Wild Fascination Reviews
In this third book of Abby Blake’s series A Bride for Eight Brothers, the story gets better and more involved. This actually has three subplots, all woven together to make an enjoyable and entertaining book. The contract on the ice planet has been completed, and while most of Mikayla’s husbands are moving the base to the next uninhabited planet, Mikayla, along with Ryan and Ty are on a brief vacation back on Earth. Peter is also on the planet, attending to some business. As the three decide to join Peter in New York, a chance meeting at the airport reveals details of how Mikayla ended up on the ice planet with her men, and they are able to prevent the same thing from happening to another young woman, Tracey, caught in the same man’s trap. Tracey and Mikayla find they have much in common, and quickly become friends. When they get to New York, Mikayla discovers that Peter’s former fiancé is trying to sue all of her husbands for everything they have. Then, on the new planet, something starts affecting the libidos of her husbands. Mikayla enjoys the extra attention at first, but as the men grow ever more attentive, the cause needs to be found. Can they survive the lawsuit and keep Peter’s ex from winning what they have worked so hard to build? On the new base, can they discover what is causing the men to lose control, before one of them actually hurts the woman they all cherish? Will they all get past this latest difficulty to become the happy family they once were? There is a lot to laugh at in this episode of A Bride for Eight Brothers. I still enjoy watching as these nine people grow as a family, and support each other no matter what. Mikayla continues to be the sassy and smart woman we met at the beginning, but I love seeing the new sense of confidence she is gaining because of the love she gets from her men. I had to laugh when she learned that the new scientists coming to help were three women, but I also loved that she felt secure enough to accept them once they arrived. The various issues raised in this story do find solutions and, in more than one instance, they are humorous and delightful. I like that Mikayla has gained a female friend in Tracey, and I hope to see more of her and her new husbands in future episodes. Of course, with eight hunks hovering around, there is a fair amount of hot and sexy action, but it is well done and appropriate to the storyline. I recommend this to all who like their science fiction on the hot side, but be sure to read them in order, as these are not stand alone books. originally posted at http://whippedcream2.blogspot.com/201...
Enter the ex-fiance of Peter--a woman scorned--and from what I can tell, for good reason. I'm still trying to figure out what attracted Peter to her in the first place. She is now taking the brothers to court and trying to rob them of all their assets with a "breech of contract" suit. Mikayla insists on being support for husband Peter which initially seems to be problematic. Ultimately the problem comes to court and there are some courtroom fireworks that certainly spice up the story. Mikayla is settling in as their wife and it is evident that they all love her very much and truly value her. And like all marriages, there is indeed trouble in Paradise as long as this ex-fiance has her way. Now add in the fact that the family is now on a new planet conducting their experiments under a new contract when a substance on this planet begins to create a new set of problems that could conceivably result in some serious damage to their relationship with Mikayla, possible even cause serious injury to her and to the future of their family together.
2.5 stars, but giving the benefit...This third monthly installment of 'A Bride for Eight Brothers' just didn't impress me as much as the first two, which had danger and action in them. This seemed choppy, in that the text would tell you one person had showed up in the room, but there are suddenly two people who had joined in the conversation/action.The whole lawsuit thing seemed silly (although silly things often make it to court) and to have the judge tell Mikayla ( who was simply sitting in the witness chair) that the lawsuit is dismissed, when it was Peter that was being sued, seemed as though the author either hadn't thought this through before writing it, or didn't know about appropriate court protocol. The aphrodisiac mouse tears was pretty funny...Of course, this is just a fun sort of series, and I will continue reading all of the monthly installments.
Recomendable.
Wild Fascination is book three in A Bride For Eight Brothers, Erotica Menage Series by Abby Blake. This story is about Mikayla and her eight husbands, once again. I like that the ongoing story didn't introduce a new husband or wife. (view spoiler)[I liked that Mikayla and Laughlin worked on their issues from the last book. In this book, Mikayla and her hubby's are contracted on a new planet to inventory the species, plant, animal, and insect. They find a small, mouse like creature that excretes liquid from its eyes. The liquid is a pharamone that drives them all to a sexual need. (hide spoiler)] The story is hot, but the sex scenes aren't nearly as good as book one. Still a good series and I'll continue with it.
This story unfortunately was strangely disconnected in the middle. The first half being about Peter's problems with his ex fiancé and the second half being about the start of the Davidson's new contract on another planet. The disconnect between the two is abrupt and does not make any sense. It feels more like two stories stuck together with a very confusing and unhinted at resolution to the first story to allow for the second. Other than that, the writing and hot sex scenes are pure Abby Blake and enjoyable as always.
Really brilliant This book is defiantly a must have book. An excellent continuation. if you enjoy reading books with multiple +++++ partners a touch of sci-fi and romance then you will enjoy this series.
