I'm trying to clear my Kindle freebies shelf and frankly I'm getting tired with these things. Why did I ever download these kind of stuff? I think I have a bipolar when I see the Amazon free ebook lists. This book is roll out like an average Harlequin romance. But the characters are boring to abrim. The male character apparently in need of a wife for a business proposition and then went to find his old friend to masquerade as his wife. The girl had a crush for him for years and apparently she never get over it even though he later did get married and have kids and went through a divorce. So the guy swept his old friend off her feet, instead of marrying her, she ask for an engagement instead and so they went around acting like affianced couple while both have hot eyes for each other. They had some moments, show off about their relationship and then the girl leave when the guy's son had an accident and there's some show of jealousy and then the guy realized that he's in love with her and there's some groveling. Basically, the story is a tad predictable and barely had any redeeming quality to make it noticeable among the average romance in the market. Plus, its quite sanitized too.

The Tycoon's Convenient Wife starts with Emily getting a call from the Guy who broke her heart all of those years ago. She realizes that this isn't some sort of "date" even though he is now divorced. They meet up and he proposes a business deal to her, and she doesn't want to accept at first but she wants to change her life so she is willing to accept this deal. Things seem to be going good, until Emily realizes she still loves Guy, time hasn't changed that but it has changed him some. He now won't allow him self to love, and she knows once this deal is over her heart will be broken once again by the only man who she has ever given it to. This book has some humor, and a very interesting story line. I enjoyed it a lot for a short story, and I highly recommend it.

15 years is a long time to be in love and stay in love. To me that is pure true love, don't you think?Emily is a sweet country knockout of a girl, who despite having a college education, continues waiting tables at her friend's place. It's been 15 long years since the last time she laid eyes on her college crush. 15 long years since her heart was shattered. Her crush married someone else. Oh well, life went on, goes on, and she deals with it the best way she knows how. Doing nothing. No better job, money, or boyfriend prospects for that matter. There's one prospect, but he's kinda annoying...almost yucky. You know, the kind of guy you always roll your eyes at, and cringe just at the mention of his name. Guy is not what he once was. He's filthy rich, but all the riches in the world will do nothing to give him the life he once craved. His biggest mistake was marrying who he thought was the love of his life. Little did he know he was marrying a witch for a wife. It serves him well, if you ask me. He's now in the middle of a huge deal and needs help. The only one he can trust to help him is his long lost friend Emily. The question is, will she bother to even hear him out? It doesn't take Guy a whole lot of trouble to find her. Emily can't believe his business proposal. Guy thinks everything will work out just fine, until he lays eyes on Emily once more. She's nothing like he remembers. Soon the lower parts of his body start doing all the thinking for him. Emily is in shock when she realizes the feelings she once had for Guy, never left her heart. They only accumulated dust. Every minute she spends with him, the stronger her feelings are. Guy on the other hand thinks if he can have her, all the sexual tension will go. Oh boy, is he wrong???I truly enjoyed this story. Well, I pretty much enjoy everything Ros writes. One of the things I enjoy the most is when she includes food and how she describes it. It wets the reader's appetite. There wasn't a lot of food on this one, but the business dinner at the restaurant with the starter course was delightfully delicious, and quite funny. This is a really sweet story about 2nd chances and true love. Truly enjoyable. P.S. Dear Ros, I'm really starting to think there might be a Chef in you. May I request another story about a Chef and all that delicious food?

I give this book a 2.5 only because it has a happy ending. Although honestly if I were Emily I would not have gone near Guy not even with a 10 foot pole. He was supposed to be her best friend but the moment he met his first wife he stops speaking to Emily. He breaks all contact with her for 15 years and then just out of the blue he call her up and says "Hey, I have a business proposition lets do lunch, I'll pick you up at 7". He doesn't even have the decency to pretend like its great to see her, all he's thinking is hey I need a pretend wife and I know my old friend used to be madly in love with me, she'll say yes. Whats even sadder is that Emily actually agreed to go to eat with him, but worse for 15 years she turned away all potential husbands because she was hung up on guy that couldn't even bother to be a true friend. Then she agrees to do the pretend engagement thing because she needs the money for her dream restaurant, ok, I can support that but during the time, he acts like a complete jerk, he wants her, and then uses emotional blackmail to basically get her in bed with him. He realizes what a dumb-ass he's been only after having it pointed out by his cleaning lady and given the third-degree by a potential business client. Like seriously, it took him so long to realize that he was in love with Emily, I would not have given him a second chance or any chance for that matter, not even if my life depended on it. Its a decent read, if you're into the girl being a complete idiot who's into assholes. The only thing that was like ok was that at least after 15 years she finally got the guy.

Emily has loved Guy for 15 years. Guy married Becca, and had kids, while Emily went about her life as a waitress. She kept her secret about loving Guy to herself, never sharing it with anyone. She was shocked when Guy showed up out of the blue. He was divorced, and had a business proposition. He needed her to pretend to be his wife… She didn’t want too, she was afraid of her heart being left broken once again. Her best friend needed help with the restraint, or she would lose it. Emily couldn’t let her best friend lose something she had worked her whole life for… so she had no choice but to take Guy’s business deal. Guy was sweet, but he was an idiot at times. Emily was really good around Guy’s kids. There were parts of this book that was really emotional. Over all this was a really good book. I have to say, I loved the end, and how everything worked out. I’m glad they both gave a chance with their hearts, and opened up to one another.

I enjoyed this sweet book. Yes, it was cliched, the typical need a fake fiance/girlfriend/wife for business purposes book. But what made it stand out is Emily. She is so naive in one sense, but talks herself into going along with the scheme knowing she would most likely be hurt. The hero, Guy, wasn't quite as endearing. He was quite dense, but he had an excuse in the form of a psychob*tch ex-wife who left his children in dirty diapers while having sex with another man. Unforgiveable! The best part of the story is the interaction with the tycoon whom Guy hopes to impress with his "family values." When the entire scheme falls apart, Guy has to admit that he is an idiot! Fortunately, Emily does not put gigantic obstacles in his path and once Guy realizes his mistake, he is able to shower her with the love and future she dreams of.I enjoyed the premise without a lot of angst. Perfect beach read, or in my case, a read while exercising on the stair-stepper.

I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read and the characters were likable and believable. There were a few editing mistakes, and a couple of plot inconsistencies...engaged or married? But, I really loved the heroine, Emily, she was a strong and independent woman. She knew when to bend but also when to stay firm. (view spoiler)[When Guy finalized realized what they had, it was breathtaking, and he just said the most amazing things. My favorite..."But I do love you, Em. So much that it makes me think I can’t ever have loved anyone else. I’m sorry I’ve been so blind, so stupid. So cold. I know I’ve hurt you so much, Em. Will you forgive me?"Totally swoon worthy, right?(hide spoiler)]The only thing missing was an epilogue. I really would have liked to see them in the future to make sure everything was still grand.

I hadn't realized that this was an unrequited love story when I picked it up. That trope rarely works for me, and the heroine had been in love with the hero for 15 years, whom she hadn't seen in all that time, so this one never stood a chance.I had a few other problems with this story. The reason for the marriage/engagement of convenience was weak. There was an evil ex-wife used to make the heroine look better in the hero's eyes. And in the end, I didn't believe he loved he, really. He went from liking that the sex (all fade to black, btw) was good and she was good with his kids and she took care of him to the leap that he was in love, though I never saw that development on the page.

Emily fell in love with Guy during her University days. Guy loved spending time with Emily until he fell in love and married Becca. It has now been fifteen years and out of the blue, Guy is calling Emily for a favor. What would you do if you were in Emily's place? She still has feelings for him and is still in the same old village, doing the same old job and living the same old lonely life.Sometimes you miss what is in front of your face if you don't slow down enough to appreciate what surrounds you. Lovely story!

A good storyline and characterization. I had some problems with where they were married or engaged. The title lends itself to marriage but the first 3/4 of the story and Emily's personality lend itself to engagment. A good editor could help with that. The story takes place in the UK and some of the phrases and word choices reflect that. It added to the reality of the story. I liked Emily and Guy and would have appreciated more of their friendly dialog. It would go a long way to cementing a more positive image that would make their coming together at the end more believeable.

It's a story about a man who was bruised by a previous marriage. It's very contemporary and very gripping. A woman who silently pined after her first love. It wasn't typical with a tidy bow tied around a pretty package. Guy had baggage, he wasn't perfect but he was real and good and kind. Em wasn't a bombshell, didn't have youthful, sexy-as-heck curves - as is common with most rom books, but she had soul. If you are solely interested in sex for the escapism it provides you'll hate this book. But if you want a solid story and romance without the extra 'embellishment' then you're on!

I loved this book so much it was an easy read. Great love story. Woman love a man secretly for a long time he need a pretend wife for a business deal. Can she keep her feelings in check for this business arrangement? He needs a pretend wife to man him look good for a prospective client. He is bitter with the idea of love after finding his wife in bed with another man. She sees him with his children and she knows the man she once knew is still buried inside but this is a business arrangement and once the deal is done they will go back to their respective lives. What could go wrong?

I really love the marriage of convenience stories turning into more, I was excited about this one because they had been friends for so long. In the end, the book wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. Emily let everyone basically run over her. To me she felt no self worth. I know this is just my opinion (hence my review), but I like my heroines tough, sassy and bad ass. I didn’t get that at all with Emily. For my full review: http://wp.me/p3a6Qw-6r

An enjoyable quick read. My only issue with this book was that I felt it was a bit rushed at the end. But overall enjoyable. The writing was good and the storyline although obvious was one that never gets old.I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book (which I got free on amazon) and I look forward to reading over titles by this author.

I really enjoyed this book! Perhaps it wasn't a conventional storyline but it was an easy read and I fell in love with the characters. They had a fab chemistry that made me want them to fall in love and get their happy ever after. I wasn't disappointed.

Enjoyed the book. Short but long enough to get involved with the characters personalities and feelings. Could have been longer there was a lot more plot that could have been explored.
