2.5 starsI have never been a fan of a story that seems to have more lovemaking related scenes than "other" plot. It's not that I have anything against them (sometimes I can enjoy it) but it's just not my preference. Unfortunately, this is one of them. If I can sum up the story, all I can come up with is "boy meets boy, boy lust after boy, boy gets blow job, boy masturbates, boy gets blowjob, boy gets to have sex, and sex, and sex, oh ... something about boy is actually the Chosen One for a wolf pack, another sex, something about a traitor within the pack, sex, kidnapping of the boyfriend, taking care of business, and well, sex". I'm a fan of Weres, but the actual "Were" issue doesn't really come up until half of the book, and well, for me, they kinda buried under the whole lust and love thing. The characters are okay ... I do like Salem, one of the best friends. I am a bit creeped out by Josh (the other best friend) though because I think he knows no boundaries. Asking your friend why "you and the boyfriend do not do it bareback when you are both tested negative" is definitely creepy for me because I don't think that is anyone's business, even if you consider yourself a good friend.I'm sure this story can satisfy others but unfortunately not for me.

At the beginning of the book I thought there was a great deal of promise and I thought the twists and turns of the storyline would be good. However, there ended up just being too much that interfered with it. The writing seemed to be very simple and was all over the place and I was getting frustrated trying to stick with it. I think if the author had focused more on the story and less on the countless sex scenes, it would have made for better reading. If there was one thing that totally drove me nuts throughout the whole book was Jack's constant use of the work "pup". I have no problems with terms of endearment, but that one just grated on my nerves.

2.75 starsI did enjoy reading this book, but I've rated it much lower than it could have been because it could have been so much better. The resolution was pretty easy to spot (and I'm not usually that great at spotting the resolutions to a mystery). Also, the writing was very abrupt (which is a matter of taste). However, I did feel like the staccato sentence structure went a little too far in places, where some good descriptive writing would have done well (particularly in scenes heavy with dialogue, as there wasn't very much sensory information, such as body language, etc.). Also, for all the amount of time it took the main plot line to start (after the first half of the book), I didn't feel like I got to know the characters all that well.I will say, though, that I still enjoyed reading the book. It just left a lot to be desired for my personal preference.

In many ways this is a coming of age story for Jack. Who and what Jack is at the beginning of the story is extremely different than who he ends up to be.I liked that the relationship between Jack and Derek is allowed to evolve. There are subtle hints throughout that the people around Jack are more than they appeared to be and I was waiting for the shoe to drop and find out exactly what Jack is. I am still in the air over the Rick issue and how the boys handled it.There were a couple of times that I thought Jack should have had more questions, especially since he was going to college for a journalism degree. There were a couple of spots that I felt it was a little slow or I wanted information (i.e. the adoptive family-they were shadows and though they weren’t pivotal to the plot but they would have added more flesh to Jack’s character and values). What I do like is that is it not a typical shifter story. The zoo scene was a nice touch. Everything builds slowly to the end result but not so slowly that I was bored. Far from it, I read it in one sitting. I guess that I should warn that there is one scene of extreme violence/gore towards the end. It was brief and not too descriptive but surprised me because I didn’t see it coming. This is my first book by Ethan Stone and I really enjoyed this story. I look forward to reading more by this artist.

2.85 starsI don’t know where to go with this review. I felt at times like I was reading a couple of different stories or that it was written by more than one person the writing style seems to change throughout the book. It starts out with such promise, I enjoyed reading about Jack and Derek they were a fun couple and learning about Jack the same time he does was good but somewhere around a third of the way in it lost me. The writing seemed to have changed and the focus of the book changed at least it felt that way to me.This could have been such a great book if that one third in the middle was tighter it felt all over the place and a bit simple it made it hard for me to continue. I’m not a fan of a lot of sex in the books I like to read but if there is a purpose and it’s done in a romantic loving way not just a bunch of words on the page to extend the word count I’m okay with it, this had both some of the sex got tiresome. I am glad I continued reading the last third was good, the story does somewhat redeem itself and I got my absolute must an HEA!

Qui no! Questo no. Questo è molto positivo secondo me.Pertanto, il mio giudizio finale è pari a 3 stelle

I had mixed feedback from myself about this novel, in the end I was not really sure if I had just read a cute college romance or a dark gothic paranormal romance. For most of the novel, Jack and Derek are just two young gay guys meeting in College and having just fun; sure they feel strong for each since the beginning, and they decide to be serious about their relationship very quick, but in the end, they are really young, and all their actions are more of boys than men. Plus Derek is very well-off and this allows them a freedom other guys same age cannot afford. One thing I liked of them, and that made me smile, is that both Jack than Derek are actually “easy”, you can say it doesn’t take much for them to jump in bed. Truth be told, the night Jack meets Derek, he is in a self-imposed abstinence rule: don’t have sex at first date… but after that everything is allowed… not really a strict rule ;-)So yes, I was quite enjoying my college tale, and the way these guys were able to appreciate their young age without being careless, but then the story moved to a more dark mood: both Derek than Jack are werewolves, and Jack has an important role in pack politics, even if he doesn’t want to acknowledge his heritage. If I have to be 100% sincere, I preferred the first part of the story, I’m more for the comedy/romance than the paranormal/romance, but I can tell that the young boys of the first part of the novel were also in the young werewolves whose fate was to change an old structure; again the young blood was needed to allow the pack to go on.

This is a story that starts out well and with promise, but unfortunately quickly goes south. The writing is very unimaginative and repetitive and the characters never evolve and remain shallow. There's no depth. The plot, like much of the story starts out well, but it quickly falls short. This might be because of the style of writing which is first person and glosses over scenes. There are parts that are laughable and unbelievable. In short I was quite disappointed by this story. Especially because I normally really like the stories written by this author. I hope the next one is better develloped.

3.5 starsThis one is sort of difficult for me to rate. I really liked the plot of this story and the characters, but the writing fell flat for me in places, especially towards the end, and like others said, there is a lot of sex throughout the book. Overall, I thought it was a good story that could have been better executed.

3.5 Stars - Though some of the plot was out there and a couple of scenes surprised me (not in a good way) I did enjoy this book. Derek was so sweet and Jack was slightly confused but strong. I liked the shifter lore and I didn't see many of the twists coming.

The sypnosis had me pre-order immediately but Wolf Moon is unfortunately one of those that just miss the mark. There is nothing special about the plot and I can't seem to enjoy the characters. Still, a nice coffee break read but it could have been better.

No no, non ci sta proprio!

I really liked the story. I do not have the same complaints as many of the other reviewers. I've been contemplating the reasons: 1) I might have lowered my expectations. Though I don't usually read the reviews right before starting, this time I had. I was pleasantly surprised as I kept reading. 2) I may just read a lot more Smut. I expect a lot of sex with most m/m books even more so the shifter ones. I actually thought it had a lot more plot than I might have expected. The m/c's are males, college age, & mated. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of sex but many scenes were implied or abbreviated as the story progressed. 3) I'm a laid back reader. I'm not a grammar/editing aficionado. It has to be repeated & really obvious for it to throw me out of a story. I don't have a preferred POV or writing style. Nor do I have certain plot themes that are almost immediate dislikes for me like "Gay 4 U", "Chicks with Dicks", "Insta-love", etc... The only thing that will regularly ruin a story for me is the lack of a HFN/HEA which does not apply to this story. 4) As for it being simplistic or obvious, maybe I'm just obtuse. I thought it was clever how Jack became Alpha. There were never an over abundance of traitor suspects basically just two, so you always had a 50/50 chance. I guess the author could have tried to throw out more red herrings. I was surprised by one person who wasn't involved. One issue I did have was that I felt the resolution with his mate's dad was abrupt & rushed. I felt it didn't really add to the plot, wasn't very logical, seemed borderline out of character, & could have been handled much more deftly. I could see how others were thrown by the constant "pup" reference. Though it didn't bother me, it came close.Overall I enjoyed this story. I loved the characters including the supporting ones. I thought Salem was especially great. There were some nice twists on the werewolf lore. I felt the relationship was fleshed out well. It was a nice solid read.

Wolf Moon is the story of Jack, who learns rather abruptly that he is a werewolf. If that wasn't enough to take in, he bears the mark of the Chosen; born to lead, born to be pack alpha. When the truth about his heritage is revealed, Jack also begins to suspect that his parent’s death may not have been an accident and he’s determined to find the answers.I loved the characters in this story. Josh and Salem are Jack’s best friends and they have been there for him for years. When Jack meets Derek, their instant attraction is hot and heavy immediately-they are destined to be mates. The camaraderie between them, the strong friendships and pack mentality came through very well. Unfortunately, I thought Jack accepted the truth about his nature a little too easily. It’s clear that those closest to Jack knew who and what he was and I would think he’d be a little more upset that he was not told. I also had a hard time with the author’s writing style in this book. There is a lot of dialogue and it switches quickly-I found myself going back and forth to keep track of who exactly was speaking. It was the characters, though, that kept my interest in this story. I had to see how it ended and who the “bad” buy was. In the end, my guess was wrong and I was surprised at who the villain was.

Due to the popularity of Twilight, the literary world has been flooded with werewolf / vamp books. For a time it seemed that writers were obligated to write one. Wolf Moon is a slightly different take on the werewolf them. Jack was orphaned at an early age and was adopted by a wonderful overprotective family (we see little of them in the book). He is a junior in college and is introduced to Derek.Jack finds out not only is he a werewolf but, he is the Chosen One destined to be the top dog alpha of the wolf pack. Jack isn’t sure he wants the power or is qualified to yield the power. This sets him aside from the others who want to challenge the current alpha for control and prevent Jack from becoming the new alpha. The ritual to install the Chosen as the alpha was a different and fresh take from the usual physically battling it out to be the top dog that is the usual in shifter books. Also I liked the fact that the wolves could shift at any time, full moon wasn’t needed. Also, a person is born a werewolf – no bites by a beast on a dark and stormy night.Overall Wolf Moon isn't a bad book and was worth reading.

Jack is the narrator of the story. To be honest his “voice” felt flat to me. I know that this is a romance but the story line just didn’t support the paranormal side. At times it seemed that the story was a contemporary and then it would jump to paranormal…way out there paranormal. I had a hard time at Jack’s acceptance of his real heritage. He was upset over Derek and Josh’s relationship but never had a problem with them keeping this much larger secret or the fact they pushed so hard for unprotected sex and knew what would happen but gave no warning. Derek was too perfect. I thought in a lot of other stories he would have been the bad guy because of the way he was acting. I did enjoy the characters to a degree. The interaction between them was good but again it felt that little too perfect. Believe me I normally would never say a book had too much sex but this one did with little plot to back it up. Normally I have enjoyed this author’s books. This one just didn’t do it.

I reviewed it twice by accident but sadly the book didn't get much better on 2nd reading and yet, still gave it 3 stars.Tough book to rate simply because I've read soo many brilliant books with themes similar. The story was great, I just wish there was more expanding of the story. One of the pitfalls due to the short length is that certain things happen very fast and people co-operate ridicuosly quickly at certain points throughout the book. --------Not hugely impressed with this novel. Torn between giving it 2 or 3 stars. It is an easy read, the sex scenes are fun and the chemistry is nice between the 2 main characters. The story however falls flat for me. It was a good idea but not really executed in a way to grab my attention. It was just bland. My reaction was 'meh' for most of it. Which is sad because I do like the set up and the characters had such potential.

I'll admit I'm a little disappointed with this one. I had hoped to like it more than I actually did. This book had the potential of a great story. And while it wasn't bad, there were just bits and pieces that prevented me from rating it higher. For starters I found the whole story to be very wordy, especially during the sex scenes. Which admittedly, were hot and sexy. But too much dialogue during these scenes just isn't my thing. There were a few WTF moments as well, all which did effect my rating of this book. The characters were entertaining. There were a lot of them and at times I had to think who was who exactly again. So yes, while it was an entertaining read, I don't think I'll revisit this one again.

3.5 starsThis is a pretty good book. I liked the unusual take on werewolves (e.j. the whole "Chosen One" thing among others), and I thought it made for an interesting plot. I loved the characters, especially Jack's friends Josh and Salem. In fact, I liked quite a few of the secondary characters. I also liked how this was a bit of a coming of age story for Jack. I enjoyed seeing him grow and mature throughout the book, and I was surprised with the surprise twists near the end. However, the book was rather long and dragged on at times, so much so that I skimmed through several parts of the book. I would recommend this book, but I probably won't be re-reading it any time soon.

Cole Riann described this perfectly- This felt like a completely different writer than 'In the Flesh' series. The sentence structure was off- staccato. The dialogue was written with out descriptors or the same ones were repeated over...and over. I liked the story set-up, but the writing craft was absent. I have no idea what happened. I recommend Ethan Stone's In the Flesh Series. The writing is head and shoulders better.

Reviewed by Brandilyn for Prism Book Alliance. Wolf Moon is Ethan Stone's take on shifters. As he is known for mysteries, so this one, of course, had a mystery slant. The mystery was a combination of old and new. Jack is the Chosen One, but there are people on both sides of the debate on whether "he" actually exists... no, to mention the fact that he has grown up completely oblivious to this fact, being raised by human parents. There were part of the mythos that I questioned, but Stone did an admirable job sucking me in for the ride.

This book is written like it's a TV Show, in a very visual way. But it's badly done, and all the shortcuts that would work if it were filmed just make the scenes uninteresting, the writing shallow. The plot, which could have been interesting, is overwrought with clichés. Clichés are awesome when they're well-written, which as I said is not the case here. A lot of the scenes are redundant. So despite all the twists, it's actually very boring.

Wolf Moon is a very likable book. It's not a flawless book, it has a few rough spots and the plot isn't very well grounded, but I enjoyed reading it. I love werewolf stories and I'm probably more forgiving of their imperfections than I might be with other genres, but I think Wolf Moon positively earned three stars,
