Brought to you by OBS reviewer DawnSPOILERS!!!!!Bonded is the sequel to Empath. After finishing the semester at college, Claire formally moves in with James, although it was a already a done deal. They explore the “marking” in this installment. The “marking” is revealed slowly as you learn about it through James and Claire. It’s a clever plot point; I like how it plays out. Claire struggles to deal with James’ emotions as well as her own. She loses control a number of times. She battles jealousy, rage and insecurity. She is hit with every obstacle but it forges a stronger relationship between them.Squeal! Claire gets to be the hero for once. I loved seeing her take control. She was determined to do whatever it took to save the man she loves. Claire matures in book 2, she becomes more self-less instead of so self-absorbed. She puts her life on the line for both James and Stephen. It was refreshing to see her growth. The Vampire Council and their politics is fascinating. I like the world Savage has created for Vamps and Weres. The Council would like Claire to work for them, helping train new vampires with gifts.Claire also considers becoming a vampire but she struggles with what she might lose and gain if she makes the choice.Due to a choice she makes, Claire suffers unspeakable violence. But she did not wilt and die. She channeled it into anger to save herself and the others. James is truly there for her in a way a lot of men would not be considering the circumstances. His support and love was truly beautiful.Stephen shares more about his background, some of it is heart-breaking. Surprisingly, they grow closer as he shares his similar experiences. In my experience, most middle books in a series are uneventful and often boring. Bonded does not follow that path. There are numerous plot twists and action to keep you absorbed in the book.Bonded is a severe emotional roller coaster ride. I laughed and cried but it evokes strong feelings as only well written books can.P.S. I really really want Claire to kick Anton’s ass.http://openbooksociety.com/article/bo...

Wowza, Where to begin?!This book was even better than the first “Empath” if possible. Action packed. Full of romance, kidnapping, action & drama. All my favorites.Claire and James’s relationship is speeding along - developing their bond, as well as their physical and emotional relationship. Their psychic (telepathic) bond is the first anyone has heard of it in 300 years. It allows her to share her thoughts, feelings & humanity with the love of her life and 150 year old vampire James. Unfortunately the vampire side of the bond is bleeding over to Claire more & more each day and threatens to take away the control she feels she needs to be her own person. Claires ‘episodes’ seem to be coming thick and fast and she is terrified she is losing herself. So much happens throughout Bonded… James is kidnapped and saved by their bond, Claire calls it quits with James after he talks about her changing over, Claire & Stephen are kidnapped and raped after being sold out by a traitor, Claire & James seem to be constantly on the run and hiding to protect themselves and each other and so much more. Claire has amazing willpower and internal strength & compliments James perfectly. Their relationship is beautiful to follow. I am still intrigued by all the characters and the mystery is thick. I am so looking forward to seeing more as Claire and James live their lives as Mr & Mrs Thomas, as well as what will come of Lucas trying to capture Claire.I could rave on and on about this series because I am just enjoying it so much, but excuse me while I run off the read the next in the series “Secrets”…If you haven’t read this series, you should!

The physical and emotional bond between Claire and James is moving at a rapid pace, as is the life changing realizations that Claire is finding in her new life. As Claire learns the truth about the everyday people coexisting in the world she has known all her life, the dangers are also making themselves known. With life altering decisions to be made, Claire finds herself challenging the commitment to her new life and questioning the responsibility her talents have placed in her lap.I love the way the Author portrayed the strong will of Claire in this book. Claire is prepared to speak her mind, in spite of the repercussions she knows will follow. Her readiness to sell her soul to aide in the survival of the ones she loves makes her a character so undoubtedly courageous. HK Savage really touches on the emotions new couples feel as they embark on the beginning stages of a relationship. That up and down rollercoaster ride that new lovers take as they learn about the person lying next to them in bed. Questioning the future and what it holds. I think it’s a situation we can all relate to, human or vampire. In the end, Bonded took off from page one. It was packed full of exciting moments and action, constantly speeding ahead. It held the perfect amount of quiet moments where the reader had the opportunity to study the character and ultimately feel the love and sacrifice they endure. And the best part, it’s not over yet. Secrets is next on my list and I can’t wait.

I Don't Know Why I Keep Reading This TrilogyOkay, I know why; I like the idea behind the story line. I do not like the writing at all though, and this one had me wondering if an editor even looked at it. I feel like there are gaps all over the place, and that the time line is messed up. Like its been a few days but then it has actually been weeks only To go back to days.I also feel, that with this one, it could have been two books had the two separate story arcs been filled out more.******* past this point will be SPOILERS and TRIGGER WARNING*******(view spoiler)[I was totally disgusted with how her rape was handled. Firstly, while I realize there was not a lot of details put in, there still seemed to be more details to the rapes then to the consensual sex. I realize neither was very detailed, but it struck me that there was ANY details in the rape when all consensual scenes seem to be kiss, clothes off, fade.Further, she hadn't even bothered mentioning trade until she was firmly in their hold and then,`Oh, hey, btw I'm expecting you to let him go now that you have me securely in a place nobody has ever been able to locate and I don't really expect anyone to come looking `cause I just got dumped and Stephen has been super flakey lately. And you know, I didn't leave a single clue to were I was going.`Then let's just erase my memories and replace them with his so I can not feel the trauma my torture was. So I can go back to being totally me with just some physical scars and getting to be the hero. AND THEN OFF TO SCOTLAND TO HELP THE COURT. My recent kidnapping, torture, and rape is so not a big deal, except I'm too sore for round two with my again fiance. Then lets run into th ex of my lover, a vampire elf that wants to collect me, and a random witch that sees my destiny and is good natured enough to want to protect me as much as possible but freaks out when a thrall walks in and suddenly gets too scared to talk. Why did I go to this bookshop you might ask? Well I was just pulled there for no reason as I was wondering around aimlessly when people keep trying to hunt, capture, and or kill me for too many reasons to count.Oh, but it's okay because he also made me borrow a book that while fascinated by, I don't seem to even remember after my beloved learns of my destiny. And then, of course, it was him saving her, not killing her like everyone thought, which I find strange a person who can see destinies could not tell the difference. And the location was different and I'm really confused how the taste of her blood got into his mouth as he wasn't the one that attacked or drank blood. And then there is the random relationship between Tonya and the guy. But I'm stopping now, because otherwise I will just keep going. But how did Brian's anger effect Stephen if he couldn't project it and without anyone but the FMC noticing something was wrong? I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion. Now that Claire has met these people who have taken her under their wing sort of to speak and have taught her how to control her abilities she has become a better and happier person. Claire has grown so much since reading Empath. She has become so much stronger mentally as well. Once she learned how to control her abilities she was living in a new world a world where she could have friends and let people come into her heart; she learned to love and once she felt this feeling that was so new to her she fell hard for James who is a vampire. Not that she had never loved anyone before she couldn't feel her feelings for feeling everyone else's. Claire is one strong woman with her abilities especially now that she knows how to control them. And with James as her mate together they are almost unbeatable. With their bond they can out smart just about anyone, human or vampire. Their love is very strong but on occasion James thinks that it is falling apart or that he is losing Claire. He doesn't know or believe that she loves him as much as she does or as much as he loves her. Both of them are always thinking that they are going to lose the other one. They are both so jealous that if another person just looks at one of them in what they think is an in appropriate way then they are ready to attack.I love the relationship that the two of them have and the bond that they have. It would be so amazing if we as humans could have a relationship like theirs. You know I think in ways we do. Like in the way that some couples can and do finish each other's sentences or they can feel them and know if they are close by. May be some couples can feel what the other one is feeling. I think that may be some couples can feel each other's pain. If they love each other enough they can feel all of these things and may be more who knows right? This has been one amazing series so far and I can't wait to finish the third book in the series Secrets. I have really and truly learned a lot from reading this trilogy. If you have not read the Empath trilogy yet then I suggest that you do and right away it is totally out of this world.

Expectations are high in the second installment of the Empath Trilogy and HK Savage delivered. The roller coaster starts out slow but quickly escalates with action full of twists and turns. James and Claire’s adventures range from kidnapping to torture, murder, rape, and in true paranormal fashion, “turning”. Who “turned”? I won’t tell. All the while, characters are falling in love, giving up on love, and being betrayed by love. Throughout it all we are introduced to new powers, new characters, and new beings in this mythology. It’s difficult to keep it all straight. So much has happened! This book is violent enough that I would not recommend it for younger audiences. Yet, it is not violent enough to be written off by those with weaker stomachs or those adverse to gory scenes. It’s a good balance to have these events in written form without it being over-the-top. Romance and action is always a great combination. Throw in some mysterious supernatural elements and it’s gold.I loved watching Claire become powerful in her own right. She’s a grown up with abilities and she’s using them. No helpless little girl here. There are some high strung emotions, yet the characters are not rash or dippy. Instead, the emotions felt dead on, given the circumstances. This is difficult to write. There was a point when I groaned, thinking I am going to see grown adults act silly. However, I am happy to report this is Vampire Diaries-like but it’s not high school. No, no. I was delighted to see this is still Twilight all grown up. Instead, we just have characters with overactive imaginations and idiotic insecurities. Just like everyone else in the world. Yes, I said that. Move along now. Keep reading. Some storylines, on the other hand, did not feel quite natural, I will admit. For example, if Lucas really was interested in Claire (not in that way, ladies) and she had already been kidnapped with unspeakable things done to her, then why would she be left alone again? Like ever? Would I care so much about my freedom from my boyfFor full review, go to http://ravenreviewer.tumblr.com/post/...

Some sexy love scenes....) vampire romance writers to use, but the book dragged. OMG did it drag. I had to put the book down to take a break from Claire when she fell back on being emotionally crippled and just being plain stupid about her relationship with James.James and Henry - more Henry now than anything - are still patronizing but the excuse is that it's their world and she has to learn how to be in their world. I feel like there was a section of the book that written really well but then the after effects of that part were simply washed away so we didn't have to think about it any more. I think that was a disservice to the readers, to the characters, to the story. Healing and repair, not just brainwash. Maybe I'm nitpicking but I'm not so sure. This was a less fun novel considering that the only reason I started to read it was in hopes of having a bit more brain candy for the rest of my Spring Break. It was too heavy but not written well to make it worth reading. It's a shame. All vampire romances: let's find some kind of originality and leave the were animals to Stephenie Meyers and Twilight, 'kay? thanks.

**4 star rating**With the semester finished, Claire officially moves into James’ place to spend the holidays. Claire and James’ relationship is on full force as they explore their bond. This book has lots more action and things going on than Empath. What I liked:•The action – So many things happened in this book. There were kidnappings, fights, emotional breakdowns, and so much more•Character development – Claire matured a great deal in this book, she just came off as much more selfless, sure of herself and her love for James. She was also a total bad-ass in this book•The fast pace – This book moved way faster and smoother than the previous one. There’s a very obvious improvement on the author’s part•The bond between James and Claire – The readers are just much more privy to the details of the bond. Also, this bond saved them numerous timesWhat I did not like:•The lack of sexual tension – There was just no “sizzle” between Claire and James•There were just some parts that I couldn’t understand, at least not immediately. Suddenly Claire is mad at Stephen, then Stephen is mad at Claire. The characters’ reactions to things were just a little too big and much (only sometimes)I enjoyed this book much more than the first ’cause it was fast moving and it wasn’t draggy. I found the kidnappings and the characters’ attempts to break free and to save each other really interesting and it just added a lot more emotion and intensity to the book.

In this second installment, we still find many grammatical errors. They irk me to no end. I try to ignore them, but I can't. The writing style is about the same for me in this story also. Okay, but nothing gripping. This part of the story, I feel was a little bit better than the first book. While we find out more about some things, we are left with more questions.A lot of stuff happens in this story. Jame's life is at risk, Claire comes to the rescue. Then Claire is taken and tortured... mentally and psychically, until the gang comes. Though, really Claire is a bit of a bad-ass and will do what she has to do to survive. Then the Court summons them. Miranda is very interested in their bond and wants to know more about it. Claire, because of James', is starting to act more 'vampire' and less human. We start to discuss if Claire should or should not be changed. We also see Claire and James' relationship grow stronger. Though some answers where approached in this story, I am expecting a lot of answers in the third book.

Danger lurks around every corner and I'm happy to say Claire really steps up and takes control. Her bond with James is really speeding along quickly barely giving them enough time to process all that comes with it. While being emotionally connected is great, Claire faces so many challenges because the vampire side fights to take control...causing a fear of losing herself. Claire is strong willed and holds no questions when she wilingly offers herself in order to save the people she loves. I wish I held that type of courage. Bonded is emotionally charged, I almost had whiplash (in a good way if that's possible) from the journey. Shock, jealousy, past lovers, insecurities, kidnappings, rage, and confusion...HK Savage does a great job of capturing a little bit of everything. It is hard to not give away too much so I will finish with saying it was a great book, action packed and definitely captivating. I look forward to the third installment, Secrets.

Does anyone else find James to be completely boring? At first I was ok with it because I figured once they started learning more about each other maybe he would have a fasinating past or something. Of course I was wrong. Their romance is so dull. I don't feel the love and no sexual tension of any kind. Also people in the book tend to do really weird things all the time. Why was Stephen mad at Claire, heck why was Claire mad at Stephen. Tara attacking herself to Omar so quickly and then hating the vampires for 'saving' him. (yes the saving him part was weird too...that was the only way?? Really??) Ok maybe I see her being mad at the Vamps but why Claire, and why not Henry. So many questions. The only person I find slightly interesting is Lucas and he will probably end up being a bad guy. Also, haven't Claire and James only known each other a few months? Why are they getting married? Arg.

This is a series that keeps it coming! Claire and James are bonded and the relationship is developing quicker than either had planned. Claire moves in with James and struggles to maintain her humanity with the development of their connection. Being “marked” is usually done through bites but it seems like these two have developed a “psychic mark” that allows them to blend together.Betrayal is the name of this game and I have to tell you that I was lead to believe one thing and it turned in a completely different direction! Love when that happens. Stephen’s character is growing by leaps and bounds and I am anxious to see if he finds the love he is looking for.Stoked to discover what happens to this dynamic family in the third book, Secrets!!

After I read Empath I didn't hesitate to buy Bonded due to HK Savage excellent story telling. The second book didn't disappoint and I'm glad it pick off right where Empath left off. Sometimes I really hate time jumps. The only thing I hated was Claire sometimes acted so damn childish and her mood swings were really annoying especially her lashing out to James I wanted to throttle her while reading but loved her nonetheless. Gotta say I really loved Lucas and I wish he would get his own book his character is very interesting. The one thing I really appreciated was HK Savage ability to show vampires how they really an truly are...their not human...they struggle with what little humanity they do have...their world is harsher and unforgiving....definitely better than sparkly vampires. ;)

Okay this book was good enough but there are some cultural mistakes regarding Scotland. Scotland's currency is the same as England and Wales as it is the Great British Pound(GBP). You will also find that in January in central Scotland it is not merely chilly but freezing, a lot of the time spending itself in sub-zero temperatures. Sorry but mistakes like these ruin books for me and it would have ranked higher if not for these mistakes. I have yet to finish the book but will edit it with my final review soon.

Another half star request on my behalf to Goodreads! I still felt that this book deserved the higher score rather than just a three. I've read many reviews comparing this to Twilight but there is no comparison in my eyes. Don't get me wrong I am a HUGE Twilight fan but Claire is no Bella. Claire is ballsy and no wallflower. She can hold her own even if she is just channeling James' vampire skills. I must admit this book took me longer to read than the first but I am still enjoying the trilogy and will go straight onto the third book now.

Argh! I can not get enough of this series. The secrets and mysteries behind the bond are incredible. Through it we find something very interesting about Miranda which proves enticing. Also we learn the big head honchos behind all the killings and kidnappings happening in the area. You won't believe it, I promise! All I can say is that I promise you will love this series and not be able to stop reading.

Much like the first book (Empath) I really enjoyed the continued journey of Claire and James into their dangerous but happy world. I loved the way their bond has grown and are much the same person. Claire has struggled with herself and her enemies and somehow has overcome them with the help of her ability and her love James. They are not in the clear yet though, with more powerful enemies trying to come between them at any chance. I'm excited to continue on with the next book (Secrets).

I loved this book and the rest of the trilogy. What a great writer H K Savage is. I fell in love with the authors style of writing and truly felt like I was right there with the characters. The characters have a lot of depth, and the storyline is flowing and full. I read the entire series in only a few days. After I started it I wasn't able to put it down. Recommended for anyone who likes the supernatural romance stories.

Bonded had me in it's grasps from the start. As the Claire and James' bond became more intense it had me wanting to know more about how there story would play out. Then a slight twist was added and that's when the fight was on and I was left sitting on the edge of my seat waiting and needing to know who would be left standing when the mist cleared. I loved how the paranormal strength in this book deepened the further into it I got. Now I am left hoping that book three has the answers I seek.

I really enjoyed Bonded - it was a great final book to the trilogy. I thought that it would be predictable but it wasn't - there were many surprises. I loved how the Vampire Court polotics were played out and explained in so much detail. After reading the three books i almost made myself believe it was normal to drink a cup of blood out of a wine glass!

Picking up where Empath left off, this book does not disappoint. Right from the jump there is more action just like the first story and many a moment where you ask yourself can it get much worse for these characters. Much like the first book I loved this one and now can't wait to begin the final book in the trilogy.

Bonded to the storyI was more intrigued with James and Claire's story this book. they went through a lot as a 'human' couple in the first book but this one ,they face far more treacherous tasks and adventures. It's more of a very adult themed twilight and if Jacob was never attracted to the main character. very good read , glad to add it to my collection.
