kill her. The sheriff accepts, but he wants Hannah and her Dad away from the town and from Gabriel. The deal is made.So Susannah will die. Her time is up. Hannah is devastated. Not only she loses her mom, she loses her best friend. But Hannah finds out she has some deep feelings for Gabriel- she loves him. But he has to go back to his family , while she has to run away. This breaks her heart even more after her mom's death. Now, Hannah is the Guardian. She has to learn how to use her skills and how to take care of Crudelitas by her own. Want to knows what will happen to Hannah? What she'll go through? Then read "Guardian"!Once again, I loved this book! I recommend it to all the fantasy lovers!

Hannah once becomes of age, has a destiny to fulfil. After a heart wrenching turn of events Hannah moves on to be the Guardian -** The Venatorcustos to live and protect and destroy all in harm’s way. Hannah has known this is her calling in life, since the age of 12 and her mother has prepared her for when the day comes. Hannah’s duty – responsibility is for the Crudelitas. She ensures that they do not harm humans, or anyone that doesn’t warrant. Being a guardian – gives Hannah powers like no other, she is the keeper whom keeps order among the Crudelitas – mermaids, nephillium, Fairies, werewolves, Vampires and witches. Hannah is strong willed, brave, determined and a lady not to be reckoned with and all the supernatural creatures know so... However one of them wants her dead. Gabriel has always been Hannah’s best friend, always having loved her since the first kiss; Hannah knows that she cannot pursue a love with a Crudelitas. Jess and Gabriel fight for Hannah’s affection, a love that either will never be able to have. Will Hannah get to have her happy ever after, her life has been filled with loss and love, but is time running out? My thoughts.Guardian is an intriguing storyline, filled to the brim with lots of goodies for any reader. It’s a paranormal read, filled with romance, action, love, loss and a uniquely created guardian roll. It’s paced well, keeping the reader interested right till the last page has been turned, and it will draw you into the pages within the first few chapters. The dialogue is smooth flowing and the storyline progresses at a rate that will certainly keep the reader flipping right till the last pages. Gillian has blended all aspects of the story well, giving us romance, that is heart-warming, action, suspense and enough to keep the readers interested piqued till the last page has been turned.Guardian is Gillian’s debut novel and I have to say an absolute success. !! She has created characters that are strong, all with their own personal characteristics and traits, put forth. Gabriel was every girls dream, hot, gorgeous, caring and determined and so swoony!!! Hannah was brave, human and kick arse she goes through many obstacles in her life, making her a strong willed character that you will see grow within the pages. Gillian has created many likeable characters in this story, and also the villains are put forth giving us depth into their characteristics. Overall, a wonderfully delivered storyline, that will keep any lover of the paranormal world intrigued. Well delivered characters, compelling storyline and certainly leaving the reader wanting more way past the last page has been turned!!*** OH MY and check out the cover ** just stunning !! I know dont just a book buy it cover but believe me the inside is a good as the outside !! Grab ur copy today !! A fellow aussie ** Id have to say - Im certainly stoked ** Cant wait to read Forever !

Guardian by Gillian Joy was a superb read. I loved the main book character Hannah, right from the first few chapters. Gillian made Hannah's character very real and believable, even though Hannah turns out to be the next Venatorcustos (a Guardian that keeps order among Crudelitas, which is another word for supernatural beings).Gillian masterfully brings Hannah's world into our's, with a well written storyline that keeps reader's intrigued from start to finish and will make many reader's hunt down the 2nd book in this series 'Forever' as soon as they finish the first. While reading Guardian, I even found myself crying at a heart breaking scene between Hannah and her mother very early on in the book, I think it was only on page 44, so I suggest you make sure you have a few tissues around, you might be in need of them. A book rarely brings me to tears, but that scene sure did. Another thing I liked was how Gillian based her book in the USA (even though she is a Australian writer) but also still gave readers a bit of Australia, when Hannah .... Oh you thought I was going to tell you... *start's to laugh in a evil kinda way* ... sorry but you will have to read the book to find out what I was talking about. Now moving on to more sexy topics. I fell in love with Gabriel (one of Hannah's love interests) pretty early on in this book, so poor Jesse (Hannah's other love interest) didn't stand a chance with me, even though Hannah thought other wise. OK Team Jesse book fans are not going to like what I'm about to say but hey its my book review isn't it. Any way really got under my nerves, many many times during the book. I guess I had a hard time liking Jesse cause he always felt like a kid wanting to sit at the grown up table with Hannah and Gabriel. Jesse had tantrums when he didn't get his way and use to sulk on many occasion's. I swear he felt like the annoying little brother you could never get rid of or to stop showing off when you had your friends over. I still can not see what Hannah saw in him... or I didn't want to see what Hannah saw in him with Gabriel standing so close and in arms reach.Overall Guardian is a book I am happy to recommend to any of my reader's, who love books with supernatural themes, great story lines and believable characters. Guardian really stands out as a amazing début novel by Gillian Joy. I can not wait to read more books in this series and see what other books Gillian might have stored away, just waiting to be put on paper in the future. Guardian by Gillian Joy gets a 5 star rating from this Paranormal Goddess and I recommend you check this author and her books 'Guardian' and the 2nd book in this series 'Forever' out. Will you be adding "Guardian by Gillian Joy" to your reading list or have you all ready had the pleasure of reading it? If so. Let's talk.

GuardianBy: Gillian JoyAISN: B005TKPEH0Published October 6, 2011Available Format: ebookMy Rating: ★★★★☆From very early on, Hannah knew she would one day become the Guardian, keeper and protector of all supernatural. She didn’t expect, however, the excruciating pain (both literally and emotionally) she would endure when her mother was murdered or the difficult choices she would face in her future. Heart-broken and forbidden from pursuing her true love, Hannah decides to start over. But, no one can truly escape destiny, and time will only tell if Hannah is able to reconcile her duty with her heart. This is a little something new for the paranormal lovers. Yes, you have your vampires and werewolves and witches and nephilium, but the focus is on the Guardian – the one person in all the world that is tasked with controlling every other supernatural being. And, she can kick butt with just her mind! How awesome is that?!? There were a couple things that bothered me as I read. First of all, Hannah is over three hundred years old. Even being mainstreamed into society, I would expect her to speak and act much more mature and proper. It is fine for her to be relatable, but I felt she was missing that extra wisdom that she certainly would have acquired over all those years. I think Gabriel was much more mature than Hannah, and I guess I just wanted her to grow up a little. Also, at some point after we discover Hannah has children of her own, the story starts to slow down quite a bit. I think some of the extra could have been edited out to help the story move along a little faster. It did pick up eventually; it is just hard for me to take off my editing hat when I’m reading sometimes .I was really anticipating the release of this book, and it was a truly great read. The characters are all interesting, and the romance of the story is important but subtle enough it doesn’t completely overtake the story. I think the more Gillian writes, the better she will get, and I am definitely excited to see what happens as this series continues!

First thing’s first, I have to say that the cover of ‘Guardian’ is just stunning! It is just beautiful, inside and out. The cover was one of the first things capturing my attention to Gillian’s Facebook page, Guardian, and that then brought me to become caught and hooked to the plot! I’ve always thought that it is one of the most beautiful book covers I’ve laid eyes upon! Hannah is a head-strong, determined and beautiful girl. But she is not just these things. She has a destiny, one that could eradicate all that she holds close to her. She is the Venatorcustos, the Guardian of all supernatural. She was born with these powers, the ability to recall all memories of Guardians preceding her. She also has the ability to heat the mind of any being around her, reducing them to a pile of ash!Guardian was a fast-paced book, capturing the reader with ever turn of the page (Or flick of the screen!)! The characters all developed as the book progressed, all except Gabriel I believe. But this didn’t come as a surprise, because in my eyes, Gabriel is already perfect, he is one flawless being! I love all the characters deeply, and felt I could connect to them easily whenever a new face made an appearance. I do particularly love how Hannah has ‘guy troubles,’ and this is expertly done as many books nowadays have the element of boy-meets-girl, they fall in love, and this book was different, it was a quality that I did enjoy. I don’t want to give away any spoilers by accident, so I think I’m going to stop there. But if there is one thing I can stress…If you have not read Guardian, by the amazingly talented Gillian, it is well worth a read! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute I spent reading this book, taking in all of the magnificent details that Gillian had woven into this magical world! It is definitely without a doubt a Five out of Five star rating from me! Thank you so much, Gillian, for letting me review Guardian for you! I absolutely, thoroughly loved it! I cannot wait to see what Forever, book two, has in store for us!

Hannah inherits the role of Guardian from her mother when she is burned as a witch in Salem in the 1600’s. The Guardian keeps the Crudelitas, those supernatural beings in the human world like vampires, werewolves, witches, warlocks, and the like, from harming the humans or each other. Wielding great power, she is able to kill with energy alone, talk from great distances into someone’s head, and project herself into a familiar place from a distance. But she can also give her heart to someone, experience loss by death, and frustration. She has those who love her enough to follow her, wait for her, and to die for her. She fights her feelings for two of the Crudelitas, believing she should never be with them in love. Will she ever find someone that will fulfill that spot for her?Meantime, the one who ordered her mother’s death is still alive after 300 years, there is chaos brewing in the Crudelitas society, and someone is looking for her to kill her. She doesn’t have long to find who is behind all of the trouble before she believes she will die and the next Guardian will take over.I really loved this book. Gillian Joy has given The Guardian a lot of plot twists and turns, several changes to the story and it kept me guessing how she was going to end it. She really packed in the surprises, I would think I had her story figured out and then “Surprise!” she would have Hannah or one of the other characters do something that would completely change what I thought would happen. While Hannah has a love life, it wasn’t graphic so the book is suitable for teens as well as adults who want a great story. And the next in the series, Forever, is out so you have the chance to keep going on Hannah’s adventure.

Review for "Guardian" Author Gillian JoyThe very minute my eyes were laid upon the delicious paranormal feast that is "Guardian" I knew there was no putting this incredible story down and that's exactly what happened I started reading yesterday on and off once I reached chapter 4 I couldn't put it down again I read till 2 am then couldn't sleep because I had to know what was going to happen ... My eyes eventually betrayed me and sleep won but no sooner than I woke I had "Guardian" back in my hands and greedily finished it.... "Guardian" has a delectable spread of the supernatural and has a amazing story line and well written strong & dependable Characters ..... Of Course I fell madly in love with one of the characters after all "Boys in books are just better" Gabriel (my love interest) is a well developed character who really portrays that no matter what happens in life or where our paths lead us that true love endures no matter the length of time or distance! ....Hannah is strong , independent and a little bit too stubborn and self sacrificing but she is goodhearted and always has the best of intentions .... While there are many more endearing characters Hannah & Gabriel were the ones who stood out to me and captured my heart! I will be anxiously awaiting book 2 in this series because I'm left with alot of questions and assumptions that I can't wait to find out! I give Guardian 5 out of 5 starsAnd it my recommendation if you haven't read it then start NOW !Reviewed by~Danielle~

GuardianBy: Author Gillian JoyRiveting and Brilliantly Awesome!!!I fell right into the story with such ease. I loved the flow of the story and how all the characters complimented one another within their personal and supernatural abilities. I’m in awe with the way that “Author Gillian Joy” created each segment and chapter. The brilliance in how she captures her reader’s attention with magical worlds and creatures within our normal reality and world. Just the idea of how her created worlds coexist, flourish and even sometimes explode was breath taking. The vivid detail with which she brings every creatively constructed creature, surroundings and their individual worlds to life was amazing. I found myself on the edge of my seat, crying and laughing with them and fighting with them as well. Experiencing “Author Gillian Joy’s” brilliant story telling was amazingly awesome!!! It was like a combination of “Charmed”, “The Matrix” and “The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe” mix together making a terrific fantasy read……I was so enthralled that when it ended I had to purchase and download her next novel in this series “Forever” that picked right up after the “Guardian” ended. An Absolute Amazing Adventure and Read!!! A definite 5 Stars!!! {WaAr}Reviewed by: De Ann “Native” Townes Jr. Author of “Peer Inside My Soul and See Me” and “A King Among Prince”

I givie it 5/5. First of all I have to say I LOVED Guardian! I read almost half the book the first night. It is action packed with love stories, friendships, fight scenes, and obstacles to over come. The author Gillian Joy,did a good job at defining the characters and making them seem real.I felt like I was Hannah as I read the book.I could feel what she felt and see what she saw.Hannah is the Guardian of ALL supernatural beings which includes vampires, witches, werewolves, nephilim, mermaids, and fairies. It is her heritage to become the next guardian. Her job is to make sure all supernatural beings do not kill or harm each other or humans without probable cause. She takes her job seriously and will not stand to be disobeyed.Yes,she is strong willed, independent, and determined. At the same time, she is caring, vulnerable, and a trustworthy friend. She befriends a Bernard,a warlock, who is like a father figure to her and an old friend of her mother's,a few vampires(which two she may have feeling for but refuses to let herself let involved with a supernatural being),and a young witch.Together the embark on a journey to set all the supernatural beings straight and once again bring peace and lawfulness just as there was when her grandmother was Guardian. Will this be accomplished?

I love the book were to start with out spoiling the book um. Wen ever I stared reading the book I was confused with the Prologue "Are you sure?" he asked solemnly."Yes," I answered in rasping breaths. "Positive.""It's going to be about twenty-four hours of absolute agony," he stated.Jump to the end of prologue Then I felt the sting as he sunk his teeth in. I was intrigue I knew from the last sentence that I was going to LIKE the book. After a few chapter I was so in to the book that I couldn't put the book down. I admired Hannah strong Character from the beginning, not like the typical wining characters. Gabriel is so admiring even though he loves Hannah he is men enough to let Hannah decide for her self.I couldn't help but laugh, even get sad and want to cry. In some parts of the book I though okay I know whats next turn the page, slap in the face surprised by the twist and turns of events. Wen the Extended description from Smashwords says "Hannah flees her life in an attempt to start over." oh wow it is really a shock never thought in million years what it really meat. Surprised by what that really meant. Overall I LOVE Guardian it is full of surprises, intense moment, sad and happy moments.

Guardian by Gillian JoyI have to say I thoroughly loved the book Guardian by Gillian Joy.  I couldn't put it down which made it hard for me as a single mom of a six year old.  I enjoyed immensely the story of Hannah who was a Venatorcustos which is a guardian of other species such as werewolves, vampires, witches, and nephilim.  She is the decision maker for these species if any were to get out of line or hurt innocent people it was up to her to take care of them.  She became the guardian because her mother and her grandmother were also guardians.  After a tragedy that occurs Hannah is forced to step up as the Guardian and for awhile she takes vengeance to a new light.  Until she meets up with friends from her past she decides to change her way of dealing with her pain and focus on the future.  Through her journeys she is reunited with people from her past in unexpected ways and together they help her to look forward to a change in the way the species live amongst themselves.  I definitely am looking forward to book 2 Forever in the series then the 3rd book Revenge.  I recommend this book to everyone there is no extreme violence or adult themes in this book  I would let my 11 year old niece read without any reservation.  Thank you Gillian for sharing Hannah's story with me.

I first met author Gillian through a friend. And I gave what advice I could to help her get her book out to the world and I was lucky enough to get a copy to review. I apologise to Gillian for taking so long with this review, life just keeps getting in the way.Firstly look at that AMAZING cover! It just reels you in and what lies inside hooks you and doesn't let you go.When I started reading this book I was blown away by how well everything is described, especially the characters, nothing is left out and it gives you an indepth to each character. Gillian has gone all out with her amazing story, every page brings us something new and exciting. I was literally glued to each page and got all excited and tear jerky in alot of different parts, it takes you on an emotional journey with the main characters Hannah and her best friend Gabriel. The ending will leave you ready to devour more. This is Gillian debut novel and she has done an exceptional job and I look forward to seeing where book 2 takes us. If you haven't read this book yet than I recommend you get yourself a copy, sit in a relaxing chair with a hot cuppa and just dive right in you won't be disappointed.

I must admit I had a hard time putting this book down. Gillian Joy did a fantastic job weaving actual events into this fictional story. We are first introduced to Hannah and her mother, who have an intriguing (and at times heart-wrenching) relationship. The death of her mother threw her through a loop just as she was learning how to be the guardian of the supernatural world. While she lost her way for a while, she spent a long time getting her life back on track. I don't want to ruin too much if the story, but finding out that some people from her old life survived really made my day!The different species of supernatural beings also caught (and kept) my attention. This story has witches, werewolves, vampires, nephilim, fairies, and angels! Some of my favorite things!I have to say, the wait for the next book is going to be a very long one, and I'll be picking this book up again for several rereads in the future! It has everything! Fantastic characters, intriguing storyline, awkward love triangles, heartwarming relationships of all kinds, and several questions I will have a hard time waiting for the next book to have answered!

The cover for this book is what first caught my eye, beautiful! This is the first book I have read by the author and she is now on my "must get a hold of her books" list. This book has a little bit of everything, vampires, werewolves, and witches, to name a few. It is refreshingly different from other books in it's genre that are out right now. I fell in love with Hannah right from the beginning. She is strong willed, independent, and can be a handful from time to time. The book revolves around Hannah and her journey of her "chosen" life. The ups, the downs, and everything in between. I felt every emotion each character did and have a special feeling for each of them. I could go on and on about Gillian's creativeness in this book, but find it hard to do so without spoiling for everyone. I loved this book and can't wait to get my hands on "Forever". I highly recommend this book to all paranormal addicts. The only thing you will regret is that you run out of pages.

From the very start of this book things were happening and there was never a dull moment for me, I fell in love with Hanna and Gabe. I would defiantly recommend this book to my readers out there. Guardian has vampires, witches, werewolves and more!! Gillian really made her character’s come to life in this book! After Hanna was forced experience her mother’s death because of the supernatural connection they had, Hanna had to leave the place she grew up and her father. Centuries Later Hanna finds her long lost friend Gabriel (whom she loves), and Jesse (a vampire) who would give anything to be with her. As Guardian she is forbidden to fall in love with any of the supernatural. Her life in chaos over her relationships and she can’t find her mother’s killer, Hanna decides it is all way too much to handle and she starts over. Will she ever find a way to be with her love Gabriel and find the person reasonable for her mother’s death all while doing her job as Guardian?

I really enjoyed this book. It time jumps a few times and the last time I was a little afraid I wouldn't like it cuz it had changed so much, it was almost like a different story. But i was happy to be wrong, because I really enjoyed it. Once I really got into it i had a hard time putting it down. Hannah is an interesting character. Shes funny and kind, and genuinely warm-hearted. I like the jokes about how people can't help but fall in love with her when they meet her. I loved her relationship with Gabriel and his jealousy over everybody falling for her lol I cant wait to see them finally get together. I hope they do anyway lol I like Jesse "The impetuous vampire who she kinda sorta has a thing with." And i really hope Hannah gets the justice she wants. It was enjoyable, and well worth a read. I cant wait to get my hands on the next one. : )

I just realized I rated this book and even put it in my favorite pile, but never wrote up the review. Sorry about that. I know ratings without a review do not help you choose a book.I loved this book. It was so very different from other books out there. I am not sure how to tell you all I liked about it without spoilers, so I apologize in advance if I let any slip. The characters in this book are fascinating. Hannah is strong and powerful. She takes her responsibility seriously and makes some tough choices throughout the book. I loved how we saw Hannah and Gabriel as young ones. It makes their story so much more powerful. Actually, I loved a lot of the relationships in this book. It was interesting to see how everyone's lives intertwined over the many years this book spanned. I am beyond looking forward to the next release.

I absolutely loved Guardian! Gillian Joy has a wonderful way with words. I definitely recommend this book to others! It's a story that grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let you go!Guardian is a story about Hannah who is the guardian over all your paranormal creatures, vampires, werewolves, witches, nephilum, you name it Guardian has it. After her mother's death she set out on a search for the vampire responsible for having her mother killed. Along the way she gained the reputation of being a vampire hater/killer, something that changed after she is reunited with her childhood best friend. Together they set out to draw her mother's murderer out.I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series! Definitely one of the best I have read this year.
