The Two Pound Chic Magnet Reviews
A short but sweet contemporary romance. The story is told mostly from the hero, Eli's perspective. Eli is asked to dog-sit for his sister, Olivia. This actually works out great because his girl-friend is house-sitting for her parents in California. Or so he thinks. Anyway, there would be no way that Lisette would allow the dog in her house. (Dog-Hater!) Well, needless to say, Eli discovers that Lisette is not the faithful soulmate he thought she was. So Tiger, a two pound papillon, moves in and turns into a miniature cupid of sorts. Eli's friends are hooking up and getting married and there is this girl that Eli meets...I would recommend this to anyone who loves contemporary romances that features a cute adorable little dog.
I downloaded this book onto my Kindle because it was free and it looked cute. It turned out to be a very charming, engaging, and enjoyable read. Eli, the hero, has been living with Lizette. He's ready to propose marriage, but plans to surprise her with the proposal. Before he can do that, she goes off to the other side of the country to help out with a family crisis. Although something about that just doesn't feel right to Eli. Lizette is a narcissistic, manipulative b****. Eli is a caring, kind, and loving person, and twists himself into knots to please her. He's still very close to his buddies from high school, and they all hang out together. Lizette is always criticizing them, and putting them down. While Lizette is gone, Eli's sister asks Eli to take care of her dog, because the sister is going out of the country on a long-term work assignment. The last thing Eli wants is to look after the dog, but he can't say no to his sister. The dog changes Eli's life, as well as the lives of his friends (he would have never taken the dog if Lizette was around because she hated the dog….). The dog is a canine fairy godmother, and Eli, and each of his friends, find his true love with the help of the dog. It sounds cutesy, but in this author's hands it really works, and is absolutely delightful.
I loved this book. Made me smile through most of the story. Eli grudgingly agrees to watch his sister's small dog, Tiger, for six months while she's in London for business. Tiger turns out to be a true chick magnet for Eli and his friends. All through the book, the men drop, falling in love thanks to Tiger. Eli has a harder time when the one he wants to marry is...maybe not as ready as he is. So will Eli find happiness? A feel-good story.
Loved this one!Such an awesome story. I can completely believe it too. Dogs are chick magnets. We women are a sucker for a cute face and droopy ears! Great read for the younger crowd too, just a tiny bit of mature language and situations but much less than they see on TV or the movie screen!
Very light chic-lit read about finding the right person. Eli is forced to take care of his sister's tiny dog, Tiger, when everything in life is going poorly. His model girlfriend has essentially left him. But the Papillon dog is so cute and awesome that he brings everybody together and they all find love.
